2 Chronicles 27
1 Jotham was twenty-five years old when he began to reign; he reigned sixteen years in Jerusalem. His mother's name was Jerushah; she was the daughter of Zadok.
Yothamu alikuwa na umri wa miaka ishirini na mitano alipoanza kutawala, naye akatawala huko Yerusalemu miaka kumi na sita. Mama yake aliitwa Yerusha binti Sadoki.
2 He did what was right in the eyes of Yahweh, following the example of his father, Uzziah, in everything. He also refrained from going into the temple of Yahweh. But the people were still behaving in evil ways.
Akafanya yaliyo mema machoni pa Bwana kama Uzia baba yake alivyokuwa amefanya, lakini tofauti na yeye, hakuingilia huduma za hekaluni mwa Bwana. Lakini hata hivyo, watu wakaendelea na desturi zao mbaya.
3 He built the upper gate of the house of Yahweh, and on the hill of Ophel he built much.
Yothamu akajenga upya Lango la Juu la Hekalu la Bwana na kufanya kazi kubwa kwenye ukuta katika kilima cha Ofeli.
4 Moreover he built cities in the hill country of Judah, and in the forests he built castles and towers.
Akajenga miji katika vilima vya Yuda pamoja na ngome na minara mwituni.
5 He fought also with the king of the people of Ammon and defeated them. In that same year, the people of Ammon gave him one hundred talents of silver, ten thousand measures of wheat, ten thousand measures of barley. The people of Ammon gave him the same in the second and third years.
Yothamu akafanya vita na mfalme wa Waamoni na kumshinda. Mwaka ule Waamoni wakamlipa talanta 100 za fedha, kori 10,000 za ngano na kori 10,000 za shayiri. Waamoni wakamletea kiasi hicho hicho mwaka wa pili na wa tatu.
6 So Jotham became powerful because he walked firmly before Yahweh his God.
Yothamu akaendelea kuwa na nguvu kwa sababu alienenda kwa ukamilifu mbele za Bwana Mungu wake.
7 As for the other matters concerning Jotham, all his wars, and his ways, see, they are written in the book of the kings of Israel and Judah.
Matukio mengine ya utawala wa Yothamu, pamoja na vita vyake vyote na vitu vingine alivyofanya, vimeandikwa katika kitabu cha wafalme wa Israeli na Yuda.
8 He was twenty-five years old when he began to reign; he reigned for sixteen years in Jerusalem.
Alikuwa na umri wa miaka ishirini na mitano alipoanza kutawala, naye akatawala huko Yerusalemu miaka kumi na sita.
9 Jotham slept with his ancestors, and they buried him in the city of David. Ahaz, his son, became king in his place.
Yothamu akalala na baba zake na akazikwa katika Mji wa Daudi. Naye Ahazi mwanawe akawa mfalme baada yake.
