2 Kings 13
1 In the twenty-third year of Joash son of Ahaziah king of Judah, Jehoahaz son of Jehu began to reign over Israel in Samaria; he reigned seventeen years.
En el año veinte y tres de Joas, hijo de Ocozías, rey de Judá, comenzó a reinar Joacaz, hijo de Jehú, sobre Israel en Samaria, y reinó diez y siete años.
2 He did what was evil in the sight of Yahweh and followed the sins of Jeroboam son of Nebat, who caused Israel to sin; and Jehoahaz did not turn away from them.
E hizo lo malo en ojos de Jehová, y siguió los pecados de Jeroboam, hijo de Nabat, el que hizo pecar a Israel, y no se apartó de ellos.
3 The anger of Yahweh burned against Israel, and he gave them continually into the hand of Hazael king of Aram and into the hand of Ben Hadad son of Hazael.
Y encendióse el furor de Jehová contra Israel, y entrególos en mano de Hazael rey de Siria, y en mano de Ben-adad, hijo de Hazael, perpetuamente.
4 So Jehoahaz implored Yahweh, and Yahweh listened to him because he saw the oppression of Israel, how the king of Aram was oppressing them.
Mas Joacaz oró a la faz de Jehová, y Jehová le oyó: porque miró la aflicción de Israel, que el rey de Siria los afligía.
5 So Yahweh gave Israel a rescuer, and they escaped from the hand of the Arameans, and the people of Israel began to live in their homes as they had before.
Y dio Jehová salvador a Israel, y salieron de debajo de la mano de Siria, y habitaron los hijos de Israel en sus estancias, como antes.
6 Nevertheless, they did not depart from the sins of the house of Jeroboam, who caused Israel to sin, and they continued in them; and the Asherah pole remained in Samaria.
Con todo eso no se apartaron de los pecados de la casa de Jeroboam, el que hizo pecar a Israel: en ellos anduvieron, y también el bosque permaneció en Samaria.
7 The Arameans left Jehoahaz with only fifty horsemen, ten chariots, and ten thousand footmen, for the king of Aram had destroyed them and made them like the chaff at threshing time.
Porque no le había quedado pueblo a Joacaz, sino cincuenta hombres de a caballo, y diez carros, y diez mil hombres de a pie; que el rey de Siria los había destruido, y los había puesto como polvo para trillar.
8 As for the other matters concerning Jehoahaz, and all that he did and his power, are they not written in the book of the events of the kings of Israel?
Lo demás de los hechos de Joacaz, y todo lo que hizo, y sus valentías, ¿no está escrito en el libro de las crónicas de los reyes de Israel?
9 So Jehoahaz slept with his ancestors, and they buried him in Samaria. Johoash his son became king in his place.
Y durmió Joacaz con sus padres, y sepultáronle en Samaria: y reinó en su lugar Joas su hijo.
10 In the thirty-seventh year of Joash king of Judah, the reign of Jehoash son of Jehoahaz began over Israel in Samaria; he reigned sixteen years.
El año treinta y siete de Joas rey de Judá comenzó a reinar Joas, hijo de Joacaz, sobre Israel en Samaria, y reinó diez y seis años.
11 He did what was evil in the sight of Yahweh. He did not leave behind any of the sins of Jeroboam son of Nebat, by which he had made Israel to sin, but he walked in them.
E hizo lo malo en ojos de Jehová: no se apartó de todos los pecados de Jeroboam, hijo de Nabat, el que hizo pecar a Israel: en ellos anduvo.
12 As for the other matters concerning Jehoash, and all that he did, and his might by which he fought against Amaziah king of Judah, are they not written in the book of the events of the kings of Israel?
Lo demás de los hechos de Joas, y todas las cosas que hizo, y sus valentías con que trajo guerra contra Amasías rey de Judá, ¿no está escrito en el libro de las crónicas de los reyes de Israel?
13 Jehoash slept with his ancestors, and Jeroboam sat on his throne. Jehoash was buried in Samaria with the kings of Israel.
Y durmió Joas con sus padres, y asentóse Jeroboam sobre su trono: y Joas fue sepultado en Samaria con los reyes de Israel.
14 Now Elisha became sick with an illness by which he later died, so Jehoash the king of Israel came down to him and wept over him. He said, “My father, my father, the chariots of Israel and the horsemen are taking you away!”
Eliseo estaba enfermo de su enfermedad, de la cual murió. Y descendió a él Joas rey de Israel, y llorando delante de él, dijo: Padre mío, padre mío, carros de Israel, y su gente de a caballo.
15 Elisha said to him, “Pick up a bow and some arrows,” so Joash picked up a bow and some arrows.
Y díjole Eliseo: Toma el arco y las saetas. Entonces él tomóse el arco y las saetas.
16 Elisha said to the king of Israel, “Put your hand on the bow,” so he put his hand on it. Then Elisha laid his hands on the king's hands.
Y dijo Eliseo al rey de Israel: Encabalga tu mano sobre el arco. Y él encabalgó su mano sobre el arco. Entonces Eliseo puso sus manos sobre las manos del rey.
17 Elisha said, “Open the window eastward,” so he opened it. Then Elisha said, “Shoot!”, and he shot. Elisha said, “This is Yahweh's arrow of victory, the arrow of victory over Aram, for you will attack the Arameans in Aphek until you have consumed them.”
Y dijo: Abre la ventana de hacia el oriente. Y como él la abrió, dijo Eliseo: Tira. Y tirando él, dijo Eliseo: Saeta de salud de Jehová, y saeta de salud contra Siria: porque herirás a los Siros en Afec hasta consumirlos.
18 Then Elisha said, “Take the arrows,” so Joash took them. He said to the king of Israel, “Strike the ground with them,” and he struck the ground three times, then stopped.
Y tornóle a decir: Toma las saetas: y después que el rey de Israel las hubo tomado, díjole: Hiere la tierra. Y él hirió tres veces, y cesó.
19 But the man of God was angry with him and said, “You should have hit the ground five or six times. Then you would have attacked Aram until you annihilated it, but now you will attack Aram only three times.”
Entonces el varón de Dios enojado con él, le dijo: A herir cinco o seis veces, herirías a Siria hasta no quedar ninguno; empero ahora tres veces herirás a Siria.
20 Then Elisha died, and they buried him. Now groups of Moabites invaded the land at the beginning of the year.
Y murió Eliseo, y sepultáronle. Entrado el año vinieron ejércitos de Moabitas en la tierra.
21 As they were burying a certain man, they saw a group of Moabites, so they threw the body into Elisha's grave. As soon as the man touched Elisha's bones, he revived and stood up on his feet.
Y aconteció que queriendo unos sepultar un hombre, súbitamente vieron al ejército, y arrojaron al hombre en el sepulcro de Eliseo: y fue, y tocó el muerto los huesos de Eliseo, y revivió, y levantóse sobre sus pies.
22 Hazael king of Aram oppressed Israel all the days of Jehoahaz.
Así que Hazael rey de Siria afligió a Israel todo el tiempo de Joacaz.
23 But Yahweh was gracious to Israel, and had compassion on them and concern for them, because of his covenant with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. So Yahweh did not destroy them, and he still has not driven them away from his presence.
Mas Jehová tuvo misericordia de ellos, y compadecióse de ellos, y mirólos por amor de su concierto con Abraham, Isaac, y Jacob: y no quiso destruirlos, ni echarlos de delante de sí hasta ahora.
24 Hazael king of Aram died, and Ben Hadad his son became king in his place.
Y murió Hazael rey de Siria, y reinó en su lugar Ben-adad su hijo.
25 Jehoash son of Jehoahaz took back from Ben Hadad son of Hazael the cities that had been taken from Jehoahaz his father by war. Jehoash attacked him three times, and he recovered those cities of Israel.
Y volvió Joas, hijo de Joacaz, y tomó de mano de Ben-adad, hijo de Hazael, las ciudades que él había tomado de mano de Joacaz su padre en guerra: porque tres veces le hirió Joas, y restituyó las ciudades a Israel.
