1 Samuel 15
1 Samuel said to Saul, “Yahweh sent me to anoint you king over his people Israel. Now listen to the words of Yahweh.
౧ఒక రోజున సమూయేలు సౌలును పిలిచి ఇలా చెప్పాడు. “ఇశ్రాయేలు ప్రజలపై నిన్ను రాజుగా అభిషేకించడానికి యెహోవా నన్ను పంపించాడు. ఆయన మాట విను.
2 This is what Yahweh of hosts says, 'I have noted what Amalek did to Israel in opposing them on the way, when they came up from Egypt.
౨సైన్యాలకు అధిపతి అయిన యెహోవా చెబుతున్నది ఏమిటంటే, ‘అమాలేకీయులు ఇశ్రాయేలీయులకు చేసిన కీడు నాకు జ్ఞాపకం ఉంది. వారు ఐగుప్తు విడిచి రాగానే మార్గ మధ్యంలో అమాలేకీయులు వారిపైకి వచ్చి దాడి చేశారు కదా.
3 Now go and attack Amalek and completely destroy all that they have. Do not spare them, but kill both man and woman, child and infant, ox and sheep, camel and donkey.'”
౩కాబట్టి నువ్వు బయలుదేరి వెళ్ళి ఎవ్వరి పట్లా కనికరం చూపకుండా అమాలేకీయులను హతం చెయ్యి. పురుషులైనా, స్త్రీలైనా, చిన్నపిల్లలైనా, పసిపిల్లలైనా, ఎద్దులైనా, గొర్రెలైనా, ఒంటెలైనా, గాడిదలైనా వేటినీ విడిచిపెట్టక వారికి ఉన్నదంతా నాశనం చేసి, అమాలేకీయులందరినీ నిర్మూలం చెయ్యి’” అని చెప్పాడు.
4 Saul summoned the people and numbered them at the city of Telaim—two hundred thousand men on foot, and ten thousand men of Judah.
౪అప్పుడు సౌలు ప్రజలను తెలాయీములో పోగుచేసి వారిని లెక్కించాడు. కాల్బలం రెండు లక్షలమంది, యూదావారు పదివేలమంది పోగయ్యారు.
5 Then Saul came to the city of Amalek and waited in the valley.
౫అప్పుడు సౌలు అమాలేకీయుల పట్టణానికి వచ్చి లోయలో పొంచి ఉన్నాడు.
6 Then Saul said to the Kenites, “Go, depart, come out from among the Amalekites, so I do not destroy you along with them. For you showed kindness to all the people of Israel, when they came from Egypt.” So the Kenites moved away from the Amalekites.
౬ఇశ్రాయేలీయులు ఐగుప్తు నుండి వచ్చినప్పుడు కేనీయులు వారికి సహాయం చేశారు గనుక అమాలేకీయులతో కలసి ఉన్న కేనీయులు కూడా నాశనం కాకుండా ఉండేలా వారిని బయలుదేరి వెళ్ళిపొమ్మని కేనీయులకు సమాచారం పంపినపుడు కేనీయులు అమాలేకీయుల్లో నుండి వెళ్లిపోయారు.
7 Then Saul attacked the Amalekites, from Havilah as far as Shur, which is east of Egypt.
౭తరువాత సౌలు అమాలేకీయులను హవీలా నుండి ఐగుప్తు దేశపు మార్గంలో ఉన్న షూరు వరకూ తరిమి సంహరించి
8 Then he took Agag the king of the Amalekites alive; he completely destroyed all the people with the edge of the sword.
౮అమాలేకీయుల రాజు అగగును సజీవంగా పట్టుకుని, మిగిలిన వారందరినీ కత్తితో నాశనం చేశాడు.
9 But Saul and the people spared Agag, as well as the best of the sheep, oxen, fattened calves, and the lambs. Everything that was good, they did not destroy. But they completely destroyed anything that was despised and worthless.
౯సౌలు, అతని ప్రజలు కలసి అగగును, గొర్రెలు, ఎద్దులు, బాగా బలిసిన గొర్రెపిల్లలు మొదలైనవాటిలో మంచివాటినీ నాశనం చేయకుండా వేరుగా ఉంచి, పనికిరాని వాటిని, నాసిరకం వాటిని చంపివేశారు.
10 Then the word of Yahweh came to Samuel, saying,
౧౦అప్పుడు యెహోవా వాక్కు సమూయేలుకు ప్రత్యక్షమైఇలా చెప్పాడు,
11 “It grieves me that I have made Saul king, for he has turned back from following me and has not performed my commandments.” Samuel was angry; he cried out to Yahweh all night.
౧౧“సౌలు నేను చెప్పినది చేయకుండా నా ఆజ్ఞలను నిర్లక్ష్యం చేశాడు గనుక అతణ్ణి రాజుగా చేసినందుకు విచారిస్తున్నాను.” అప్పుడు సమూయేలు కోపం తెచ్చుకుని రాత్రి అంతా యెహోవాకు విజ్ఞాపన చేస్తూనే ఉన్నాడు.
12 Samuel got up early to meet Saul in the morning. Samuel was told, “Saul came to Carmel and he set up a monument to himself, then turned and proceeded on down to Gilgal.”
౧౨తెల్లవారగానే సమూయేలు లేచి సౌలును కలుసుకొనేందుకు వెళ్ళినప్పుడు సౌలు కర్మెలుకు వచ్చి అక్కడ విజయ స్మారక స్థూపం నిలబెట్టి తిరిగి గిల్గాలుకు వెళ్లిపోయాడని తెలుసుకున్నాడు.
13 Then Samuel came to Saul, and Saul said to him, “Blessed are you by Yahweh! I have fulfilled the command of Yahweh.”
౧౩తరువాత అతడు సౌలు దగ్గరకి వచ్చినపుడు సౌలు “యెహోవా నిన్ను ఆశీర్వదిస్తాడు గాక, యెహోవా చెప్పిన మాట నేను జరిగించాను” అన్నాడు.
14 Samuel said, “What then is this bleating of sheep in my ears, and the lowing of the oxen that I hear?”
౧౪అప్పుడు సమూయేలు “అలాగైతే నాకు వినబడుతున్న గొర్రెల అరుపులు, ఎద్దుల రంకెలు ఎక్కడివి?” అని అడిగాడు.
15 Saul replied, “They have brought them from the Amalekites. For the people spared the best of the sheep and oxen, to sacrifice to Yahweh your God. The rest we have completely destroyed.”
౧౫అందుకు సౌలు “అమాలేకీయుల నుండి ప్రజలు వీటిని తీసుకువచ్చారు. నీ దేవుడైన యెహోవాకు బలులు అర్పించడానికి ప్రజలు గొర్రెల్లో, ఎద్దుల్లో మంచివాటిని చంపకుండా ఉండనిచ్చారు. మిగిలిన వాటన్నిటినీ మేము హతం చేశాం” అన్నాడు.
16 Then Samuel said to Saul, “Wait, and I will tell you what Yahweh has said to me tonight.” Saul said to him, “Speak!”
౧౬సమూయేలు “నీవు మాట్లాడవలసిన అవసరం లేదు. యెహోవా రాత్రి నాతో చెప్పిన మాట నీకు చెబుతున్నాను విను” అన్నాడు. సౌలు “చెప్పండి” అన్నాడు.
17 Samuel said, “Though you are little in your own sight, were you not made the head of the tribes of Israel? Then Yahweh anointed you king over Israel,
౧౭అప్పుడు సమూయేలు “నీ విషయంలో నువ్వు అల్పుడవుగా ఉన్న సమయంలో ఇశ్రాయేలీయుల గోత్రాలకు ముఖ్యమైన వాడివయ్యావు. యెహోవా నిన్ను ఇశ్రాయేలీయులకు రాజుగా అభిషేకించాడు.
18 and Yahweh sent you on your way and said, 'Go and completely destroy the sinners, the Amalekites, and fight against them until they are destroyed.'
౧౮యెహోవా నిన్ను పంపించి ‘నువ్వు వెళ్ళి పాపాత్ములైన అమాలేకీయులను నాశనం చెయ్యి, వారు సమూలంగా అంతమయ్యే వరకూ వారితో యుద్ధం చెయ్యి’ అని చెప్పినప్పుడు,
19 Why did you not obey the voice of Yahweh, but instead you seized the booty and did what was evil in the sight of Yahweh?”
౧౯నువ్వు యెహోవా మాట వినకుండా దోచుకున్న దాన్ని ఆశించి ఆయన విషయంలో ఎందుకు తప్పు చేశావు?” అన్నాడు.
20 Then Saul said to Samuel, “I have indeed obeyed the voice of Yahweh, and have gone on the way that Yahweh sent me. I have captured Agag, the king of Amalek, and have completely destroyed the Amalekites.
౨౦అప్పుడు సౌలు “అలా అనకు, నేను యెహోవా మాట విని యెహోవా నన్ను పంపిన మార్గాన వెళ్ళి అమాలేకీయుల రాజైన అగగును మాత్రమే తీసుకు వచ్చాను కాని అమాలేకీయులందరినీ నాశనం చేశాను.
21 But the people took some of the booty—sheep and oxen, the best of the things devoted to destruction, to sacrifice to Yahweh your God in Gilgal.”
౨౧అయితే గిల్గాలులో నీ దేవుడైన యెహోవాకు బలి అర్పించడానికి ప్రజలు శపితమైన గొర్రెల్లో, ఎద్దుల్లో శ్రేష్ఠమైనవాటిని తీసుకువచ్చారు” అని సమూయేలుతో చెప్పాడు.
22 Samuel replied, “Has Yahweh as much delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of Yahweh? Obedience is better than sacrifice, and to listen is better than the fat of rams.
౨౨అందుకు సమూయేలు “ఒకడు తాను చెప్పిన మాటకు లోబడితే యెహోవా సంతోషించేటంతగా, దహనబలులు, హోమాలు అర్పిస్తే సంతోషిస్తాడా? ఆలోచించు, బలులు అర్పించడం కంటే లోబడడం, పొట్టేళ్ల కొవ్వు అర్పించడం కంటే మాట వినడం శ్రేష్ఠం.
23 For rebellion is like the sin of divination, and stubbornness is like wickedness and iniquity. Because you have rejected the word of Yahweh, he has also rejected you from being king.”
౨౩తిరుగుబాటు చేయడం అనేది శకునం చెప్పడం అనే పాపంతో సమానం. మూర్ఖంగా ప్రవర్తించడం విగ్రహ పూజ అనే పాపంతో సమానం. యెహోవా ఆజ్ఞను నువ్వు తిరస్కరించావు కాబట్టి నువ్వు రాజుగా ఉండకుండా ఆయన నిన్ను తిరస్కరించాడు” అన్నాడు.
24 Then Saul said to Samuel, “I have sinned; for I have broken Yahweh's commandment and your words, because I was afraid of the people and obeyed their voice.
౨౪అప్పుడు సౌలు “ప్రజలకు భయపడి వారి మాట వినడంవల్ల నేను యెహోవా ఆజ్ఞను, నీ మాటలను మీరి పాపం కొనితెచ్చుకొన్నాను.
25 Now, please pardon my sin, and return with me so that I may worship Yahweh.”
౨౫నువ్వు నా పాపాన్ని తీసివేసి నేను యెహోవాకు మొక్కుకొనేలా నాతో కలసి రా” అని సమూయేలును వేడుకున్నాడు.
26 Samuel said to Saul, “I will not go back with you; for you have rejected the word of Yahweh, and Yahweh has rejected you from being king over Israel.”
౨౬అయితే సమూయేలు “నీతోబాటు నేను వెనక్కి రాను. నీవు యెహోవాను తిరస్కరించావు కాబట్టి ఇశ్రాయేలీయుల మీద రాజుగా ఉండకుండాా యెహోవా నిన్ను తిరస్కరించాడు” అని చెప్పి
27 As Samuel turned to leave, Saul took hold of the hem of his robe, and it tore.
౨౭వెళ్లిపోవాలని వెనక్కి తిరిగాడు. అప్పుడు సౌలు అతని దుప్పటి చెంగును పట్టుకొనగా అది చిరిగింది.
28 Samuel said to him, “Yahweh has torn the kingdom of Israel from you today and has given it to a neighbor of yours, one who is better than you.
౨౮అప్పుడు సమూయేలు అతనితో ఇలా చెప్పాడు “ఈ రోజే యెహోవా ఇశ్రాయేలీయుల రాజ్యాన్ని నీ చేతిలో నుండి తీసివేసి నీ సాటి వారిలో ఉత్తముడైన వేరొకరికి దాన్ని అప్పగించాడు.
29 Also, the Strength of Israel will not lie nor change his mind; for he is not a man, that he should change his mind.”
౨౯ఇశ్రాయేలీయులకు మహిమగా ఉన్న దేవుడు అబద్ధమాడడు, మనస్సు మార్చుకోడు.”
30 Then Saul said, “I have sinned. But please honor me now before the elders of my people and before Israel. Turn again with me, that I may worship Yahweh your God.”
౩౦సౌలు “నేను పాపం చేశాను. అయినప్పటికీ నా ప్రజల పెద్దల ముందు, ఇశ్రాయేలీయుల ముందు నన్ను గౌరవించు. యెహోవాకు మొక్కడానికి నేను వెళ్తుండగా నాతో కూడ కలసి రమ్మని” అతని బతిమాలినప్పుడు
31 So Samuel turned again after Saul, and Saul worshiped Yahweh.
౩౧సమూయేలు సౌలు వెంట వెళ్ళాడు. సౌలు యెహోవాకు మొక్కిన తరువాత
32 Then Samuel said, “Bring Agag the king of the Amalekites here to me.” Agag came to him confined with chains and said, “Surely the bitterness of death has past.”
౩౨సమూయేలు “అమాలేకీయుల రాజు అగగును నా దగ్గరికి తీసుకు రండి” అన్నాడు. అగగు ఆనందంగా అతని దగ్గరకి వచ్చి “నాకు మరణ శిక్ష తప్పిపోయిందా” అన్నాడు.
33 Samuel replied, “As your sword has made women childless, so shall your mother be childless among women.” Then Samuel chopped Agag to pieces before Yahweh at Gilgal.
౩౩సమూయేలు “నీ కత్తి స్త్రీలకు సంతానం లేకుండా చేసినట్టు నీ తల్లికి కూడా స్త్రీలలో సంతానం లేకుండా పోతుంది” అని చెప్పి గిల్గాలులో యెహోవా సన్నిధానంలో అగగును ముక్కలుగా నరికివేశాడు.
34 Samuel went to Ramah, and Saul went up to his house at Gibeah of Saul.
౩౪తరువాత సమూయేలు రమాకు, సౌలు గిబియాలోని తన ఇంటికి వెళ్ళిపోయారు.
35 Samuel did not see Saul until the day of his death, for he mourned for Saul. Yahweh was grieved that he had made Saul king over Israel.
౩౫సౌలు బతికినంత కాలం సమూయేలు అతణ్ణి చూసేందుకు వెళ్లలేదు గానీ సౌలును గూర్చి దుఃఖిస్తూ వచ్చాడు. తాను సౌలును ఇశ్రాయేలీయులపై రాజుగా నియమించినందుకు యెహోవా పశ్చాత్తాపం చెందాడు.
