1 Samuel 23
1 They told David, “Look, the Philistines are fighting against Keilah and are robbing the threshing floors.”
Le dijeron a David: “He aquí que los filisteos combaten contra Keila y roban las eras”.
2 So David prayed to Yahweh for help and asked him, “Should I go and attack these Philistines?” Yahweh said to David, “Go and attack the Philistines and save Keilah.”
Por lo tanto, David consultó a Yahvé, diciendo: “¿Debo ir a golpear a estos filisteos?” Yahvé dijo a David: “Ve a golpear a los filisteos y salva a Keilah”.
3 David's men said to him, “See, we are afraid here in Judah. How much more then if we go to Keilah against the armies of the Philistines?”
Los hombres de David le dijeron: “He aquí que tenemos miedo aquí en Judá. ¿Cuánto más si vamos a Keila contra los ejércitos de los filisteos?”
4 Then David prayed to Yahweh for help yet again. Yahweh answered him, “Arise, go down to Keilah. For I will give you victory over the Philistines.”
Entonces David volvió a consultar a Yahvé. Yahvé le respondió y le dijo: “Levántate, baja a Keila, porque entregaré a los filisteos en tu mano”.
5 David and his men went to Keilah and fought with the Philistines. He led away their cattle and struck them with a great slaughter. So David saved the inhabitants of Keilah.
David y sus hombres fueron a Keila y lucharon contra los filisteos, y se llevaron su ganado, y los mataron con una gran matanza. Así David salvó a los habitantes de Keila.
6 When Abiathar son of Ahimelech had fled to David at Keilah, he came down with an ephod in his hand.
Cuando Abiatar, hijo de Ajimelec, huyó con David a Keilá, bajó con un efod en la mano.
7 Saul was told that David had gone to Keilah. Saul said, “God has given him into my hand. For he is shut in because he has entered a city that has gates and bars.”
Saúl fue informado de que David había llegado a Keila. Saúl dijo: “Dios lo ha entregado en mi mano, pues está encerrado al entrar en una ciudad que tiene puertas y rejas”.
8 Saul summoned all his forces for battle, to go down to Keilah, to besiege David and his men.
Saúl convocó a todo el pueblo a la guerra, para bajar a Keila a sitiar a David y a sus hombres.
9 David knew that Saul was plotting harm against him. He said to Abiathar the priest, “Bring the ephod here.”
David sabía que Saúl estaba tramando una travesura contra él. Le dijo al sacerdote Abiatar: “Trae el efod aquí”.
10 Then David said, “Yahweh, the God of Israel, your servant has indeed heard that Saul seeks to come to Keilah, to destroy the city for my sake.
Entonces David dijo: “Oh Yahvé, Dios de Israel, tu siervo ha oído ciertamente que Saúl pretende venir a Keila para destruir la ciudad por mi causa.
11 Will the men of Keilah surrender me into his hand? Will Saul come down, as your servant has heard? Yahweh, the God of Israel, I beg you, please tell your servant.” Yahweh said, “He will come down.”
¿Me entregarán los hombres de Keila en sus manos? ¿Bajará Saúl, como ha oído tu siervo? Yahvé, el Dios de Israel, te ruego que se lo digas a tu siervo”. Yahvé dijo: “Bajará”.
12 Then David said, “Will the men of Keilah surrender me and my men into the hand of Saul?” Yahweh said, “They will surrender you.”
Entonces David dijo: “¿Me entregarán los hombres de Keila a mí y a mis hombres en manos de Saúl?” Yahvé dijo: “Te entregarán”.
13 Then David and his men, who were about six hundred, got up and went away from Keilah, and they went from place to place. It was told Saul that David had escaped from Keilah, and he stopped the pursuit.
Entonces David y sus hombres, que eran como seiscientos, se levantaron y salieron de Keila y se fueron a donde pudieron. Saúl se enteró de que David había escapado de Keila, y renunció a ir allí.
14 David stayed in the strongholds in the wilderness, in the hill country in the wilderness of Ziph. Saul looked for him every day, but God did not give him into his hand.
David se quedó en el desierto, en las fortalezas, y permaneció en la región montañosa, en el desierto de Zif. Saúl lo buscaba todos los días, pero Dios no lo entregó en su mano.
15 David saw that Saul had come out to seek his life; now David was in the wilderness of Ziph at Horesh.
David vio que Saúl había salido a buscar su vida. David estaba en el desierto de Zif, en el bosque.
16 Then Jonathan, Saul's son, got up and went to David at Horesh, and strengthened his hand in God.
Jonatán, hijo de Saúl, se levantó y fue a ver a David al bosque, y fortaleció su mano en Dios.
17 He said to him, “Do not be afraid. For the hand of Saul my father will not find you. You will be king over Israel, and I will be next to you. Saul my father also knows this.”
Le dijo: “No temas, porque la mano de mi padre Saúl no te encontrará; tú serás rey de Israel y yo estaré a tu lado, y eso también lo sabe mi padre Saúl.”
18 They made a covenant before Yahweh. David remained at Horesh, and Jonathan went home.
Ambos hicieron un pacto ante el Señor. Luego David se quedó en el bosque y Jonatán se fue a su casa.
19 Then Ziphites came to Saul at Gibeah and said, “Is not David hiding among us in the strongholds at Horesh, on the hill of Hakilah, which is south of Jeshimon?
Entonces los zifitas subieron a Saúl a Gabaa, diciendo: “¿No se esconde David con nosotros en las fortalezas del bosque, en la colina de Haquila, que está al sur del desierto?
20 Now come down, king! According to your desire, come down! Our part will be to surrender him into the king's hand.”
Ahora, pues, oh rey, baja. Según todo el deseo de tu alma desciende; y nuestra parte será entregarlo en mano del rey”.
21 Saul said, “May you be blessed by Yahweh. For you have had compassion on me.
Saúl dijo: “Bendito seas por Yahvé, pues te has compadecido de mí.
22 Go, make even more sure. Learn and find out where his hiding place is and who has seen him there. It is told to me that he is very crafty.
Te ruego que vayas a asegurarte aún más, y que conozcas y veas dónde está su guarida, y quién lo ha visto allí; porque me han dicho que es muy astuto.
23 So look, and learn all of the places where he hides himself. Come back to me with sure information, and then I will return with you. If he is in the land, I will search him out among all the thousands of Judah.”
Ve, pues, y conoce todos los lugares donde se esconde; y vuelve a mí con seguridad, y yo iré contigo. Si él está en la tierra, yo lo buscaré entre todos los millares de Judá”.
24 Then they rose up and went to Ziph ahead of Saul. Now David and his men were in the wilderness of Maon, in the Arabah to the south of Jeshimon.
Se levantaron y se dirigieron a Zif delante de Saúl, pero David y sus hombres estaban en el desierto de Maón, en el Arabá, al sur del desierto.
25 Saul and his men went to seek him. But David was told of it, so he went down to a rocky hill and lived in the wilderness of Maon. When Saul heard it, he chased David in the wilderness of Maon.
Saúl y sus hombres fueron a buscarlo. Cuando le avisaron a David, bajó a la roca y se quedó en el desierto de Maón. Cuando Saúl se enteró, persiguió a David en el desierto de Maón.
26 Saul went on one side of the mountain, and David and his men were going on the other side of the mountain. David hurried to get away from Saul. As Saul and his men were surrounding David and his men to take them,
Saúl iba por este lado de la montaña, y David y sus hombres por aquel lado; y David se apresuraba a huir por miedo a Saúl, pues éste y sus hombres rodeaban a David y a los suyos para apresarlos.
27 a messenger came to Saul and said, “Hurry and come, for the Philistines have made a raid against the land.”
Pero llegó un mensajero a Saúl, diciendo: “¡Apúrate y ven, porque los filisteos han hecho una incursión en la tierra!”
28 So Saul returned from pursuing David and went against the Philistines. Therefore that place was called the Rock of Escape.
Así que Saúl regresó de perseguir a David y fue contra los filisteos. Por eso llamaron a ese lugar Sela Hammahlekoth.
29 David went up from there and lived in the strongholds of Engedi.
David subió de allí y vivió en las fortalezas de En Gedi.
