1 Corinthians 11
1 Be imitators of me, just as I am an imitator of Christ.
তোমরা আমার আদর্শ অনুকরণ করো, যেমন আমিও খ্রীষ্টের আদর্শ অনুকরণ করি।
2 Now I praise you because you remember me in everything. I praise you because you hold fast to the traditions just as I delivered them to you.
আমি তোমাদের প্রশংসা করি, কারণ তোমরা সব বিষয়ে আমাকে স্মরণ করে থাকো ও তোমাদের যে শিক্ষা আমি দিই, তা হুবহু তোমরা মেনে চলো।
3 Now I want you to understand that Christ is the head of every man, that a man is the head of a woman, and that God is the head of Christ.
এখন আমি চাই, তোমরা যেন উপলব্ধি করো যে, প্রত্যেক পুরুষের মস্তকস্বরূপ হলেন খ্রীষ্ট এবং নারীর মস্তকস্বরূপ হল পুরুষ, আবার খ্রীষ্টের মস্তকস্বরূপ হলেন ঈশ্বর।
4 Any man who prays or prophesies with his head covered dishonors his head.
যে পুরুষ তার মস্তক আবৃত রেখে প্রার্থনা করে বা ভাববাণী বলে, সে তার মস্তকের অবমাননা করে।
5 But any woman who prays or prophesies with her head uncovered dishonors her head. For it is the same thing as if her head were shaved.
আবার, কোনো নারী যখন মস্তক অনাবৃত রেখে প্রার্থনা করে বা ভাববাণী বলে, সে তার মস্তকের অবমাননা করে—এ যেন তার মস্তক মুণ্ডন করা হয়েছে, সেরকম।
6 For if a woman will not cover her head, she should cut her hair short. If it is disgraceful for a woman to have her hair cut off or for her to shave her head, let her cover her head.
কোনো নারী যদি তার মস্তক আবৃত না করে, তাহলে তার চুল কেটে ফেলাই উচিত; কিন্তু চুল কেটে ফেলা বা মুণ্ডন করা যদি নারীর কাছে অবমাননাকর বলে মনে হয়, সে তার মস্তকে আবরণ দিক।
7 For a man should not have his head covered, since he is the image and glory of God. But the woman is the glory of the man.
কোনো পুরুষ অবশ্যই তার মস্তক আবৃত করবে না, কারণ সে ঈশ্বরের প্রতিমূর্তি ও গৌরব; কিন্তু নারী পুরুষের গৌরব।
8 For man was not made from woman. Instead, woman was made from man.
কারণ পুরুষের উদ্ভব নারী থেকে নয়, কিন্তু নারীর উদ্ভব পুরুষ থেকে।
9 For neither was man created for woman. Instead, woman was created for man.
আবার, পুরুষের সৃষ্টি নারীর জন্য হয়নি, কিন্তু নারীর সৃষ্টি হয়েছে পুরুষের জন্য।
10 This is why the woman ought to have a symbol of authority on her head, because of the angels.
এই কারণে ও স্বর্গদূতদের জন্য, নারী তার মস্তকে কর্তৃত্বের চিহ্ন রাখবে।
11 Nevertheless, in the Lord, the woman is not independent from the man, nor is the man independent from the woman.
অবশ্য, প্রভুতে নারীও পুরুষ থেকে স্বতন্ত্র নয়, আবার পুরুষও নারী থেকে স্বতন্ত্র নয়।
12 For as the woman comes from the man, so does the man come from the woman. And all things come from God.
কারণ যেমন নারী এসেছে পুরুষ থেকে, তেমনই পুরুষেরও জন্ম হয়েছে নারী থেকে। কিন্তু ঈশ্বর থেকে সকলই উদ্ভূত হয়।
13 Judge for yourselves: Is it proper for a woman to pray to God with her head uncovered?
তোমরা নিজেরাই বিচার করো: মস্তক অনাবৃত রেখে কোনো নারীর ঈশ্বরের কাছে প্রার্থনা করা কি যথাযথ?
14 Does not even nature itself teach you that if a man has long hair, it is a disgrace for him?
স্বয়ং প্রকৃতিও কি এই বিষয়ের শিক্ষা দেয় না যে, যদি কোনও পুরুষ লম্বা চুল রাখে, তাহলে তা তার পক্ষে অসম্মানজনক বিষয়,
15 Does not nature teach you that if a woman has long hair, it is her glory? For her hair has been given to her as a covering.
কিন্তু কোনো নারীর যদি লম্বা চুল থাকে, তাহলে, তা তার গৌরবের বিষয়, কারণ লম্বা চুল তাকে আবরণের পরিবর্তে দেওয়া হয়েছে।
16 But if anyone wants to argue about this, we do not have any other practice, nor do the churches of God.
কেউ যদি এ বিষয়ে বিবাদ করতে চায়, তাহলে আমাদের অন্য কোনও আচরণ-বিধি নেই, কিংবা ঈশ্বরের মণ্ডলীরও নেই।
17 But in the following instructions, I do not praise you. For when you come together, it is not for the better but for the worse.
পরবর্তী নির্দেশগুলি দেওয়ার সময়, আমি তোমাদের প্রশংসা করি না, কারণ তোমাদের সমবেত হওয়া ভালোর চেয়ে ক্ষতিই বেশি করে।
18 For in the first place, I hear that when you come together in the church, there are divisions among you, and in part I believe it.
প্রথমত, আমি শুনতে পাচ্ছি, তোমরা যখন মণ্ডলীগতভাবে সমবেত হও, তোমাদের মধ্যে দলাদলি হয়ে থাকে এবং এর কিছুটা আমি বিশ্বাসও করি।
19 For there must also be factions among you, so that those who are approved may be recognized among you.
কোনো সন্দেহ নেই, তোমাদের মধ্যে মতবিরোধ হতেই হবে, যেন তোমাদের মধ্যে যারা ঈশ্বরের অনুমোদন লাভ করেছে, তাদের বুঝতে পারা যায়।
20 For when you come together, it is not the Lord's Supper that you eat.
তোমরা যখন একত্রে সমবেত হও, তোমরা যে প্রভুর ভোজ গ্রহণ করো, তা নয়,
21 When you eat, each one eats his own food before the others have their meal. One is hungry, and another becomes drunk.
কারণ যখন তোমরা ভোজন করো, তখন তোমাদের প্রত্যেকে অন্য কারও জন্য অপেক্ষা না করে, নিজেরাই প্রথমে ভোজন করে থাকো। একজন থাকে ক্ষুধার্ত, অপর একজন মত্ত হয়।
22 Do you not have houses to eat and to drink in? Do you despise the church of God and humiliate those who have nothing? What should I say to you? Should I praise you? I will not praise you for this!
ভোজনপান করার জন্য কি তোমাদের ঘরবাড়ি নেই? নাকি, তোমরা ঈশ্বরের মণ্ডলীকে অবজ্ঞা করছ ও যাদের কিছু নেই, তাদের লজ্জা দিচ্ছ? তোমাদের আমি কী বলব? এর জন্য আমি কি তোমাদের প্রশংসা করব? কোনোমতেই নয়!
23 For I received from the Lord what I also passed on to you, that the Lord Jesus, on the night when he was betrayed, took bread.
কারণ প্রভু থেকে আমি যে শিক্ষা লাভ করেছি, তোমাদের কাছে আমি তাই সমর্পণ করছি। যে রাত্রিতে প্রভু যীশুর প্রতি বিশ্বাসঘাতকতা করা হয়, তিনি রুটি নিলেন
24 After he had given thanks, he broke it and said, “This is my body, which is for you. Do this to remember me.”
এবং ধন্যবাদ দিয়ে তা ভাঙলেন ও বললেন, “এ আমার দেহ, এ তোমাদেরই জন্য; তোমরা আমার স্মরণার্থে এরকম কোরো।”
25 In the same way he took the cup after supper, and he said, “This cup is the new covenant in my blood. Do this as often as you drink it, to remember me.”
একইভাবে, খাবারের পরে তিনি পানপাত্র নিয়ে বললেন, “এই পানপাত্র আমার রক্তে নতুন নিয়ম, তোমরা যখনই এটা পান করবে, আমার স্মরণার্থেই তা করবে।”
26 For every time you eat this bread and drink this cup, you proclaim the Lord's death until he comes.
কারণ যখনই তোমরা এই রুটি ভোজন করো ও এই পানপাত্র থেকে পান করো, তোমরা প্রভুর মৃত্যু ঘোষণা করে থাকো, যতদিন পর্যন্ত তিনি না আসেন।
27 Whoever, therefore, eats the bread or drinks the cup of the Lord in an unworthy manner, will be guilty of the body and the blood of the Lord.
অতএব, যে কেউ যদি অযোগ্যরূপে এই রুটি ভোজন করে, বা প্রভুর পানপাত্র থেকে পান করে, সে প্রভুর দেহ ও প্রভুর রক্তের বিরুদ্ধে পাপ করার জন্য দোষী সাব্যস্ত হবে।
28 Let a person examine himself first, and in this way let him eat of the bread and drink of the cup.
সেই রুটি ভোজন ও পানপাত্র থেকে পান করার পূর্বে কোনো মানুষের অবশ্যই নিজেকে পরীক্ষা করে দেখা উচিত,
29 For he who eats and drinks without discerning the body, eats and drinks judgment to himself.
কারণ কেউ যদি প্রভুর দেহ উপলব্ধি না করে ভোজন ও পান করে, সে নিজেরই উপরে বিচারের শাস্তি ভোজন ও পান করে।
30 That is why many among you are weak and ill, and some of you have fallen asleep.
এই কারণেই তোমাদের মধ্যে অনেকে দুর্বল ও পীড়িত এবং বেশ কয়েকজন নিদ্রাগত হয়েছে।
31 But if we examine ourselves, we will not be judged.
কিন্তু যদি আমরা নিজেদের বিচার করতাম, তাহলে বিচারের দায়ে পড়তাম না।
32 But when we are judged by the Lord, we are disciplined, so that we may not be condemned along with the world.
যখন আমরা প্রভুর দ্বারা বিচারিত হই, আমরা শাসিত হই, যেন আমরা জগতের সঙ্গে শাস্তিপ্রাপ্ত না হই।
33 Therefore, my brothers, when you come together to eat, wait for one another.
তাই, আমার ভাইবোনেরা, তোমরা যখন প্রভুর ভোজের জন্য সমবেত হও, পরস্পরের জন্য অপেক্ষা করো। কেউ ক্ষুধার্ত থাকলে সে তার নিজের বাড়িতেই আহার করুক,
34 If anyone is hungry, let him eat at home, so that when you come together it will not be for judgment. And about the other things you wrote, I will give directions when I come.
যেন তোমাদের সমবেত হওয়া বিচারের কারণ হয়ে না দাঁড়ায়। এরপর আমি উপস্থিত হলে তোমাদের আরও সব নির্দেশ দেব।
