2 Chronicles 5
1 When all the work that Solomon did for the house of Yahweh was completed, Solomon brought in the things that David, his father, had set apart for this purpose, including the silver, the gold, and all the furnishings—he placed them into the treasuries of the house of God.

2 Then Solomon assembled the elders of Israel, all the heads of the tribes, and the leaders of the families of the people of Israel, in Jerusalem, to bring up the ark of the covenant of Yahweh from the city of David, that is, Zion.
Kisha Solomoni akawaita huko Yerusalemu wazee wa Israeli, viongozi wote wa makabila na wakuu wa jamaa za Waisraeli, ili walilete Sanduku la Agano la Bwana kutoka Sayuni, Mji wa Daudi.
3 All the men of Israel assembled before the king at the feast, which was in the seventh month.
Nao wanaume wote wa Israeli wakakusanyika kwa mfalme wakati wa sikukuu mwezi wa saba.
4 All the elders of Israel came, and the Levites took up the ark.
Wazee wote wa Israeli walipofika, Walawi wakajitwika Sanduku la Agano,
5 They brought up the ark, the tent of meeting, and all the holy furnishings that were in the tent. The priests who were of the tribe of Levi brought these things up.
nao wakalipandisha Sanduku na Hema la Kukutania pamoja na vyombo vyote vitakatifu vilivyokuwa ndani yake. Makuhani, waliokuwa Walawi, walivibeba vitu hivyo,
6 King Solomon and all the assembly of Israel came together before the ark, sacrificing sheep and oxen that could not be counted.
naye Mfalme Solomoni na kusanyiko lote la Israeli waliokusanyika kumzunguka walikuwa mbele ya hilo Sanduku, nao wakatoa dhabihu nyingi za kondoo na ngʼombe ambao idadi yao haikuwezekana kuandikwa au kuhesabiwa.
7 The priests brought in the ark of the covenant of Yahweh to its place, into the inner room of the house, to the most holy place, under the wings of the cherubim.
Makuhani wakalileta Sanduku la Agano la Bwana hadi mahali pake ndani ya sehemu takatifu ndani ya Hekalu, yaani Patakatifu pa Patakatifu, na kuliweka chini ya mabawa ya makerubi.
8 For the cherubim spread out their wings over the place of the ark, and they covered the ark and the poles by which it was carried.
Makerubi yalitandaza mabawa yao juu ya mahali pa Sanduku la Agano na kufunika Sanduku na mipiko yake ya kubebea.
9 The poles were so long that their ends were seen from the holy place in front of the inner room, but they could not be seen from outside. They are there to this day.
Mipiko hiyo ilikuwa mirefu sana kiasi kwamba ncha zake zilizojitokeza kutoka kwenye Sanduku, nazo zilionekana ukiwa mbele ya Patakatifu pa Patakatifu, lakini sio nje ya Mahali Patakatifu. Hiyo mipiko ipo hata leo.
10 There was nothing in the ark except the two tablets that Moses had put there at Horeb, when Yahweh made a covenant with the people of Israel, when they came out of Egypt.
Ndani ya Sanduku hapakuwepo kitu kingine chochote isipokuwa zile mbao mbili ambazo Mose alikuwa ameziweka ndani yake huko Horebu, mahali ambapo Bwana alifanya Agano na Waisraeli baada ya kutoka Misri.
11 It came about that the priests came out of the holy place. All the priests who were present had consecrated themselves to Yahweh, not ordering themselves according to their divisions.
Basi makuhani wakaondoka hapo Mahali Patakatifu. Makuhani wote waliokuwa huko walikuwa wamejiweka wakfu, bila kujali migawanyo yao.
12 Also the Levites who were the singers, all of them, including Asaph, Heman, Jeduthun, and their sons and brothers, clothed in fine linen and playing cymbals, harps, and lyres, stood at the east end of the altar. With them were 120 priests blowing trumpets.
Walawi wote waliokuwa waimbaji, yaani, Asafu, Hemani, Yeduthuni, wana wa ndugu zao, walisimama upande wa mashariki wa madhabahu, wakiwa wamevaa kitani safi huku wakipiga matoazi, vinubi na zeze. Walikuwa pamoja na makuhani 120 wakipiga tarumbeta.
13 It came about that the trumpeters and singers made music together, making one sound to be heard for praising and thanking Yahweh. They raised their voices with the trumpets and cymbals and other instruments, and they praised Yahweh. They sang, “For he is good, for his covenant loyalty endures forever.” Then the house, the house of Yahweh, was filled with a cloud.
Wapiga tarumbeta na waimbaji wakaungana katika sauti linganifu, ikawa kama vile ni sauti moja, wakimsifu na kumshukuru Bwana, nao alipoinua sauti zao pamoja na tarumbeta na matoazi na vyombo vingine vya uimbaji, wakamsifu Bwana wakisema: “Yeye ni mwema; upendo wake unadumu milele.” Ndipo Hekalu la Bwana likajazwa na wingu,
14 The priests could not stand in order to serve because of the cloud, for the glory of Yahweh filled his house.
nao makuhani hawakuweza kufanya huduma yao kwa sababu ya lile wingu, kwa kuwa utukufu wa Bwana ulijaza Hekalu la Mungu.
