1 Solomon son of David was strengthened in his rule, and Yahweh his God was with him and made him very powerful.
Sulemaani mutabani wa Dawudi n’atebenkera ku bwakabaka bwe, kubanga Mukama Katonda we yali wamu naye, era n’amugulumiza nnyo.
2 Solomon spoke to all Israel, to the commanders of thousands and of hundreds, and to the judges, and to every prince in all Israel, the heads of the fathers' houses.
Awo Sulemaani n’ayita Isirayiri yonna, n’atumya abaduumizi b’enkumi n’ab’ebikumi, n’abalamuzi, n’abakadde bonna mu Isirayiri yonna, n’abakulembeze b’ennyumba za bajjajjaabwe.
3 So Solomon and all the assembly with him went to the high place that was at Gibeon, for there was the tent of meeting of God, which Moses the servant of Yahweh, had made in the wilderness.
Sulemaani n’ekibiina kyonna ne bagenda e Gibyoni eyali ekifo ku lusozi awaali Eweema ya Katonda ey’Okukuŋŋaanirangamu, Musa omuweereza wa Mukama gye yakuba, eyo mu ddungu.
4 But David had brought up the ark of God from Kiriath Jearim to the place that he had prepared for it, for he had pitched a tent for it in Jerusalem.
Naye Dawudi yali aggye essanduuko ya Katonda okuva e Kiriyasuyalimu, n’agitwala e Yerusaalemi gye yali agitegekedde ng’agizimbidde eweema.
5 In addition, the bronze altar made by Bezalel son of Uri son of Hur was there before the tabernacle of Yahweh; Solomon and the assembly went to it.
Era n’ekyoto eky’ekikomo Bezaaleeri mutabani wa Uli, muzzukulu wa Kuuli kye yali azimbye, kyali eyo mu lusiisira lwa Mukama, ne Sulemaani n’ekibiina kyonna gye beebuulizanga ku Mukama.
6 Solomon went up there to the bronze altar before Yahweh, which was at the tent of meeting, and offered one thousand burnt offerings on it.
Sulemaani n’ayambuka eri ekyoto eky’ekikomo n’alaga mu maaso ga Mukama mu Weema ey’Okukuŋŋaanirangamu n’aweerayo ku kyoto ebiweebwayo ebyokebwa lukumi.
7 God appeared to Solomon that night and said to him, “Ask! What should I give you?”
Ekiro ekyo Katonda n’alabikira Sulemaani n’amugamba nti, “Saba kyonna ky’oyagala nkuwe.”
8 Solomon said to God, “You have shown great covenant faithfulness to David my father, and have made me king in his place.
Sulemaani n’addamu Katonda nti, “Olazze kitange Dawudi ekisa n’okwagala kungi nnyo, n’onfuula omusika we.
9 Now, Yahweh God, let your promise to David my father be carried out, for you have made me king over a people as numerous as the dust of the earth.
Kaakano, Mukama Katonda, kye wasuubiza kitange Dawudi, nsaba kituukirizibwe, kubanga onfudde kabaka ow’eggwanga eryenkana ng’enfuufu ku nsi mu bungi bwayo.
10 Now give me wisdom and knowledge, so that I may lead this people, for who can judge your people, who are so many in number?”
Ompe amagezi n’okumanya, ndyoke nkulembere abantu bano; kubanga ani ayinza okufuga eggwanga lyo lino eddene bwe liti?”
11 God said to Solomon, “Because this was in your heart, and because you have not asked for riches, wealth, or honor, nor for the life of those who hate you, nor for long life for yourself, but you have asked for wisdom and knowledge for yourself, so that you might rule my people, over whom I have made you king, and this is what I will do.
Katonda n’addamu Sulemaani nti, “Kubanga ekyo kibadde mu mutima gwo, n’otosaba bintu, oba obugagga, wadde ekitiibwa newaakubadde okuwangula abalabe bo, ate n’otosaba na buwangaazi, naye n’osaba amagezi n’okumanya osobole okufuga abantu bange, ggwe, nga kabaka waabwe,
12 I will now give you wisdom and knowledge. I will also give you riches, wealth, and honor, as none of the kings had before you, and none after you will have.”
amagezi n’okumanya bikuweereddwa. Era nzija kukuwa obugagga, n’ebintu, n’ekitiibwa, ebitenkana ebyo bakabaka abaakusooka bye baalina, wadde abalijja ng’ovuddewo, bye balifuna.”
13 So Solomon came to Jerusalem from the high place that was at Gibeon, from before the tent of meeting; he reigned over Israel.
Awo Sulemaani n’ava mu maaso g’Eweema ey’Okukuŋŋaanirangamu e Gibyoni n’addayo e Yerusaalemi. N’afuga Isirayiri.
14 Solomon gathered chariots and horsemen, and he had 1,400 chariots and twelve thousand horsemen that he placed in the chariot cities, and with himself, the king in Jerusalem.
Sulemaani n’akuŋŋaanya amagaali n’abeebagala embalaasi; n’aba n’amagaali lukumi mu bina, n’abeebagala embalaasi omutwalo gumu mu enkumi bbiri, be yateeka mu bibuga eby’amagaali, ne mu Yerusaalemi gye yabeeranga.
15 The king made silver and gold as common in Jerusalem as the stones, and he made cedar wood as common as the sycamore trees that are in the lowlands.
Kabaka n’afuula effeeza ne zaabu okuba ebyabulijjo mu Yerusaalemi, nga bingi ng’amayinja; era n’afuula n’emivule okuba emingi ng’emisukamooli mu nsenyi.
16 As for the importation of horses from Egypt and Kue for Solomon, his merchants bought them from Kue at a price.
Embalaasi za Sulemaani zaasubulibwanga okuva e Misiri, era abasuubuzi ba kabaka be baazigulangayo.
17 They imported a chariot from Egypt for six hundred shekels of silver, and a horse for 150 shekels. They also exported them to the kings of the Hittites and the Arameans.
