2 Chronicles 4
1 Moreover he made an altar of bronze; its length was twenty cubits, and its width was twenty cubits. Its height was ten cubits.
Hij liet een bronzen altaar vervaardigen van twintig el lengte, twintig el breedte, en tien el hoogte.
2 He also made the round sea of cast metal, ten cubits from brim to brim. Its height was five cubits, and the sea was thirty cubits in circumference.
Ook maakte hij de gegoten zee. Haar kom was tien el breed, van rand tot rand gemeten. Zij was helemaal rond en vijf el diep; men kon haar slechts met een koord van dertig el omspannen.
3 Under the brim encircling the sea were bulls, ten to each cubit, cast in one piece with the sea when the sea itself was cast.
Onder de rand waren over de gehele omtrek van dertig el twee rijen ontloken bloemen aangebracht, die in de gietvorm zelf gegoten waren.
4 The large basin known as “The Sea” was set upon twelve oxen, three looking toward the north, three looking toward the west, three looking toward the south, and three looking toward the east. “The Sea” was set on top of them, and all their hindquarters were toward the inside.
Zij werd gedragen door twaalf ossen, waarvan er drie naar het noorden, drie naar het westen, drie naar het zuiden en drie naar het oosten keken, terwijl hun achterdelen naar de binnenkant waren gekeerd.
5 “The Sea” was as thick as the width of a hand, and its brim was forged like the brim of a cup, like a lily blossom. “The Sea” held three thousand baths of water.
Haar wand was een handbreed dik; haar rand was als die van een beker, en had de vorm van een lotuskelk. Ze had een inhoud van drieduizend bat.
6 He made also ten basins for washing things; he put five on the south side, and five on the north; items used in performing the burnt offering were to be washed in them. The large basin known as “The Sea” was used by the priests for them to wash.
Verder liet hij tien wasbekkens gieten, waar van er vijf aan de rechter- en vijf aan de linkerzijde geplaatst werden; zij dienden voor de wassingen. Men spoelde daarin de benodigdheden voor het offer af, terwijl de priesters zich in de zee reinigden.
7 He made the ten lampstands of gold that were made from the instructions for their design; he placed them in the temple, five on the right hand, and five on the left.
Ook liet hij tien gouden luchters vervaardigen, het voorgeschreven aantal, en in het Heilige zetten: vijf aan de rechter- en vijf aan de linkerkant.
8 He made ten tables and placed them in the temple, five on the right side, and five on the left. He made one hundred basins of gold.
Eveneens tien tafels, die in het Heilige geplaatst werden: vijf aan de rechter- en vijf aan de linkerzijde. Bovendien honderd gouden plengschalen.
9 Furthermore he made the courtyard of the priests, and the great court and the doors for the court and overlaid their doors with bronze.
Hij liet de voorhof der priesters bouwen en de grote voorhof met de poorten naar die voorhof, wier deuren met brons werden overtrokken.
10 He placed the basin known as “The Sea” on the east side of the temple, facing toward the south.
De zee zette hij rechts van de tempel in het zuidoosten.
11 Huram made the pots, the shovels, and the sprinkling bowls. So Huram finished the work that he did for King Solomon in the house of God:
Nadat Choeram ook nog potten, schoppen en offerschalen gemaakt had, was al het werk voltooid, dat hij in opdracht van koning Salomon voor het Godshuis had moeten vervaardigen.

14 He also made the stands and the basins to go on the stands;
Verder tien wagentjes, met bekkens er op;
15 one sea and the twelve bulls under it,
en één zee, door twaalf runderen gedragen.
16 also the pots, shovels, meat forks, and all the other implements that Huram-Abi made of polished bronze for King Solomon, for the house of Yahweh.
Tenslotte de potten, schoppen en offerschalen. Al deze voorwerpen, die Choeram-Abi in opdracht van koning Salomon voor de tempel van Jahweh had vervaardigd, waren van echt brons.
17 The king had cast them in the plain of the Jordan, in the clay ground between Succoth and Zarethan.
In de Jordaanvlakte, tussen Soekkot en Sereda, had de koning alles in lemen vormen laten gieten;
18 Thus Solomon made all these vessels in great abundance; indeed, the weight of the bronze could not be known.
en Salomon liet al die voorwerpen in zo’n groot aantal vervaardigen, dat het gewicht van het brons niet vast te stellen was.
19 Solomon made all the furnishings that were in the house of God, the golden altar also, and the tables on which the bread of the presence was to be placed;
Bovendien liet Salomon al de verdere benodigdheden voor de tempel vervaardigen: het gouden altaar met de gouden tafels voor de toonbroden;
20 the lampstands with their lamps, that were designed to burn before the inner room—these were made of pure gold;
de luchters van zuiver goud met de gouden lampen, die volgens voorschrift voor het Allerheiligste moesten branden;
21 and the flowers, the lamps, and the tongs, of gold, pure gold.
verder de gouden bloemkelken, lampen en snuiters, alles van het fijnste goud;
22 Also the lamp trimmers, basins, spoons, and incense burners were all made of pure gold. As for the entrance into the house, its inner doors into the most holy place and the doors of the house, that is, of the temple, were made of gold.
de messen, offerschalen, pannen en bekkens, alles van zuiver goud. En tenslotte het gouden beslag aan de deuren van het binnenste tempelvertrek, namelijk van het Allerheiligste, en aan de deuren van het Heilige.
