< 2 Chronicles 17 >
1 Jehoshaphat son of Asa became king in his place. Jehoshaphat strengthened himself against Israel.
Na Asa babarima Yehosafat bedii nʼade sɛ ɔhene. Ɔhyɛɛ Yuda den, sɛnea obetumi agyina Israel ɔfow biara ano.
2 He placed forces in all the fortified cities of Judah, and set garrisons in the land of Judah and in the cities of Ephraim, which Asa his father had captured.
Oduaduaa asraafodɔm wɔ Yuda nkuropɔn a wɔabɔ ho ban no nyinaa mu. Ɔde asraafodɔm kumaa bi kɔɔ Yuda asase so ne Efraim nkurow a nʼagya Asa ako agye no so.
3 Yahweh was with Jehoshaphat because he walked in the first ways of his father David, and did not seek the Baals.
Na Awurade ka Yehosafat ho, efisɛ ɔyɛɛ sɛnea nʼagya Asa yɛe wɔ ne mfe a edi kan no mu, na wansom Baal ahoni no.
4 Instead, he relied on the God of his father, and walked in his commandments, not after the behavior of Israel.
Ɔhwehwɛɛ nʼagya Nyankopɔn, na odii nʼahyɛde so a wanni Israel ahenni mu nneyɛe no akyi.
5 So Yahweh established the rule in his hand; all Judah brought tribute to Jehoshaphat. He had riches and honor in abundance.
Enti Awurade maa Yehosafat Yudaman so ahenni no timii. Nnipa a wɔwɔ Yuda nyinaa brɛɛ Yehosafat akyɛde, ma ɔyɛɛ ɔdefo, na wɔde nidi maa no.
6 His heart was committed to Yahweh's ways. He also removed the high places and the Asherah poles from Judah.
Ofi ne koma nyinaa mu nantew Awurade akwan so. Obubuu abosonsomfo nsɔree so, na ɔsɛee Asera nnua no.
7 In the third year of his reign he sent his officials Ben-Hail, Obadiah, Zechariah, Nethanel, and Micaiah, to teach in the cities of Judah.
Yehosafat ahenni mfe abiɛsa so no, ɔsomaa ne mpanyimfo ma wɔkɔkyerɛkyerɛɛ wɔ Yuda nkurow nyinaa so. Ne mpanyimfo no ne Ben-Hail, Obadia, Sakaria, Netanel ne Mikaia.
8 With them were Levites: Shemaiah, Nethaniah, Zebadiah, Asahel, Shemiramoth, Jehonathan, Adonijah, Tobijah, and Tob-Adonijah; and with them were the priests Elishama and Jehoram.
Ɔsomaa Lewifo a wɔn din didi so yi kaa wɔn ho: Semaia, Netania, Sebadia, Asahel, Semiramot, Yehonatan, Adoniya, Tobia ne Tob-Adoniya. Ɔsomaa asɔfo Elisama ne Yehoram nso.
9 They taught in Judah, having the book of the law of Yahweh with them. They went about throughout all the cities of Judah and taught among the people.
Wɔfaa Awurade mmara a wɔatintim nhoma no de kyinii Yuda nkurow nyinaa so, kyerɛkyerɛɛ nnipa no.
10 Terror of Yahweh fell on all the kingdoms of the lands that were around Judah, so that they made no war against Jehoshaphat.
Na afei, ɛmaa Awurade ho suro tɔɔ ahenni a atwa ahyia no nyinaa so, nti obiara amfa ɔko ankɔ Yehosafat so.
11 Some of the Philistines brought Jehoshaphat presents, and silver as tribute. Arabians also brought him flocks, 7,700 rams, and 7,700 goats.
Filistifo no bi brɛɛ no akyɛde ne dwetɛ sɛ sonkahiri, na Arabfo brɛɛ no adwennini mpem ason ne ahanson ne mpapo mpem ason ne ahanson.
12 Jehoshaphat became very powerful. He built fortresses and store cities in Judah.
Ɛmaa Yehosafat tumi mu yɛɛ den, na ɛkɔɔ so yɛɛ den ara ma osisii aban ne nnuan adekoradan wɔ Yuda nkuropɔn nyinaa so.
13 He had many supplies in the cities of Judah, and soldiers—strong, mighty men—in Jerusalem.
Ɔkoraa nneɛma bebree wɔ Yuda nkurow mu, na ɔmaa asraafo a wɔyɛ den tenaa Yerusalem.
14 These were their divisions listed by the name of their fathers' houses: From Judah, the commanders of thousands; Adnah the commander, and with him 300,000 fighting men;
Wogyinaa agyanom mmusuakuw so gyee asraafo. Yuda abusua mu, na asraafodɔm no dodow yɛ mpem ahaasa a wɔakyekyɛ wɔn mu akuwakuw apem. Adna na na ɔyɛ wɔn so sahene.

Onipa a na odi ne so ne Yehohanan a na odi asraafodɔm mpem ahannu aduɔwɔtwe so.
16 next to him Amasiah son of Zichri, who willingly offered to serve Yahweh; and with him 200,000 fighting men.
Nea odi hɔ ne Sikri babarima Amasia, a ɔde ne ho bɔɔ afɔre maa Awurade adwuma a na odi asraafodɔm mpem ahannu so sahene.
17 From Benjamin: Eliada a powerful man of courage, and with him 200,000 armed with bows and shields;

18 next to him Jehozabad, and with him 180,000 ready prepared for war.
Nea odi hɔ ne Yehosabad a otua asraafo mpem ɔha aduɔwɔtwe a wɔada wɔn ho so ama akodi no ano.
19 These were those who served the king, besides those whom the king put in the fortified cities throughout all Judah.
Eyinom ne asraafodɔm a wɔtenaa Yerusalem som ɔhene, ne wɔn a Yehosafat de wɔn duaduaa nkurow a wɔabɔ ho ban wɔ Yudaman mu no.
