2 Kings 13
1 In the twenty-third year of Joash son of Ahaziah king of Judah, Jehoahaz son of Jehu began to reign over Israel in Samaria; he reigned seventeen years.
௧அகசியா என்னும் யூதாவுடைய ராஜாவின் மகனாகிய யோவாசுடைய இருபத்துமூன்றாம் வருட ஆட்சியில் யெகூவின் மகனாகிய யோவாகாஸ் இஸ்ரவேலின்மேல் சமாரியாவிலே பதினேழுவருடங்கள் அரசாட்சிசெய்து,
2 He did what was evil in the sight of Yahweh and followed the sins of Jeroboam son of Nebat, who caused Israel to sin; and Jehoahaz did not turn away from them.
௨யெகோவாவின் பார்வைக்குப் பொல்லாப்பானதைச் செய்து, இஸ்ரவேலைப் பாவம்செய்யவைத்த நேபாத்தின் மகனாகிய யெரொபெயாமின் பாவங்களைப் பின்பற்றி நடந்தான்; அவைகளைவிட்டு அவன் விலகவில்லை.
3 The anger of Yahweh burned against Israel, and he gave them continually into the hand of Hazael king of Aram and into the hand of Ben Hadad son of Hazael.
௩ஆகையால் யெகோவாவுக்கு இஸ்ரவேலர்களின்மேல் கோபமூண்டு, அவர்களைச் சீரியாவின் ராஜாவாகிய ஆசகேலின் கையிலும் ஆசகேலின் மகனாகிய பெனாதாத்தின் கையிலும் அந்நாட்களிலெல்லாம் ஒப்புக்கொடுத்தார்.
4 So Jehoahaz implored Yahweh, and Yahweh listened to him because he saw the oppression of Israel, how the king of Aram was oppressing them.
௪யோவாகாஸ் யெகோவாவுடைய சமுகத்தை நோக்கிப் பிரார்த்தித்தான்; சீரியாவின் ராஜா இஸ்ரவேலை ஒடுக்குகிறதால் அவர்கள் ஒடுங்கிப்போகிறதைப் பார்த்து: யெகோவா அவனுக்குச் செவிகொடுத்தார்.
5 So Yahweh gave Israel a rescuer, and they escaped from the hand of the Arameans, and the people of Israel began to live in their homes as they had before.
௫யெகோவா இஸ்ரவேலுக்கு ஒரு ரட்சகனைக் கொடுத்ததால், அவர்கள் சீரியருடைய ஆளுகையின்கீழிருந்து விடுதலையானார்கள்; ஆதலால் இஸ்ரவேல் மக்கள் முன்புபோல தங்களுடைய கூடாரங்களிலே குடியிருந்தார்கள்.
6 Nevertheless, they did not depart from the sins of the house of Jeroboam, who caused Israel to sin, and they continued in them; and the Asherah pole remained in Samaria.
௬ஆகிலும் இஸ்ரவேலைப் பாவம்செய்யவைத்த யெரொபெயாம் வீட்டாரின் பாவங்களை அவர்கள்விட்டு விலகாமல் அதிலே நடந்தார்கள்; சமாரியாவிலிருந்த விக்கிரகத்தோப்பும் நிலைத்திருந்தது.
7 The Arameans left Jehoahaz with only fifty horsemen, ten chariots, and ten thousand footmen, for the king of Aram had destroyed them and made them like the chaff at threshing time.
௭யோவாகாசுக்குச் சீரியாவின் ராஜா, ஐம்பது குதிரைவீரர்களையும், பத்து இரதங்களையும், பத்தாயிரம் காலாட்களையுமே அல்லாமல், மக்களில் வேறொன்றும் மீதியாக வைக்கவில்லை; அவன் அவர்களை அழித்து, போரடிக்கும்இடத்தின் தூளைப்போல ஆக்கிவிட்டான்.
8 As for the other matters concerning Jehoahaz, and all that he did and his power, are they not written in the book of the events of the kings of Israel?
௮யோவாகாசின் மற்ற செயல்பாடுகளும், அவன் செய்த யாவும், அவனுடைய வல்லமையும் இஸ்ரவேல் ராஜாக்களின் நாளாகமப் புத்தகத்தில் எழுதப்பட்டிருக்கிறது.
9 So Jehoahaz slept with his ancestors, and they buried him in Samaria. Johoash his son became king in his place.
௯யோவாகாஸ் இறந்தபின், அவனைச் சமாரியாவிலே அடக்கம்செய்தார்கள்; அவன் மகனாகிய யோவாஸ் அவனுடைய இடத்தில் ராஜாவானான்.
10 In the thirty-seventh year of Joash king of Judah, the reign of Jehoash son of Jehoahaz began over Israel in Samaria; he reigned sixteen years.
௧0யூதாவின் ராஜாவாகிய யோவாசுடைய முப்பத்தேழாம் வருட ஆட்சியில் யோவாகாசின் மகனாகிய யோவாஸ், இஸ்ரவேலின்மேல் ராஜாவாகி சமாரியாவிலே பதினாறுவருடங்கள் அரசாட்சிசெய்து,
11 He did what was evil in the sight of Yahweh. He did not leave behind any of the sins of Jeroboam son of Nebat, by which he had made Israel to sin, but he walked in them.
௧௧யெகோவாவின் பார்வைக்குப் பொல்லாப்பானதைச் செய்தான்; இஸ்ரவேலைப் பாவம்செய்யவைத்த நேபாத்தின் மகனாகிய யெரொபெயாமின் பாவங்களை விட்டு விலகாமல் அவைகளையெல்லாம் செய்தான்.
12 As for the other matters concerning Jehoash, and all that he did, and his might by which he fought against Amaziah king of Judah, are they not written in the book of the events of the kings of Israel?
௧௨யோவாசின் மற்ற செயல்பாடுகளும், அவன் செய்த யாவும், அவன் யூதாவின் ராஜாவாகிய அமத்சியாவோடு அவன் போர்செய்த வல்லமையும், இஸ்ரவேல் ராஜாக்களின் நாளாகமப் புத்தகத்தில் எழுதப்பட்டிருக்கிறது.
13 Jehoash slept with his ancestors, and Jeroboam sat on his throne. Jehoash was buried in Samaria with the kings of Israel.
௧௩யோவாஸ் இறந்தபின், யெரொபெயாம் அவன் சிங்காசனத்தில் வீற்றிருந்தான்; யோவாஸ் சமாரியாவில் இஸ்ரவேலின் ராஜாக்களின் அருகில் அடக்கம் செய்யப்பட்டான்.
14 Now Elisha became sick with an illness by which he later died, so Jehoash the king of Israel came down to him and wept over him. He said, “My father, my father, the chariots of Israel and the horsemen are taking you away!”
௧௪அவனுடைய நாட்களில் எலிசா மரணத்திற்கு ஏதுவான வியாதியாகக் கிடந்தான்; அப்பொழுது இஸ்ரவேலின் ராஜாவாகிய யோவாஸ் அவனிடத்திற்குப் போய், அவன்மேல் விழுந்து, அழுது: என் தகப்பனே, என் தகப்பனே, இஸ்ரவேலுக்கு இரதமும் குதிரைவீரருமாயிருந்தவரே என்றான்.
15 Elisha said to him, “Pick up a bow and some arrows,” so Joash picked up a bow and some arrows.
௧௫எலிசா அவனைப் பார்த்து: வில்லையும் அம்புகளையும் பிடியும் என்றான்; அப்படியே வில்லையும் அம்புகளையும் பிடித்துக்கொண்டான்.
16 Elisha said to the king of Israel, “Put your hand on the bow,” so he put his hand on it. Then Elisha laid his hands on the king's hands.
௧௬அப்பொழுது அவன் இஸ்ரவேலின் ராஜாவை நோக்கி: உம்முடைய கையை வில்லின்மேல் வையும் என்றான்; அவன் தன் கையை வைத்தபோது, எலிசா தன் கைகளை ராஜாவுடைய கைகள்மேல் வைத்து:
17 Elisha said, “Open the window eastward,” so he opened it. Then Elisha said, “Shoot!”, and he shot. Elisha said, “This is Yahweh's arrow of victory, the arrow of victory over Aram, for you will attack the Arameans in Aphek until you have consumed them.”
௧௭கிழக்கே இருக்கிற ஜன்னலைத் திறவும் என்றான்; அவன் அதைத் திறந்தபோது, எலிசா: எய்யும் என்றான்; இவன் எய்தபோது, அவன்: அது யெகோவாவுடைய ரட்சிப்பின் அம்பும், சீரியர்களிடமிருந்து விடுதலையாக்கும் ரட்சிப்பின் அம்புமாக இருக்கிறது; நீர் ஆப்பெக்கிலே சீரியர்களை முற்றிலும் முறியடிப்பீர் என்றான்.
18 Then Elisha said, “Take the arrows,” so Joash took them. He said to the king of Israel, “Strike the ground with them,” and he struck the ground three times, then stopped.
௧௮பின்பு அம்புகளைப் பிடியும் என்றான்; அவைகளைப் பிடித்தான். அப்பொழுது அவன் இஸ்ரவேலின் ராஜாவை நோக்கி: தரையிலே அடியும் என்றான்; அவன் மூன்றுமுறை அடித்து நின்றான்.
19 But the man of God was angry with him and said, “You should have hit the ground five or six times. Then you would have attacked Aram until you annihilated it, but now you will attack Aram only three times.”
௧௯அப்பொழுது தேவனுடைய மனிதன் அவன்மேல் கோபமாகி: நீர் ஐந்து ஆறுமுறை அடித்தீரானால், அப்பொழுது சீரியர்களை முற்றிலும் முறியடிப்பீர்; இப்பொழுதோ சீரியர்களை மூன்றுமுறை மாத்திரம் முறியடிப்பீர் என்றான்.
20 Then Elisha died, and they buried him. Now groups of Moabites invaded the land at the beginning of the year.
௨0எலிசா மரணமடைந்தான்; அவனை அடக்கம்செய்தார்கள்; மறுவருடத்திலே மோவாபியரின் கூட்டம் தேசத்திலே வந்தது.
21 As they were burying a certain man, they saw a group of Moabites, so they threw the body into Elisha's grave. As soon as the man touched Elisha's bones, he revived and stood up on his feet.
௨௧அப்பொழுது அவர்கள், ஒரு மனிதனை அடக்கம் செய்யப்போகும்போது, அந்தக் கூட்டத்தைக் கண்டு, அந்த மனிதனை எலிசாவின் கல்லறையில் போட்டார்கள்; அந்த மனிதனின் பிரேதம் அதிலே விழுந்து எலிசாவின் எலும்புகளின்மேல் பட்டபோது, அந்த மனிதன் உயிரடைந்து தன் கால்களை ஊன்றி எழுந்திருந்தான்.
22 Hazael king of Aram oppressed Israel all the days of Jehoahaz.
௨௨யோவாகாசின் நாட்களிலெல்லாம் சீரியாவின் ராஜாவாகிய ஆசகேல் இஸ்ரவேலை ஒடுக்கினான்.
23 But Yahweh was gracious to Israel, and had compassion on them and concern for them, because of his covenant with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. So Yahweh did not destroy them, and he still has not driven them away from his presence.
௨௩ஆனாலும் யெகோவா அவர்களுக்கு மனமிரங்கி, ஆபிரகாம், ஈசாக்கு, யாக்கோபு என்பவர்களோடு செய்த தமது உடன்படிக்கையினிமித்தம் அவர்களை அழிக்க விருப்பமில்லாமலும், அவர்களை இன்னும் தம்முடைய முகத்தைவிட்டுத் தள்ளாமலும் அவர்கள்மேல் மனதுருகி, அவர்களை நினைத்தருளினார்.
24 Hazael king of Aram died, and Ben Hadad his son became king in his place.
௨௪சீரியாவின் ராஜாவாகிய ஆசகேல் மரணமடைந்து, அவன் மகனாகிய பெனாதாத் அவனுடைய இடத்திலே ராஜாவான பின்பு,
25 Jehoash son of Jehoahaz took back from Ben Hadad son of Hazael the cities that had been taken from Jehoahaz his father by war. Jehoash attacked him three times, and he recovered those cities of Israel.
௨௫யோவாகாசின் மகனாகிய யோவாஸ், ஆசகேலோடே போர்செய்து, தன் தகப்பனாகிய யோவாகாசின் கையிலிருந்து பிடித்துக்கொண்ட பட்டணங்களை அவனுடைய மகனாகிய பெனாதாத்தின் கையிலிருந்து திரும்பப் பிடித்துக்கொண்டான்; மூன்றுமுறை யோவாஸ் அவனை முறியடித்து இஸ்ரவேலின் பட்டணங்களைத் திரும்பக் கட்டிக்கொண்டான்.
