2 Kings 1
1 Moab rebelled against Israel after the death of Ahab.
ಅಹಾಬನ ಮರಣದ ನಂತರ ಮೋವಾಬ್ಯರು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರ ವಿರುದ್ಧ ದಂಗೆ ಎದ್ದರು.
2 Then Ahaziah fell down through the lattice in his upper chamber in Samaria, and was injured. So he sent for messengers and said to them, “Go, ask Baal-Zebub, the god of Ekron, whether I will recover from this injury.”
ಅಹಜ್ಯನು ಸಮಾರ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿದ್ದ ತನ್ನ ಮೇಲುಪ್ಪರಿಗೆಯ ಕಿಟಕಿಯೊಂದರಿಂದ ಬಿದ್ದು ಅಸ್ವಸ್ಥನಾಗಿದ್ದನು. ಅವನು ತನ್ನ ಸೇವಕರನ್ನು ಕರೆದು, “ಎಕ್ರೋನಿನ ದೇವರಾದ ‘ಬಾಳ್ ಜೆಬೂಬನ’ ಸನ್ನಿಧಿಗೆ ಹೋಗಿ, ನಾನು ಈ ಅಸ್ವಸ್ಥತೆಯಿಂದ ಗುಣವಾಗುವೆನೋ ಇಲ್ಲವೋ? ಎಂದು ವಿಚಾರಿಸಿ ಬನ್ನಿ,” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿ ಕಳುಹಿಸಿದನು.
3 But the angel of Yahweh said to Elijah the Tishbite, “Arise, go up to meet the messengers of the king of Samaria, and ask them, 'Is it because there is no God in Israel that you are going to consult with Baal-Zebub, the god of Ekron?
ಆದರೆ ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರ ದೂತನು ತಿಷ್ಬೀಯನಾದ ಎಲೀಯನಿಗೆ, “ನೀನೆದ್ದು ಸಮಾರ್ಯದ ಅರಸನ ಸೇವಕರಿಗೆ ಎದುರಾಗಿ ಹೋಗಿ ಅವರಿಗೆ, ‘ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲಿನಲ್ಲಿ ದೇವರು ಇಲ್ಲವೆ? ನೀವು ಎಕ್ರೋನಿನ ದೇವರಾದ ಬಾಳ್ ಜೆಬೂಬನನ್ನು ವಿಚಾರಿಸಲು ಹೋಗುತ್ತಿರುವುದೇಕೆ?
4 Therefore Yahweh says, “You will not come down from the bed to where you have gone up; instead, you will certainly die.”'” Then Elijah left.
ಇದರ ನಿಮಿತ್ತ ನೀನು ಏರಿದ ಮಂಚದಿಂದ ಇಳಿಯದೆ, ನಿಶ್ಚಯವಾಗಿ ಸಾಯುವೆ,’ ಎಂದು ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರು ಹೇಳುತ್ತಾರೆ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳು,” ಎಂದರು. ಆಗ ಎಲೀಯನು ಹೊರಟುಹೋಗಿ ಅದರಂತೆ ಹೇಳಿದನು.
5 When the messengers returned to Ahaziah, he said to them, “Why have you returned?”
ಸೇವಕರು ಅರಸನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಹಿಂದಿರುಗಿ ಬಂದಾಗ, ಅವನು ಅವರಿಗೆ, “ನೀವು ಹಿಂದಿರುಗಿ ಬಂದದ್ದೇಕೆ?” ಎಂದನು.
6 They said to him, “A man came to meet us who said to us, 'Go back to the king who sent you, and say to him, “Yahweh says this: 'Is it because there is no God in Israel that you sent men to consult with Baal-Zebub, the god of Ekron? Therefore you will not come down from the bed to which you have gone up; instead, you will certainly die.'”'”
ಅವರು ಅರಸನಿಗೆ, “ಒಬ್ಬ ಮನುಷ್ಯನು ನಮಗೆ ಎದುರಾಗಿ ಬಂದು, ‘ನೀವು ನಿಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಕಳುಹಿಸಿದ ಅರಸನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಹಿಂದಿರುಗಿ ಹೋಗಿ, ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರು ಹೇಳುವುದು ಏನೆಂದರೆ: ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲಿನಲ್ಲಿ ದೇವರು ಇಲ್ಲವೆ? ನೀನು ಎಕ್ರೋನಿನ ದೇವರಾದ ಬಾಳ್ ಜೆಬೂಬನನ್ನು ವಿಚಾರಿಸಲು ಜನರನ್ನು ಕಳುಹಿಸಿರುತ್ತೀ? ಇದರ ನಿಮಿತ್ತ, ನೀನು ಏರಿದ ಮಂಚದಿಂದ ಇಳಿಯದೆ, ನಿಶ್ಚಯವಾಗಿ ಸಾಯುವೆ,’ ಎಂಬುದಾಗಿ ಅವನಿಗೆ ಹೇಳಿರಿ, ಎಂದು ತಿಳಿಸಿದನು,” ಎಂದರು.
7 Ahaziah said to his messengers, “What sort of man was he, the one who came up to meet you and said these words to you?”
ಅರಸನು ಅವರಿಗೆ, “ನಿಮಗೆದುರಾಗಿ ಬಂದು ಈ ಮಾತುಗಳನ್ನು ನಿಮಗೆ ಹೇಳಿದ ಆ ಮನುಷ್ಯನು ಹೇಗಿದ್ದನು?” ಎಂದು ಕೇಳಿದನು.
8 They answered him, “He wore a garment made of hair and had a leather belt wrapped around his waist.” So the king replied, “That is Elijah the Tishbite.”
ಅದಕ್ಕವರು, “ಅವನು ಕಂಬಳಿಯನ್ನು ಹೊದ್ದುಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದನು; ಅವನ ಸೊಂಟಕ್ಕೆ ಸುತ್ತಲೂ ತೊಗಲಿನ ನಡುಕಟ್ಟು ಇತ್ತು,” ಎಂದರು. ಆಗ ಅರಸನು, “ಅವನು ತಿಷ್ಬೀಯನಾದ ಎಲೀಯನೇ ಆಗಿರಬೇಕು,” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದನು.
9 Then the king sent a captain with fifty soldiers to Elijah. The captain went up to Elijah where he was sitting on the top of a hill. The captain spoke to him, “You, man of God, the king has said, 'Come down.'”
ಆಗ ಅರಸನು ಒಬ್ಬ ಪ್ರಧಾನನನ್ನು, ಅವನ ಐವತ್ತು ಮಂದಿ ಸಿಪಾಯಿಗಳೊಡನೆ ಎಲೀಯನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಕಳುಹಿಸಿದನು. ಪ್ರಧಾನನು ಅವನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಹೋದಾಗ, ಇಗೋ, ಎಲೀಯನು ಬೆಟ್ಟದ ತುದಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಕುಳಿತಿದ್ದನು. ಆಗ ಅವನು ಎಲೀಯನಿಗೆ, “ದೇವರ ಮನುಷ್ಯನೇ, ‘ಇಳಿದು ಬಾ,’ ಎಂದು ಅರಸನು ಹೇಳುತ್ತಾನೆ,” ಎಂದನು.
10 Elijah answered and said to the captain, “If I am a man of God, let fire come down from heaven and consume you and your fifty men.” Then fire came down from heaven and consumed him and his fifty men.
ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಎಲೀಯನು ಪ್ರಧಾನನಿಗೆ ಉತ್ತರವಾಗಿ, “ನಾನು ದೇವರ ಮನುಷ್ಯನಾಗಿದ್ದರೆ, ಬೆಂಕಿಯು ಆಕಾಶದಿಂದ ಇಳಿದು ನಿನ್ನನ್ನೂ ನಿನ್ನ ಐವತ್ತು ಮಂದಿಯನ್ನೂ ದಹಿಸಿಬಿಡಲಿ,” ಎಂದನು. ಆಗ ಬೆಂಕಿಯು ಆಕಾಶದಿಂದ ಇಳಿದು ಅವನನ್ನೂ ಅವನ ಐವತ್ತು ಮಂದಿಯನ್ನೂ ದಹಿಸಿಬಿಟ್ಟಿತು.
11 Again King Ahaziah sent to Elijah another captain with fifty soldiers. This captain also said to Elijah, “You, man of God, the king says, 'Come down quickly.'”
ತಿರುಗಿ ಅರಸನು ಎಲೀಯನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಐವತ್ತು ಮಂದಿಯ ಪ್ರಧಾನನನ್ನೂ ಅವನ ಐವತ್ತು ಮಂದಿಯನ್ನೂ ಕಳುಹಿಸಿದನು. ಅವನು ಬಂದು ಇವನಿಗೆ, “ದೇವರ ಮನುಷ್ಯನೇ, ‘ಬೇಗನೆ ಇಳಿದು ಬಾ,’ ಎಂದು ಅರಸನು ಹೇಳುತ್ತಾನೆ,” ಎಂದನು.
12 Elijah answered and said to them, “If I am a man of God, let fire come down from heaven and consume you and your fifty men.” Again the fire of God came down from heaven and consumed him and his fifty men.
ಎಲೀಯನು ಅವರಿಗೆ ಉತ್ತರವಾಗಿ, “ನಾನು ದೇವರ ಮನುಷ್ಯನಾಗಿದ್ದರೆ, ಬೆಂಕಿಯು ಆಕಾಶದಿಂದ ಇಳಿದು ನಿನ್ನನ್ನೂ ನಿನ್ನ ಐವತ್ತು ಮಂದಿಯನ್ನೂ ದಹಿಸಿಬಿಡಲಿ,” ಎಂದನು. ಆಗ ದೇವರ ಬೆಂಕಿಯು ಆಕಾಶದಿಂದ ಇಳಿದು ಅವನನ್ನೂ ಅವನ ಐವತ್ತು ಮಂದಿಯನ್ನೂ ಸುಟ್ಟುಬಿಟ್ಟಿತು.
13 Yet again the king sent a third group of fifty warriors. This captain went up, fell on his knees before Elijah, and implored him and said to him, “You, man of God, I ask you, let my life and the life of these fifty servants of yours be precious in your sight.
ತಿರುಗಿ ಅರಸನು ಐವತ್ತು ಮಂದಿಯ ಪ್ರಧಾನನಾದ ಮೂರನೆಯವನನ್ನೂ, ಅವನ ಐವತ್ತು ಮಂದಿಯನ್ನೂ ಕಳುಹಿಸಿದನು. ಈ ಐವತ್ತು ಮಂದಿಗೆ ಪ್ರಧಾನನಾದ ಮೂರನೆಯವನು ಬಂದು ಎಲೀಯನ ಮುಂದೆ ತನ್ನ ಮೊಣಕಾಲೂರಿಕೊಂಡು ಅವನಿಗೆ, “ದೇವರ ಮನುಷ್ಯನೇ, ನೀನು ದಯಮಾಡು, ನನ್ನ ಪ್ರಾಣವೂ, ನಿನ್ನ ಸೇವಕರಾದ ಈ ಐವತ್ತು ಮಂದಿಯ ಪ್ರಾಣಗಳೂ ನಿನ್ನ ಸಮ್ಮುಖದಲ್ಲಿ ಮೌಲ್ಯವುಳ್ಳದ್ದಾಗಿರಲಿ.
14 Indeed, fire came down from heaven and consumed the first two captains with their men, but now let my life be precious in your sight.”
ಇಗೋ, ಬೆಂಕಿಯು ಆಕಾಶದಿಂದ ಇಳಿದು ಮೊದಲಿನ ಇಬ್ಬರು ಪ್ರಧಾನರನ್ನೂ, ಅವರ ಐವತ್ತು ಮಂದಿಯನ್ನೂ ದಹಿಸಿಬಿಟ್ಟಿತು. ಆದರೆ ಈಗ ನನ್ನ ಪ್ರಾಣವು ನಿನ್ನ ಸಮ್ಮುಖದಲ್ಲಿ ಮೌಲ್ಯವುಳ್ಳದ್ದಾಗಿರಲಿ,” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿ ಅವನನ್ನು ಬೇಡಿಕೊಂಡನು.
15 The angel of Yahweh said to Elijah, “Go down with him. Do not be afraid of him.” So Elijah arose and went down with him to the king.
ಆಗ ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರ ದೂತನು ಎಲೀಯನಿಗೆ, “ಅವನ ಸಂಗಡ ಇಳಿದು ಹೋಗು, ಅವನಿಗೆ ಭಯಪಡಬೇಡ,” ಎಂದನು. ಆದ್ದರಿಂದ ಎಲೀಯನು ಎದ್ದು ಅವನ ಸಂಗಡ ಅರಸನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಇಳಿದು ಹೋದನು.
16 Later Elijah said to Ahaziah, “This is what Yahweh says, 'You have sent messengers to consult with Baal-Zebub, the god of Ekron. Is it because there is no God in Israel from whom you can ask for information? So now, you will not come down from the bed where you have gone up; you will certainly die.'”
ಅರಸನಿಗೆ, “ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರ ವಾಕ್ಯವನ್ನು ವಿಚಾರಿಸಲು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲಿನಲ್ಲಿ ದೇವರಿಲ್ಲವೆಂಬ ಹಾಗೆ ನೀನು ಎಕ್ರೋನಿನ ದೇವರಾದ ಬಾಳ್ ಜೆಬೂಬನ್ನು ವಿಚಾರಿಸಲು ದೂತರನ್ನು ಕಳುಹಿಸಿದ ಕಾರಣ, ‘ನೀನು ಏರಿದ ಮಂಚದಿಂದ ಇಳಿಯದೆ ನಿಶ್ಚಯವಾಗಿ ಸಾಯುವೆ,’ ಎಂದು ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರು ಹೇಳುತ್ತಾರೆ,” ಎಂದನು.
17 So King Ahaziah died according to the word of Yahweh that Elijah had spoken. Joram began to reign in his place, in the second year of Jehoram son of Jehoshaphat king of Judah, because Ahaziah had no son.
ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ಅವನು ಎಲೀಯನು ಹೇಳಿದ ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರ ವಾಕ್ಯದ ಪ್ರಕಾರವೇ ಸತ್ತುಹೋದನು. ಅಹಜ್ಯನಿಗೆ ಮಗನಿಲ್ಲದ್ದರಿಂದ ಯೆಹೂದದ ಅರಸನಾದ ಯೆಹೋಷಾಫಾಟನ ಮಗ ಯೆಹೋರಾಮನ ಎರಡನೆಯ ವರ್ಷದಲ್ಲಿ ಯೋರಾಮನು ಅವನಿಗೆ ಬದಲಾಗಿ ಅರಸನಾದನು.
18 As for the other matters concerning Ahaziah, are they not written in the book of the events of the kings of Israel?
ಅಹಜ್ಯನು ಮಾಡಿದ ಇತರ ಕ್ರಿಯೆಗಳು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲಿನ ಅರಸುಗಳ ಇತಿಹಾಸಗಳ ಪುಸ್ತಕದಲ್ಲಿ ಬರೆದಿರುತ್ತವೆ.
