< 2 Kings 15 >

1 In the twenty-seventh year of Jeroboam king of Israel, Azariah son of Amaziah king of Judah began to reign.

2 Azariah was sixteen years old when he began to reign, and he reigned for fifty-two years in Jerusalem. His mother's name was Jekoliah, and she was from Jerusalem.

3 He did what was right in the eyes of Yahweh, just as his father Amaziah had done.

4 However, the high places were not taken away. The people still sacrificed and burned incense at the high places.

5 Yahweh afflicted the king so that he was a leper to the day of his death and lived in a separate house. Jotham, the king's son, was over the household and ruled the people of the land.
Awo Mukama n’aleetera kabaka obulwadde n’agengewala, ennaku ze zonna okutuusa bwe yafa, era n’aggyibwako emirimu egy’obuvunaanyizibwa n’ateekebwa mu nnyumba ey’enjawulo. Azaliya n’asigira Yosamu mutabani we okuvunaanyizibwanga ensonga zonna ez’omu lubiri, era n’afuganga n’abantu ab’omu nsi.
6 As for the other matters concerning Azariah, all that he did, are they not written in the book of the events of the kings of Judah?

7 So Azariah slept with his ancestors; they buried him with his ancestors in the city of David. Jotham, his son, became king in his place.

8 In the thirty-eighth year of Azariah king of Judah, Zechariah son of Jeroboam reigned over Israel in Samaria for six months.

9 He did what was evil in the sight of Yahweh, as his fathers had done. He did not depart from the sins of Jeroboam son of Nebat, who had caused Israel to sin.
N’akola ebibi mu maaso ga Mukama, nga bajjajjaabe bwe baakola, n’atakyuka okuva mu bibi bya Yerobowaamu mutabani wa Nebati bye yayonoonyesa Isirayiri.
10 Shallum son of Jabesh conspired against Zechariah, attacked him in Ibleam, and killed him. Then he became king in his place.
Awo Sallumu mutabani wa Yabesi, n’asala olukwe n’amuttira mu lujjudde lw’abantu, era n’alya obwakabaka.
11 As for the other matters concerning Zechariah, they are written in the book of the events of the kings of Israel.
Ebyafaayo ebirala ebyabaawo mu mirembe gya Zekkaliya, byawandiikibwa mu kitabo eky’ebyomumirembe gya bassekabaka ba Isirayiri.
12 This was the word of Yahweh that he spoke to Jehu, saying, “Your descendants will sit on the throne of Israel to the fourth generation.” That is what happened.
Awo ekigambo Mukama kye yagamba Yeeku ne kituukirira, era kyali kigamba nti, “Bazzukulu bo balirya obwakabaka bwa Isirayiri okutuusa ku muzzukulu owookuna.”
13 Shallum son of Jabesh began to reign in the thirty-ninth year of Azariah king of Judah, and he reigned only one month in Samaria.
Awo Sallumu mutabani wa Yabesi n’atandika okufuga mu mwaka ogw’amakumi asatu mu mwenda ogw’obufuzi bwa Uzziya kabaka wa Yuda, era n’afugira omwezi gumu mu Samaliya.
14 Menahem son of Gadi went up from Tirzah to Samaria. There he attacked Shallum son of Jabesh, in Samaria. He killed him and became king in his place.
Menakemu mutabani wa Gaadi n’ava e Tiruza n’agenda okulumba Sallumu mutabani wa Yabesi e Samaliya, era n’amutta. Ye n’afuuka kabaka mu kifo kye.
15 As for the other matters concerning Shallum and the conspiracy that he formed, they are written in the book of the events of the kings of Israel.

16 Then Menahem attacked Tiphsah and all who were there, and the borders around Tirzah, because they did not open up the city to him. So he attacked it, and he ripped open all the pregnant women in that village.

17 In the thirty-ninth year of Azariah king of Judah, Menahem son of Gadi began to reign over Israel; he reigned ten years in Samaria.

18 He did what was evil in the sight of Yahweh. For his whole life, he did not depart from the sins of Jeroboam son of Nebat, who had caused Israel to sin.
Yakola ebibi mu maaso ga Mukama, era ebbanga lyonna we yabeerera kabaka, n’atakyuka kuleka bibi bya Yerobowaamu mutabani wa Nebati bye yayonoonyesa Isirayiri.
19 Then Pul the king of Assyria came against the land, and Menahem gave Pul one thousand talents of silver, so that Pul's support might be with him to strengthen the kingdom of Israel in his hand.
Awo Puli kabaka w’e Bwasuli n’alumba Isirayiri, naye Menakemu n’amusuubiza okumuwa ttani amakumi asatu mu nnya eza ffeeza ng’amusaba okumuwanirira n’okumunyweza ku ntebe ey’obwakabaka.
20 Menahem exacted this money from Israel by requiring each of the wealthy men to pay fifty shekels of silver to him to give to the king of Assyria. So the king of Assyria turned back and did not stay there in the land.

21 As for the other matters concerning Menahem, and all that he did, are they not written in the book of the events of the kings of Israel?

22 So Menahem slept with his ancestors, and Pekahiah his son became king in his place.
Menakemu n’afa, Pekakiya mutabani we n’amusikira okuba kabaka.
23 In the fiftieth year of Azariah king of Judah, Pekahiah son of Menahem began to reign over Israel in Samaria; he reigned two years.
Mu mwaka ogw’amakumi ataano ogw’obufuzi bwa Azaliya kabaka wa Yuda, Pekakiya mutabani wa Menakemu n’alya obwakabaka bwa Isirayiri mu Samaliya, era n’afugira emyaka ebiri.
24 He did what was evil in the sight of Yahweh. He did not leave behind the sins of Jeroboam son of Nebat, by which he had caused Israel to sin.
Yakola ebibi mu maaso ga Mukama, n’atakyuka kuleka bibi bya Yerobowaamu mutabani wa Nebati bye yayonoonyesa Isirayiri.
25 Pekahiah had an officer named Pekah son of Remaliah, who conspired against him. Along with fifty men of Gilead, Pekah killed Pekahiah as well as Argob and Arieh in Samaria, in the citadel of the king's palace. Pekah killed Pekahiah and became king in his place.

26 As for the other matters concerning Pekahiah, all that he did, they are written in the book of the events of the kings of Israel.

27 In the fifty-second year of Azariah king of Judah, Pekah son of Remaliah began to reign over Israel in Samaria; he reigned twenty years.
Mu mwaka ogw’amakumi ataano mu ebiri ogw’obufuzi bwa Azaliya kabaka wa Yuda, Peka mutabani wa Lemaliya n’alya obwakabaka bwa Isirayiri mu Samaliya, era n’afugira emyaka amakumi abiri.
28 He did what was evil in the sight of Yahweh. He did not depart from the sins of Jeroboam son of Nebat, who had caused Israel to sin.
Yakola ebibi bya Yerobowaamu mutabani wa Nebati bye yayonoonyesa Isirayiri.
29 In the days of Pekah king of Israel, Tiglath-Pileser king of Assyria came and took Ijon, Abel Beth Maacah, Janoah, Kedesh, Hazor, Gilead, Galilee, and all the land of Naphtali. He carried away the people to Assyria.
Mu biro bya Peka kabaka wa Isirayiri, Tigulasupireseri kabaka w’e Bwasuli n’alumba ebibuga: by’e Iyoni, n’e Aberubesumaaka, n’e Yanoa, n’e Kedesi, n’e Kazoli, n’e Gireyaadi n’e Ggaliraaya, n’ensi yonna eya Nafutaali, abantu baayo n’abatwala nga basibe e Bwasuli.
30 So Hoshea son of Elah formed a conspiracy against Pekah son of Remaliah. He attacked him and killed him. Then he became king in his place, in the twentieth year of Jotham son of Uzziah.

31 As for the other matters concerning Pekah, all that he did, they are written in the book of the events of the kings of Israel.
Ebyafaayo ebirala ebyabaawo mu mirembe gya Peka, ne bye yakola byonna byawandiikibwa mu kitabo eky’ebyomumirembe gya bassekabaka ba Isirayiri.
32 In the second year of Pekah son of Remaliah, king of Israel, Jotham son of Azariah, king of Judah began to reign.
Mu mwaka ogwokubiri ogw’obufuzi bwa Peka mutabani wa Lemaliya, Yosamu mutabani wa Uzziya n’alya obwakabaka bwa Yuda.
33 He was twenty-five years old when he began to reign; he reigned sixteen years in Jerusalem. His mother's name was Jerushah; she was the daughter of Zadok.
Yali wa myaka amakumi abiri mu etaano we yatandikira okufuga, era n’afugira emyaka kkumi na mukaaga mu Yerusaalemi, ne nnyina erinnya lye nga ye Yerusa muwala wa Zadooki.
34 Jotham did what was right in the eyes of Yahweh. He followed the example of all his father Azariah had done.

35 However, the high places were not taken away. The people still sacrificed and burned incense at the high places. Jotham built the upper gate of the house of Yahweh.
Naye ebifo ebigulumivu tebyaggibwawo, era abantu ne beeyongeranga okuweerangayo ssaddaaka n’okwoterezangako obubaane. Yaddaabiriza n’Omulyango ogw’ekyengulu ogwa yeekaalu ya Mukama.
36 As for the other matters concerning Jotham, and all that he did, are they not written in the book of the events of the kings of Judah?
Ebyafaayo ebirala ebyabaawo mu mirembe gya Yosamu, ne bye yakola byonna, tebyawandiikibwa mu kitabo eky’ebyomumirembe gya bassekabaka ba Yuda?
37 In those days Yahweh began to send against Judah Rezin the king of Aram, and Pekah son of Remaliah.
Mu biro ebyo Mukama n’atandika okusindikira Yuda abalabe nga Lezini kabaka w’e Busuuli ne Peka mutabani wa Lemaliya.
38 Jotham slept with his ancestors and was buried with his ancestors in the city of David, his ancestor. Then Ahaz, his son, became king in his place.
Yosamu n’afa, n’aziikibwa ku biggya bya bajjajjaabe mu kibuga kya Dawudi jjajjaawe, Akazi mutabani we n’amusikira okuba kabaka.
