1 Kings 13
1 A man of God came out of Judah by the word of Yahweh to Bethel. Jeroboam was standing by the altar to burn incense.
௧யெரொபெயாம் தூபம் காட்ட பலிபீடத்தின் அருகில் நிற்கும்போது, இதோ, தேவனுடைய மனிதன் ஒருவன் யெகோவாவுடைய வார்த்தையின்படியே, யூதாவிலிருந்து பெத்தேலுக்கு வந்து,
2 He cried against the altar by the word of Yahweh: “Altar, altar! This is what Yahweh says, 'See, a son named Josiah will be born to the family of David, and on you he will sacrifice the priests of the high places who now burn incense on you. On you they will burn human bones.'”
௨அந்த பலிபீடத்தை நோக்கி: பலிபீடமே பலிபீடமே, இதோ, தாவீதின் வம்சத்தில் யோசியா என்னும் பெயருள்ள ஒரு மகன் பிறப்பான்; அவன் உன்மேல் தூபங்காட்டுகிற மேடைகளின் ஆசாரியர்களை உன்மேல் பலியிடுவான்; மனிதர்களின் எலும்புகளும் உன்மேல் சுட்டெரிக்கப்படும் என்பதைக் யெகோவா சொல்கிறார் என்று யெகோவாவுடைய வார்த்தையைக் கூறி;
3 Then the man of God gave a sign the same day, saying, “This is the sign that Yahweh has spoken: 'Look, the altar will be split apart, and the ashes on it will be poured out.'”
௩அன்றையதினம் அவன் ஒரு அடையாளத்தையும் சொல்லி, இதோ, இந்த பலிபீடம் வெடித்து, அதின்மேல் உள்ள சாம்பல் கொட்டப்பட்டுப்போகும்; யெகோவா சொன்னதற்கு இதுவே அடையாளம் என்றான்.
4 When the king heard what the man of God said, that he had cried out against the altar at Bethel, Jeroboam reached out with his hand from the altar, saying, “Seize him.” Then the hand with which he had reached out against the man dried up, so that he could not draw it back to himself.
௪பெத்தேலில் இருக்கிற அந்த பலிபீடத்திற்கு எதிராக தேவனுடைய மனிதன் கூறின வார்த்தையை ராஜாவாகிய யெரொபெயாம் கேட்டபோது, அவனைப் பிடியுங்கள் என்று தன்னுடைய கையைப் பலிபீடத்திலிருந்து நீட்டினான்; அவனுக்கு விரோதமாக நீட்டின கை தன்னிடமாக மடக்கமுடியாதபடி மரத்துப்போனது.
5 (The altar was also split apart and the ashes poured out from the altar, as described by the sign that the man of God had given by the word of Yahweh.)
௫தேவனுடைய மனிதன் யெகோவாவுடைய வார்த்தையால் குறித்திருந்த அடையாளத்தின்படியே பலிபீடம் வெடித்து, சாம்பல் பலிபீடத்திலிருந்து கொட்டப்பட்டுப்போனது.
6 King Jeroboam answered and said to the man of God, “Plead for the favor of Yahweh your God and pray for me, so that my hand may be restored to me again.” So the man of God prayed to Yahweh, and the king's hand was restored to him again, and it became as it was before.
௬அப்பொழுது ராஜா, தேவனுடைய மனிதனுக்கு மறுமொழியாக: நீ உன்னுடைய தேவனாகிய யெகோவாவுடைய சமுகத்தை நோக்கி வேண்டிக்கொண்டு, என்னுடைய கை முன்போல இருக்கும்படி எனக்காக விண்ணப்பம் செய்யவேண்டும் என்றான்; அப்பொழுது தேவனுடைய மனிதன் யெகோவாவுடைய சமுகத்தை நோக்கி வருந்தி விண்ணப்பம்செய்தான், ராஜாவின் கை முன்னே இருந்தபடியே சரியானது.
7 The king said to the man of God, “Come home with me and refresh yourself, and I will give you a reward.”
௭அப்பொழுது ராஜா தேவனுடைய மனிதனை நோக்கி: நீ என்னோடு வீட்டிற்கு வந்து இளைப்பாறு; உனக்கு பரிசு தருவேன் என்றான்.
8 The man of God said to the king, “Even if you give me half your possessions, I will not go with you, nor will I eat food or drink water in this place,
௮தேவனுடைய மனிதன் ராஜாவை நோக்கி: நீர் எனக்கு உம்முடைய வீட்டில் பாதியைக் கொடுத்தாலும், நான் உம்மோடு வருவதும் இல்லை, இந்த இடத்தில் அப்பம் சாப்பிடுவதும் இல்லை, தண்ணீர் குடிப்பதும் இல்லை.
9 because Yahweh commanded me by his word, 'You will eat no bread nor drink water, nor return by the way that you came.'”
௯ஏனென்றால் நீ அப்பம் சாப்பிடாமலும், தண்ணீர் குடிக்காமலும், போனவழியாகத் திரும்பாலும் இரு என்று யெகோவா தம்முடைய வார்த்தையால் எனக்குக் கட்டளையிட்டிருக்கிறார் என்று சொல்லி,
10 So the man of God left another way and did not return to his home by the way that he had come to Bethel.
௧0அவன் பெத்தேலுக்கு வந்த வழியாகத் திரும்பாமல், வேறு வழியாகப் போய்விட்டான்.
11 Now there was an old prophet living in Bethel, and one of his sons came and told him all the things that the man of God had done that day in Bethel. His sons also told him the words that the man of God had spoken to the king.
௧௧வயது முதிர்ந்த ஒரு தீர்க்கதரிசி பெத்தேலிலே குடியிருந்தான்; அவனுடைய மகன்கள் வந்து தேவனுடைய மனிதன் அன்றையதினம் பெத்தேலிலே செய்த எல்லா செய்கைகளையும், அவன் ராஜாவோடு சொன்ன வார்த்தைகளையும் தங்களுடைய தகப்பனுக்கு அறிவித்தார்கள்.
12 Their father said to them, “Which way did he go?” Now his sons had seen the way the man of God from Judah had gone.
௧௨அப்பொழுது அவர்களுடைய தகப்பன்: அவன் எந்த வழியாகப் போனான் என்று அவர்களைக் கேட்டான். யூதாவிலிருந்து வந்த தேவனுடைய மனிதன் போனவழி எதுவென்று அவனுடைய மகன்கள் பார்த்திருந்தபடியால்,
13 So he said to his sons, “Saddle the donkey for me.” So they saddled the donkey and he rode off on it.
௧௩அவன் தன்னுடைய மகன்களிடம்: கழுதையின்மேல் சேணம் வைத்துக் கொடுங்கள் என்றான்; அவர்கள் கழுதையின்மேல் சேணம் வைத்துக் கொடுத்தபின்பு, அவன் அதின்மேல் ஏறி,
14 The old prophet went after the man of God and found him sitting under an oak tree; and he said to him, “Are you the man of God who came from Judah?” He answered, “I am.”
௧௪தேவனுடைய மனிதனைத் தொடர்ந்துபோய், ஒரு கர்வாலி மரத்தின்கீழ் உட்கார்ந்திருக்கிற அவனைக் கண்டு: யூதாவிலிருந்து வந்த தேவனுடைய மனிதன் நீர்தானா என்று அவனைக் கேட்டதற்கு; அவன், நான்தான் என்றான்.
15 Then the old prophet said to him, “Come home with me and eat food.”
௧௫அப்பொழுது அவனை நோக்கி: என்னோடு வீட்டுக்கு வந்து அப்பம் சாப்பிடும் என்றான்.
16 The man of God answered, “I may not return with you nor go in with you, neither will I eat food nor drink water with you in this place,
௧௬அதற்கு அவன்: நான் உம்மோடு திரும்பவும், உம்மோடு உள்ளே வரவுமாட்டேன்; இந்த இடத்திலே உம்மோடு நான் அப்பம் சாப்பிடவும் தண்ணீர் குடிக்கவுமாட்டேன்.
17 because it was commanded to me by the word of Yahweh, 'You will eat no food nor drink water there, nor return by the way that you came.'”
௧௭ஏனென்றால் நீ அப்பம் சாப்பிடாமலும், அங்கே தண்ணீர் குடிக்காமலும், நீ போன வழியாகத் திரும்பிவராமலும் இரு என்று யெகோவாவுடைய வார்த்தை எனக்கு உண்டாயிருக்கிறது என்றான்.
18 So the old prophet said to him, “I also am a prophet as you are, and an angel spoke to me by the word of Yahweh, saying, 'Bring him back with you into your house, that he may eat food and drink water.'” But he was lying to the man of God.
௧௮அதற்கு அவன்: உம்மைப்போல நானும் தீர்க்கதரிசிதான்; அவன் அப்பம் சாப்பிட்டுத் தண்ணீர் குடிக்க, நீ அவனைத் திருப்பி, உன்னுடைய வீட்டுக்கு அழைத்துக் கொண்டுவா என்று ஒரு தூதன் யெகோவாவுடைய வார்த்தையாக என்னோடு சொன்னான் என்று அவனிடம் பொய் சொன்னான்.
19 So the man of God went back with the old prophet and ate food in his house and drank water.
௧௯அப்பொழுது அவன் இவனோடு திரும்பிப் போய், இவன் வீட்டிலே அப்பம் சாப்பிட்டுத் தண்ணீர் குடித்தான்.
20 As they sat at the table, the word of Yahweh came to the prophet who had brought him back,
௨0அவர்கள் பந்தியில் உட்கார்ந்திருக்கிறபோது, அவனைத் திருப்பிக் கொண்டுவந்த தீர்க்கதரிசிக்குக் யெகோவாவுடைய வார்த்தை உண்டானதால்,
21 and he cried to the man of God who came from Judah, saying, “Yahweh says, 'Because you have been disobedient to the word of Yahweh and have not kept the command that Yahweh your God gave you,
௨௧அவன் யூதாவிலிருந்து வந்த தேவனுடைய மனிதனைப் பார்த்துச் சத்தமிட்டு, உன்னுடைய தேவனாகிய யெகோவா உனக்குக் கற்பித்த கட்டளையை நீ கைக்கொள்ளாமல் யெகோவாவுடைய வார்த்தையை மீறி,
22 but came back and have eaten food and drunk water in the place about which Yahweh told you to eat no food and drink no water, your body will not be buried in the tomb of your fathers.'”
௨௨அப்பம் சாப்பிடவும் தண்ணீர் குடிக்கவும் வேண்டாம் என்று அவர் விலக்கின இடத்திற்கு நீ திரும்பிப் போய், அப்பம் சாப்பிட்டுத் தண்ணீர் குடித்ததால், உன்னுடைய சடலம் உன்னுடைய பிதாக்களின் கல்லறையிலே சேருவதில்லை என்று யெகோவா சொல்லுகிறார் என்றான்.
23 After he had eaten food and after he had drunk, the prophet saddled the donkey of the man of God, the man who had come back with him.
௨௩அவன் சாப்பிட்டுக் குடித்து முடிந்தபின்பு, அந்தத் தீர்க்கதரிசியைத் திருப்பிக் கொண்டுவந்தவன் அவனுக்குக் கழுதையின்மேல் சேணம் வைத்துக்கொடுத்தான்.
24 When the man of God was gone, a lion met him on the road and killed him, and his body was left on the road. Then the donkey stood by it, and the lion also stood by the body.
௨௪அவன் போனபிறகு வழியிலே ஒரு சிங்கம் அவனுக்கு எதிர்ப்பட்டு அவனைக் கொன்றுபோட்டது; அவனுடைய சடலம் வழியில் கிடந்தது; கழுதை அதின் அருகில் நின்றது; சிங்கமும் சடலத்தின் அருகில் நின்றது.
25 When men passed by and saw the body left on the road, and the lion standing by the body, they came and told it in the city where the old prophet lived.
௨௫அந்த வழியே கடந்துவருகிற மனிதர்கள், வழியிலே கிடந்த சடலத்தையும், சடலத்தின் அருகில் நிற்கிற சிங்கத்தையும் கண்டு, கிழவனான தீர்க்கதரிசி குடியிருந்த பட்டணத்திலே வந்து சொன்னார்கள்.
26 When the prophet who had brought him back from the way heard it, he said, “It is the man of God who disobeyed the word of Yahweh. Therefore Yahweh gave him to the lion, which tore him to pieces and killed him, just as the word of Yahweh warned him.”
௨௬அவனை வழியிலிருந்து திரும்பச்செய்த தீர்க்கதரிசி அதைக் கேட்டபோது, அவன் யெகோவாவுடைய வாக்கை மீறிய தேவனுடைய மனிதன் தான், யெகோவா அவனுக்குச் சொன்ன வார்த்தையின்படியே, யெகோவா அவனை ஒரு சிங்கத்திற்கு ஒப்புக்கொடுத்தார்; அது அவனைத் தாக்கிக் கொன்றுபோட்டது என்று சொல்லி,
27 So the old prophet spoke to his sons, saying, “Saddle my donkey,” and they saddled it.
௨௭தன் மகன்களை நோக்கி: எனக்குக் கழுதையின்மேல் சேணம் வைத்துக் கொடுங்கள் என்றான்; அவர்கள் சேணம் வைத்துக் கொடுத்தார்கள்.
28 He went and found the body left in the road, and the donkey and the lion standing by the body. The lion had not eaten the body, nor attacked the donkey.
௨௮அப்பொழுது அவன் போய், வழியிலே கிடக்கிற அவனுடைய சடலத்தையும், சடலத்தின் அருகில் கழுதையும் சிங்கமும் நிற்பதையும் கண்டான்; அந்தச் சிங்கம் சடலத்தை சாப்பிடவும் இல்லை, கழுதையை தாக்கவும் இல்லை.
29 The prophet took up the body of the man of God, laid it on the donkey, and brought it back. He came to his own city to mourn and to bury him.
௨௯அப்பொழுது வயது முதிர்ந்த அந்தத் தீர்க்கதரிசி தேவனுடைய மனிதனின் சடலத்தை எடுத்து, அதைக் கழுதையின்மேல் வைத்து, அதற்காகத் துக்கம் கொண்டாடவும் அதை அடக்கம் செய்யவும், அதைத் தன்னுடைய பட்டணத்திற்குக் கொண்டுவந்து,
30 He laid the body in his own grave, and they mourned over him, saying, “Woe, my brother!”
௩0அவனுடைய சடலத்தைத் தன்னுடைய கல்லறையில் வைத்தான். அவனுக்காக: ஐயோ, என்னுடைய சகோதரனே என்று புலம்பி, துக்கம்கொண்டாடினார்கள்.
31 Then after he had buried him, the old prophet spoke to his sons, saying, “When I am dead, bury me in the tomb in which the man of God is buried. Lay my bones beside his bones.
௩௧அவனை அடக்கம்செய்த பின்பு, அவன் தன்னுடைய மகன்களை நோக்கி: நான் மரணமடையும்போது, தேவனுடைய மனிதன் அடக்கம்செய்யப்பட்ட கல்லறையிலே என்னையும் நீங்கள் அடக்கம்செய்து, அவனுடைய எலும்புகளின் அருகில் என்னுடைய எலும்புகளையும் வையுங்கள்.
32 For the message he declared by the word of Yahweh, against the altar in Bethel and against all the houses on the high places in the cities of Samaria, will certainly happen.”
௩௨அவன் பெத்தேலில் இருக்கிற பலிபீடத்திற்கும், சமாரியாவின் பட்டணங்களில் இருக்கிற மேடைகளாகிய எல்லாக் கோவில்களுக்கும் விரோதமாகக் கூறிய யெகோவாவுடைய வார்த்தை நிச்சயமாக நிறைவேறும் என்றான்.
33 After this Jeroboam did not turn from his evil way, but continued to appoint common priests for the high places from among all sorts of people. Any who would serve he consecrated as a priest.
௩௩இதற்குப்பின்பு, யெரொபெயாம் தன்னுடைய பொல்லாத வழியைவிட்டுத் திரும்பாமல், மறுபடியும் மக்களில் தாழ்ந்தவர்களை மேடைகளின் ஆசாரியர்களாக்கினான்; எவன்மேல் அவனுக்கு விருப்பம் இருந்ததோ அவனைப் பிரதிஷ்டை செய்தான்; அப்படிப்பட்டவர்கள் மேடைகளின் ஆசாரியர்களானார்கள்.
34 This matter became sin to the family of Jeroboam and caused his family to be destroyed and to be exterminated from the face of the earth.
௩௪யெரொபெயாமின் வீட்டாரை பூமியின்மேல் வைக்காமல் அவர்களை நீக்கி அழிக்கும்படியாக இந்தக் காரியம் அவர்களுக்குப் பாவமானது.
