< 2 Samuel 23 >

1 Now these are the last words of David— David son of Jesse, the man who was highly honored, the one anointed by the God of Jacob, the sweet psalmist of Israel.
Ita, dagitoy dagiti maudi a balikas ni David— ni David nga anak ni Jesse, ti tao a napadayawan unay, ti tao a pinulotan iti Dios ni Jacob, ti nalaing a salmista ti Israel.
2 “The Spirit of Yahweh spoke by me, and his word was on my tongue.
“Nagsao ti Espiritu ni Yahweh babaen kaniak, ket adda dagiti balikasna iti dilak.
3 The God of Israel spoke, the Rock of Israel said to me, 'The one who rules righteously over men, who rules in the fear of God.
Nagsao ti Dios ti Israel, kinuna ti dakkel a Bato ti Israel kaniak, 'Ti sililinteg a mangiturturay kadagiti tattao, a mangiturturay nga addaan iti panagbuteng iti Dios.
4 He will be like the morning light when the sun rises, a morning without clouds, when the tender grass springs up from the earth through bright sunshine after rain.
Kaiyarigannanto ti lawag iti agsapa iti kanito a sumingsingising ti init, maysa nga agsapa nga awan ti ulep, a panagrusing dagiti naganus a ruot iti daga babaen iti naraniag a singising ti init kalpasan iti tudo.
5 Indeed, is my family not like this before God? Has he not made an everlasting covenant with me, ordered and sure in every way? Does he not increase my salvation and fulfill my every desire?
Kinapudnona, saan kadi a kastoy ti pamiliak iti imatang ti Dios? Saan kadi a nakitulag isuna kaniak iti agnanayon, nabilin ken saan a mabaliwan iti amin a wagas? Saan kadi a patalgedenna ti pannakaisalakanko ken ibanagna ti tunggal tarigagayko?
6 But the worthless will all be like thorns to be thrown away, because they cannot be gathered by one's hands.
Ngem dagiti awan serserbina ket maiyarigdanto amin kadagiti siit a maibelleng, gapu ta saan ida a maurnong dagiti ima iti siasinoman.
7 The man who touches them must use an iron tool or the shaft of a spear. They must be burned up where they lie.'”
Ti tao a mangsagid kadagitoy ket masapul nga agaramat iti landok wenno putan ti gayang: masapul a mapuoranda iti ayanda.'”
8 These are the names of David's mighty men: Jeshbaal the Hachmonite was the leader of the mighty men. He killed eight hundred men on one occasion.
Dagitoy dagiti nagan dagiti mabigbigbig a soldado ni David: Ni Jesbaal a Hacmonita ket isu ti pangulo dagiti mabigbigbig a soldado. Nakapatay isuna iti walo gasut a lallaki iti naminsan a ranget.
9 After him was Eleazar son of Dodai the Ahohite, one of the three mighty men. He was with David when they taunted the Philistines who had gathered together to do battle, and when the men of Israel had retreated.
Sumaruno kenkuana ket ni Eleazar a putot ni Dodo a putot ti maysa nga Ahohita a maysa kadagiti tallo a nasisiglat a tattao ni David. Adda isuna idi kinaritda dagiti Filisteo a naguummong tapno makigubat, ken idi nagsanod dagiti lallaki ti Israel.
10 Eleazar stood and fought the Philistines until his hand became weary and his hand stiffened to the grip of his sword. Yahweh brought about a great victory that day. The army returned after Eleazar, only to strip the bodies.
Nagtakder ni Eleazar ket kinarangetna dagiti Filisteo agingga a nabannog ken simmikkil dagiti imana ket saannan a maibbatan ti putan ti kampilanna. Nangiyeg ni Yahweh iti naindaklan a balligi iti dayta nga aldaw. Nagsubli dagiti armada kalpasan ni Eleazar tapno laeng rabsutenda dagiti kayatda kadagiti natay.
11 After him was Shammah son of Agee, a Hararite. The Philistines gathered together where there was a field of lentils, and the army fled from them.
Sumaruno kenkuana ni Samma a putot ni Age a taga-Hara. Naguummong dagiti Filisteo iti talon a namulaan iti bukbukel, ket intarayan ida ti armada.
12 But Shammah stood in the middle of the field and defended it. He killed the Philistines, and Yahweh brought about a great victory.
Ngem nagtakder ni Samma iti tengga ti talon ket sinalaknibanna daytoy. Pinatayna dagiti Filisteo, ket nangyeg ni Yahweh iti naindaklan a balligi.
13 Three of the thirty soldiers went down to David at harvest time, to the cave of Adullam. The army of the Philistines was camped in the Valley of Rephaim.
Tallo kadagiti tallupulo a soldado ti simmalog iti ayan ni David iti panawen ti panagaapit, iti rukib ti Adullam. Nagkampo ti armada dagiti Filisteo iti tanap ti Refaim.
14 At that time David was in his stronghold, a cave, while the Philistines had established at Bethlehem.
Iti dayta a tiempo adda idi ni David iti paglemlemmenganna a maysa a rukib, kabayatan iti panagkampo dagiti Filisteo idiay Betlehem.
15 David was longing for water and said, “If only someone would give me water to drink from the well at Bethlehem, the well that is by the gate!”
Mawaw idi ni David ket kinunana, “No adda la koma mangted kaniak iti danum nga inumek a naggapu iti bubon idiay Betlehem, ti bubon nga adda iti asideg ti ruangan!”
16 So these three mighty men broke through the army of the Philistines and drew water out of the well of Bethlehem, the well at the gate. They took the water and brought it to David, but he refused to drink it. Instead, he poured it out to Yahweh.
Isu a sinarakusok dagitoy a tallo a nasisiglat a lallaki ti armada dagiti Filisteo ket napanda simmakdo iti danum idiay bubon ti Betlehem, ti bubon nga adda iti ruangan. Innalada ti danum ket impanda kenni David, ngem nagkedked isuna nga inumen daytoy. Ngem ketdi, imbuyatna daytoy a kas datonna kenni Yahweh.
17 Then he said, “Yahweh, far be it from me, that I should do this. Should I drink the blood of men who have risked their lives?” So he refused to drink it. These things were done by the three mighty.
Ket kinunana, “Iyadayom kaniak, Yahweh, nga inumek daytoy. Rumbeng kadi nga inumek ti dara dagiti lallaki a nangipusta iti biagda?” Isu a nagkedked isuna nga inumen daytoy. Dagitoy dagiti banbanag nga inaramid dagiti tallo a nasisiglat a lallaki.
18 Abishai, brother of Joab and son of Zeruiah, was captain over the three. He once fought with his spear against three hundred men and killed them. He was often mentioned along with the three soldiers.
Ni Abisai a kabsat ni Joab a putot ni Zeruyas, ti kapitan dagiti tallo. Adda naminsan a nakiranget isuna babaen iti gayangna iti tallo gasut a lallaki ket pinatayna ida. Masansan a madakamat isuna a kadua dagiti tallo a soldado.
19 Was he not even more famous than the three? He was made their captain. However, his fame did not equal the fame of the three most famous soldiers.
Saan kadi a nalatlatak isuna ngem kadagiti tallo? Isuna ti nagbalin a kapitanda. Nupay kasta, ti kinalatakna ket saan a kas iti kinalatak dagiti tallo a kalalatakan a soldado.
20 Benaiah from Kabzeel was the son of Jehoiada; he was a strong man who did mighty feats. He killed the two sons of Ariel of Moab. He also went down into a pit and killed a lion while it was snowing.
Ni Benaias a taga-Kabzeel ket putot ni Jehoyada; maysa isuna a napigsa a lalaki a nakaaramid kadagiti aramid a mangipakita iti kinatured. Pinatayna dagiti dua a putot ni Ariel a taga-Moab. Bimmaba pay isuna iti maysa nga abut ket pinatayna ti maysa a leon kabayatan nga agtudtudo iti niebe.
21 Then he killed a very large Egyptian man. The Egyptian had a spear in his hand, but Benaiah fought against him with only a staff. He seized the spear out of the Egyptian's hand and then killed him with his own spear.
Ken napatayna ti maysa a nagdakkel a lalaki nga Egipcio. Nakaiggem iti gayang daytoy nga Egipcio, ngem kinaranget daytoy ni Benaias babaen laeng iti sarukod. Inagawna ti gayang manipud iti ima ti Egipcio ket pinatayna isuna babaen iti daytoy met laeng a gayang.
22 Benaiah son of Jehoiada did these feats, and he was named alongside the three mighty men.
Inaramid ni Benaias aputot ni Jehoyada dagitoy a kinatured, ket nainaganan isuna a kadua dagiti tallo a nasisiglat a lallaki.
23 He was more highly regarded than the thirty soldiers in general, but he was not regarded quite as highly as the three mighty men. Yet David put him in charge of his bodyguard.
Mararaem isuna ngem dagiti tallopulo a soldado, ngem saan isuna a mararaem a kas kadagiti tallo a mabigbigbig a soldado. Nupay kasta, isuna ti dinutokan ni David a mangimaton kadagiti guardiana.
