1 Corinthians 8
1 Now about food sacrificed to idols: We know that we all have knowledge. Knowledge puffs up, but love builds up.
தே³வப்ரஸாதே³ ஸர்வ்வேஷாம் அஸ்மாகம்’ ஜ்ஞாநமாஸ்தே தத்³வயம்’ வித்³ம: | ததா²பி ஜ்ஞாநம்’ க³ர்வ்வம்’ ஜநயதி கிந்து ப்ரேமதோ நிஷ்டா² ஜாயதே|
2 If anyone thinks he knows something, that person does not yet know as he should know.
அத: கஸ்²சந யதி³ மந்யதே மம ஜ்ஞாநமாஸ்த இதி தர்ஹி தேந யாத்³ரு’ஸ²ம்’ ஜ்ஞாநம்’ சேஷ்டிதவ்யம்’ தாத்³ரு’ஸ²ம்’ கிமபி ஜ்ஞாநமத்³யாபி ந லப்³த⁴ம்’|
3 But if anyone loves God, that person is known by him.
கிந்து ய ஈஸ்²வரே ப்ரீயதே ஸ ஈஸ்²வரேணாபி ஜ்ஞாயதே|
4 So then, about eating food sacrificed to idols: We know that an idol in this world is nothing and that there is no God but one.
தே³வதாப³லிப்ரஸாத³ப⁴க்ஷணே வயமித³ம்’ வித்³மோ யத் ஜக³ந்மத்⁴யே கோ(அ)பி தே³வோ ந வித்³யதே, ஏகஸ்²சேஸ்²வரோ த்³விதீயோ நாஸ்தீதி|
5 For maybe so-called gods do exist, either in heaven or on earth, just as there are many “gods” and many “lords.”
ஸ்வர்கே³ ப்ரு’தி²வ்யாம்’ வா யத்³யபி கேஷுசித்³ ஈஸ்²வர இதி நாமாரோப்யதே தாத்³ரு’ஸா²ஸ்²ச ப³ஹவ ஈஸ்²வரா ப³ஹவஸ்²ச ப்ரப⁴வோ வித்³யந்தே
6 Yet for us there is only one God, the Father, from whom are all things and for whom we live, and one Lord Jesus Christ, through whom all things exist, and through whom we exist.
ததா²ப்யஸ்மாகமத்³விதீய ஈஸ்²வர: ஸ பிதா யஸ்மாத் ஸர்வ்வேஷாம்’ யத³ர்த²ஞ்சாஸ்மாகம்’ ஸ்ரு’ஷ்டி ர்ஜாதா, அஸ்மாகஞ்சாத்³விதீய: ப்ரபு⁴: ஸ யீஸு²: க்²ரீஷ்டோ யேந ஸர்வ்வவஸ்தூநாம்’ யேநாஸ்மாகமபி ஸ்ரு’ஷ்டி: க்ரு’தா|
7 However, this knowledge is not in everyone. Instead, some previously practiced idol worship, and they eat this food as if it were something sacrificed to an idol. Their conscience is thereby corrupted because it is weak.
அதி⁴கந்து ஜ்ஞாநம்’ ஸர்வ்வேஷாம்’ நாஸ்தி யத: கேசித³த்³யாபி தே³வதாம்’ ஸம்மந்ய தே³வப்ரஸாத³மிவ தத்³ ப⁴க்ஷ்யம்’ பு⁴ஞ்ஜதே தேந து³ர்ப்³ப³லதயா தேஷாம்’ ஸ்வாந்தாநி மலீமஸாநி ப⁴வந்தி|
8 But food will not present us to God. We are not worse if we do not eat, nor better if we do eat it.
கிந்து ப⁴க்ஷ்யத்³ரவ்யாத்³ வயம் ஈஸ்²வரேண க்³ராஹ்யா ப⁴வாமஸ்தந்நஹி யதோ பு⁴ங்க்த்வா வயமுத்க்ரு’ஷ்டா ந ப⁴வாமஸ்தத்³வத³பு⁴ங்க்த்வாப்யபக்ரு’ஷ்டா ந ப⁴வாம: |
9 But take care that your freedom does not become a reason for someone who is weak in faith to stumble.
அதோ யுஷ்மாகம்’ யா க்ஷமதா ஸா து³ர்ப்³ப³லாநாம் உந்மாத²ஸ்வரூபா யந்ந ப⁴வேத் தத³ர்த²ம்’ ஸாவதா⁴நா ப⁴வத|
10 For suppose that someone sees you, who have knowledge, eating a meal in an idol's temple. Is not his weak conscience emboldened to eat what is offered to idols?
யதோ ஜ்ஞாநவிஸி²ஷ்டஸ்த்வம்’ யதி³ தே³வாலயே உபவிஷ்ட: கேநாபி த்³ரு’ஸ்²யஸே தர்ஹி தஸ்ய து³ர்ப்³ப³லஸ்ய மநஸி கிம்’ ப்ரஸாத³ப⁴க்ஷண உத்ஸாஹோ ந ஜநிஷ்யதே?
11 So because of your understanding about the true nature of idols, the weaker one, the brother for whom Christ died, is destroyed.
ததா² ஸதி யஸ்ய க்ரு’தே க்²ரீஷ்டோ மமார தவ ஸ து³ர்ப்³ப³லோ ப்⁴ராதா தவ ஜ்ஞாநாத் கிம்’ ந விநம்’க்ஷ்யதி?
12 Thus, when you sin against your brothers and wound their weak consciences, you sin against Christ.
இத்யநேந ப்ரகாரேண ப்⁴ராத்ரு’ணாம்’ விருத்³த⁴ம் அபராத்⁴யத்³பி⁴ஸ்தேஷாம்’ து³ர்ப்³ப³லாநி மநாம்’ஸி வ்யாகா⁴தயத்³பி⁴ஸ்²ச யுஷ்மாபி⁴: க்²ரீஷ்டஸ்ய வைபரீத்யேநாபராத்⁴யதே|
13 Therefore, if food causes my brother to stumble, I will never eat meat again, so that I may not cause my brother to fall. (aiōn g165)
அதோ ஹேதோ: பிஸி²தாஸ²நம்’ யதி³ மம ப்⁴ராது ர்விக்⁴நஸ்வரூபம்’ ப⁴வேத் தர்ஹ்யஹம்’ யத் ஸ்வப்⁴ராது ர்விக்⁴நஜநகோ ந ப⁴வேயம்’ தத³ர்த²ம்’ யாவஜ்ஜீவநம்’ பிஸி²தம்’ ந போ⁴க்ஷ்யே| (aiōn g165)
