< 1 Timothy 2 >

1 Therefore first of all, I urge that requests, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all people,
Nítorí náà mo gbà yín níyànjú ṣáájú ohun gbogbo, pé kí a máa bẹ̀bẹ̀, kí a máa gbàdúrà, kí a máa ṣìpẹ̀, àti kí a máa dúpẹ́ nítorí gbogbo ènìyàn.
2 for kings and all who are in authority, in order that we may live a peaceful and quiet life in all godliness and dignity.
Fún àwọn ọba, àti gbogbo àwọn tí ó wà ni ipò àṣẹ, kí a lè máa lo ayé wa ní àlàáfíà àti ìdákẹ́ jẹ́ẹ́ pẹ̀lú nínú gbogbo ìwà-bí-Ọlọ́run àti ìwà mímọ́.
3 This is good and acceptable before God our savior.
Nítorí èyí dára, ó sì ṣe ìtẹ́wọ́gbà níwájú Ọlọ́run Olùgbàlà wa;
4 He desires all people to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.
ẹni tí ó fẹ́ kí gbogbo ènìyàn ní ìgbàlà kí wọ́n sì wá sínú ìmọ̀ òtítọ́.
5 For there is one God, and there is one mediator for God and man, the man Christ Jesus.
Nítorí Ọlọ́run kan ní ń bẹ, onílàjà kan pẹ̀lú láàrín Ọlọ́run àti ènìyàn, àní Kristi Jesu ọkùnrin náà.
6 He gave himself as a ransom for all, as the testimony at the right time.
Ẹni ti ó fi ara rẹ̀ ṣe ìràpadà fún gbogbo ènìyàn—ẹ̀rí tí a fi fún ni ní àkókò tó yẹ.
7 For this purpose, I myself, was made a herald and an apostle. I am telling the truth. I am not lying. I am a teacher of the Gentiles in faith and truth.
Nítorí èyí tí a yàn mi ṣe oníwàásù, aposteli òtítọ́ ni èmi ń sọ, èmi kò ṣèké olùkọ́ àwọn aláìkọlà nínú ìgbàgbọ́ àti òtítọ́.
8 Therefore, I want men in every place to pray and to lift up holy hands without anger or arguing.
Mo fẹ́ kí àwọn ọkùnrin máa gbàdúrà níbi gbogbo, kí wọ́n máa gbé ọwọ́ mímọ́ sókè, ní àìbínú àti àìjiyàn.
9 Likewise, I want the women to dress themselves in proper clothing, with modesty and self-control. They should not have braided hair, or gold, or pearls, or expensive clothing.
Bẹ́ẹ̀ gẹ́gẹ́ ni kí àwọn obìnrin fi aṣọ ìwọ̀ntúnwọ̀nsì ṣe ara wọn ní ọ̀ṣọ́, ní ìwọ̀ntúnwọ̀nsì àti pẹ̀lú ìwà àìrékọjá; kì í ṣe pẹ̀lú irun dídì, tàbí wúrà, tàbí peali, tàbí aṣọ olówó iyebíye,
10 I want them to dress with what is appropriate for women who profess godliness through good works.
bí kò ṣe pẹ̀lú iṣẹ́ rere, èyí tí ó yẹ fún àwọn obìnrin tó jẹ́wọ́ pé wọ́n sin Ọlọ́run.
11 A woman should learn in silence and with all submission.
Jẹ́ kí obìnrin máa fi ìdákẹ́ jẹ́ẹ́ àti ìtẹríba gbogbo kọ́ ẹ̀kọ́.
12 I do not permit a woman to teach or to exercise authority over a man, but to live in quietness.
Ṣùgbọ́n èmi kò fi àṣẹ fún obìnrin láti máa kọ́ni, tàbí láti pàṣẹ lórí ọkùnrin, bí kò ṣe kí ó dákẹ́ jẹ́ẹ́.
13 For Adam was formed first, then Eve.
Nítorí Adamu ni a kọ́ dá, lẹ́yìn náà, Efa.
14 Adam was not deceived, but the woman was deceived and became a transgressor.
Adamu kọ́ ni a tànjẹ, ṣùgbọ́n obìnrin náà ni a tàn tí ó sì di ẹlẹ́ṣẹ̀.
15 However, she will be saved through bearing children, if they continue in faith and love and sanctification with soundness of mind.
Ṣùgbọ́n a ó gbà àwọn obìnrin là nípa ìbímọ wọn, bí wọ́n bá dúró nínú ìgbàgbọ́, ìfẹ́, àti ìwà mímọ́ pẹ̀lú ìwà àìrékọjá.
