2 Kings 20
1 In those days Hezekiah was sick to the point of dying. So Isaiah son of Amoz, the prophet came to him, and said to him, “Yahweh says, 'Set your house in order; for you will die, and not live.'”
௧அந்நாட்களில் எசேக்கியா வியாதிப்பட்டு மரணத்தருவாயில் இருந்தான்; அப்பொழுது ஆமோத்சின் மகனாகிய ஏசாயா என்னும் தீர்க்கதரிசி அவனிடத்தில் வந்து, அவனை நோக்கி: நீர் உமது வீட்டுக்காரியத்தை ஒழுங்குப்படுத்தும்; நீர் பிழைக்கமாட்டீர், இறந்துபோவீர் என்று யெகோவ சொல்லுகிறார் என்றான்.
2 Then Hezekiah turned his face to the wall and prayed to Yahweh, saying,
௨அப்பொழுது எசேக்கியா தன் முகத்தைச் சுவர்ப்புறமாகத் திருப்பிக்கொண்டு, யெகோவவை நோக்கி:
3 “Please, Yahweh, call to mind how I have faithfully walked before you with my whole heart, and how I have done what was good in your sight.” Then Hezekiah wept loudly.
௩ஆ யெகோவவே, நான் உமக்கு முன்பாக உண்மையும் மனஉத்தமமுமாக நடந்து, உமது பார்வைக்கு நலமானதைச் செய்தேன் என்பதை நினைத்தருளும் என்று விண்ணப்பம்செய்தான். எசேக்கியா மிகவும் அழுதான்.
4 Before Isaiah had gone out into the middle courtyard, the word of Yahweh came to him, saying,
௪ஏசாயா பாதி முற்றத்தைவிட்டு அப்புறம் போகிறதற்குமுன்னே, யெகோவவுடைய வார்த்தை அவனுக்கு உண்டாகி, அவர் சொன்னது:
5 “Turn back, and say to Hezekiah, the leader of my people, 'This is what Yahweh, the God of David your ancestor, says: “I have heard your prayer, and I have seen your tears. I am about to heal you on the third day, and you will go up to the house of Yahweh.
௫நீ திரும்பிப்போய், என் மக்களின் அதிபதியாகிய எசேக்கியாவை நோக்கி: உன் தகப்பனாகிய தாவீதின் தேவனாயிருக்கிற யெகோவ சொல்லுகிறது என்னவென்றால்: உன் விண்ணப்பத்தைக் கேட்டேன், உன் கண்ணீரைக் கண்டேன்; இதோ, நான் உன்னைக் குணமாக்குவேன்; மூன்றாம் நாளிலே நீ யெகோவவுடைய ஆலயத்திற்குப் போவாய்.
6 I will add fifteen years to your life, and I will rescue you and this city from the hand of the king of Assyria, and I will defend this city for my own sake and for my servant David's sake.”'”
௬உன் நாட்களோடே பதினைந்து வருடங்களைக் கூட்டுவேன்; உன்னையும் இந்த நகரத்தையும் அசீரியா ராஜாவின் கைக்குத் தப்புவித்து, என்னிமித்தமும் என் தாசனாகிய தாவீதின்நிமித்தமும் இந்த நகரத்திற்கு ஆதரவாக இருப்பேன் என்று சொல் என்றார்.
7 So Isaiah said, “Take a lump of figs.” They did so and put it on his boil, and he recovered.
௭பின்பு ஏசாயா: அத்திப்பழ அடையைக் கொண்டுவாருங்கள் என்றான்; அதை அவர்கள் கொண்டுவந்து, புண்ணின்மேல் பற்றுப்போட்டபோது அவன் பிழைத்தான்.
8 Hezekiah said to Isaiah, “What will be the sign that Yahweh will heal me, and that I should go up to the temple of Yahweh on the third day?”
௮எசேக்கியா ஏசாயாவை நோக்கி: யெகோவ என்னைக் குணமாக்குவதற்கும், மூன்றாம் நாளிலே நான் யெகோவவுடைய ஆலயத்திற்குப் போவதற்கும் அடையாளம் என்ன என்றான்.
9 Isaiah replied, “This will be the sign for you from Yahweh, that Yahweh will do the thing that he has spoken. Shall the shadow go forward ten steps, or go back ten steps?”
௯அதற்கு ஏசாயா: யெகோவ தாம் சொன்ன வார்த்தையின்படியே செய்வார் என்பதற்கு, யெகோவாவால் உனக்கு உண்டாகும் அடையாளமாக நிழல் பத்துகோடுகள் முன்னோக்கிப் போகவேண்டுமோ, பத்துகோடுகள் பின்னோக்கித் திரும்ப வேண்டுமோ என்று கேட்டான்.
10 Hezekiah answered, “It is an easy thing for the shadow to go forward ten steps. No, let the shadow go backward ten steps.”
௧0அதற்கு எசேக்கியா: நிழல் பத்துகோடுகள் முன்னோக்கிப்போவது எளிதான காரியம்; அப்படி வேண்டாம்; நிழல் பத்துகோடுகள் பின்னோக்கித் திரும்பவேண்டும் என்றான்.
11 So Isaiah the prophet cried out to Yahweh, and he brought the shadow ten steps backward, from where it had moved on the stairway of Ahaz.
௧௧அப்பொழுது ஏசாயா தீர்க்கதரிசி யெகோவாவை நோக்கிக் கூப்பிடும்போது, அவர் ஆகாசுடைய சூரிய கடிகாரத்தில் கோட்டுக்கு கோடு முன்னோக்கிச் சென்ற நிழல் பத்துகோடுகள் பின்னோக்கித் திரும்பும்படி செய்தார்.
12 At that time Marduk-Baladan son of Baladan king of Babylon sent letters and a gift to Hezekiah, for he had heard that Hezekiah had been sick.
௧௨அக்காலத்திலே பலாதானின் மகனாகிய பெரோதாக்பலாதான் என்னும் பாபிலோனின் ராஜா எசேக்கியா வியாதிப்பட்டிருக்கிறதைக் கேட்டு, அவனிடத்திற்கு கடிதங்களையும் வெகுமானத்தையும் அனுப்பினான்.
13 Hezekiah listened to those letters, and then showed the messengers all the palace and his valuable things, the silver, the gold, the spices and precious oil, and the storehouse of his weapons, and all that was found in his storehouses. There was nothing in his house, nor in all his kingdom, that Hezekiah did not show them.
௧௩எசேக்கியா அவர்களை அங்கீகரித்து, பின்பு அவர்களுக்குத் தன் பொக்கிஷசாலை அனைத்தையும், வெள்ளியையும், பொன்னையும், கந்தவர்க்கங்களையும், நல்ல பரிமளதைலத்தையும், தன் ஆயுதசாலை அனைத்தையும் தன் பொக்கிஷசாலைகளிலுள்ள எல்லாவற்றையும் காண்பித்தான்; தன் அரண்மனையிலும் தன் ராஜ்ஜியத்தில் எங்கும் எசேக்கியா அவர்களுக்குக் காண்பிக்காத பொருள் ஒன்றும் இல்லை.
14 Then Isaiah the prophet came to King Hezekiah and asked him, “What did these men say to you? Where did they come from?” Hezekiah said, “They came from the distant country of Babylon.”
௧௪அப்பொழுது ஏசாயா தீர்க்கதரிசி எசேக்கியா ராஜாவினிடத்தில் வந்து: அந்த மனிதர்கள் என்ன சொன்னார்கள், எங்கேயிருந்து உம்மிடத்தில் வந்தார்கள் என்று கேட்டான். அதற்கு எசேக்கியா: பாபிலோன் என்னும் தூரதேசத்திலிருந்து வந்தார்கள் என்றான்.
15 Isaiah asked, “What have they seen in your house?” Hezekiah answered, “They have seen everything in my house. There is nothing among my valuable things that I have not shown them.”
௧௫அப்பொழுது அவன்: உம்முடைய வீட்டில் எவைகளைப் பார்த்தார்கள் என்று கேட்டான். அதற்கு எசேக்கியா: என் வீட்டிலுள்ள எல்லாவற்றையும் பார்த்தார்கள்; என் பொக்கிஷங்களில் நான் அவர்களுக்குக் காண்பிக்காத பொருள் ஒன்றும் இல்லை என்றான்.
16 So Isaiah said to Hezekiah, “Listen to the word of Yahweh:
௧௬அப்பொழுது ஏசாயா எசேக்கியாவை நோக்கி: யெகோவாவுடைய வார்த்தையைக் கேளும்.
17 'Look, the days are about to come when everything in your palace, the things that your ancestors stored away until this present day, will be carried to Babylon. Nothing will be left, says Yahweh.
௧௭இதோ, நாட்கள் வரும்; அப்பொழுது உமது வீட்டில் உள்ளதிலும், உமது முன்னோர்கள் இந்நாள்வரைக்கும் சேர்த்ததிலும் ஒன்றும் மீதியாக வைக்கப்படாமல் எல்லாம் பாபிலோனுக்குக் கொண்டுபோகப்படும்.
18 The sons born from you, whom you yourself have fathered—they will take them away, and they will become eunuchs in the palace of the king of Babylon.'”
௧௮நீர் பெறப்போகிற உமது சந்ததியாகிய உமது மகன்களிலும் சிலர் பாபிலோன் ராஜாவின் அரண்மனையிலே அரண்மனை வேலைக்காரர்களாக இருப்பார்கள் என்று யெகோவ சொல்லுகிறார் என்றான்.
19 Then Hezekiah said to Isaiah, “The word of Yahweh that you have spoken is good.” For he thought, “Will there not be peace and stability in my days?”
௧௯அப்பொழுது எசேக்கியா ஏசாயாவை நோக்கி: நீர் சொன்ன யெகோவவுடைய வார்த்தை நல்லதுதான் என்று சொல்லி, என் நாட்களிலாவது சமாதானமும் உண்மையும் இருக்குமே என்றான்.
20 As for the other matters concerning Hezekiah, and all his power, and how he constructed the pool and the conduit, and how he brought water into the city—are they not written in the book of the events of the kings of Judah?
௨0எசேக்கியாவின் மற்ற செயல்பாடுகளும், அவனுடைய எல்லா வல்லமையும், அவன் ஒரு குளத்தையும் வாய்க்காலையும் உண்டாக்கினதினாலே தண்ணீரை நகரத்திற்குள்ளே வரச்செய்ததும், யூதாவுடைய ராஜாக்களின் நாளாகமப் புத்தகத்தில் எழுதப்பட்டிருக்கிறது.
21 Hezekiah slept with his ancestors, and Manasseh his son became king in his place.
௨௧எசேக்கியா இறந்தபின், அவனுடைய மகனாகிய மனாசே அவனுடைய இடத்தில் ராஜாவானான்.
