1 Chronicles 17

1 It happened that after the king had settled in his house, he said to Nathan the prophet, “Look, I am living in a house of cedar, but the ark of the covenant of Yahweh is staying under a tent.”

ദാവീദ് തന്റെ അരമനയിൽ വസിച്ചിരിക്കുംകാലത്തു ഒരുനാൾ നാഥാൻപ്രവാചകനോടു: ഇതാ ഞാൻ ദേവദാരുകൊണ്ടുള്ള അരമനയിൽ വസിക്കുന്നു; യഹോവയുടെ നിയമപെട്ടകമോ തിരശ്ശീലകൾക്കു കീഴെ ഇരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

2 Then Nathan said to David, “Go, do what is in your heart, for God is with you.”

നാഥാൻ ദാവീദിനോടു: നിന്റെ താല്പര്യംപോലെയൊക്കെയും ചെയ്താലും; യഹോവ നിന്നോടുകൂടെ ഉണ്ടു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

3 But that same night the word of God came to Nathan, saying,

എന്നാൽ അന്നു രാത്രി നാഥാന്നു ദൈവത്തിന്റെ അരുളപ്പാടുണ്ടായതെന്തെന്നാൽ:

4 “Go and tell David my servant, 'This is what Yahweh says: You will not build me a house in which to live.

നീ ചെന്നു എന്റെ ദാസനായ ദാവീദിനോടു പറക: യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു; എനിക്കു വസിപ്പാനുള്ള ആലയം പണിയേണ്ടതു നീയല്ല.

5 For I have not lived in a house from the day that I brought up Israel to this present day. Instead, I have been living in a tent, a tabernacle, in various places.

ഞാൻ യിസ്രായേലിനെ കൊണ്ടുവന്ന നാൾമുതൽ ഇന്നുവരെയും ഞാൻ ഒരു ആലയത്തിൽ വാസം ചെയ്യാതെ കൂടാരത്തിൽനിന്നു കൂടരത്തിലേക്കും നിവാസത്തിൽനിന്നു നിവാസത്തിലേക്കും സഞ്ചരിച്ചു.

6 In all places I have moved among all Israel, did I ever say anything to any of Israel's leaders whom I appointed to shepherd my people, saying, “Why have you not built me a house of cedar?”'”

എല്ലായിസ്രായേലിനോടുംകൂടെ സഞ്ചരിച്ചുവന്ന സ്ഥലങ്ങളിൽ എവിടെവെച്ചെങ്കിലും എന്റെ ജനത്തെ മേയിപ്പാൻ ഞാൻ കല്പിച്ചാക്കിയ യിസ്രായേൽ ന്യായാധിപതിമാരിൽ ആരോടെങ്കിലും: നിങ്ങൾ എനിക്കു ദേവദാരുകൊണ്ടു ഒരു ആലയം പണിയാതെയിരിക്കുന്നതു എന്തു എന്നു ഒരു വാക്കു ഞാൻ കല്പിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ടോ?

7 “Now then, tell my servant David, 'This is what Yahweh of hosts says: I took you from the pasture, from following the sheep, so that you would be ruler over my people Israel.

ആകയാൽ നീ എന്റെ ഭൃത്യനായ ദാവീദിനോടു പറയേണ്ടതെന്തെന്നാൽ: സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു: നീ എന്റെ ജനമായ യിസ്രായേലിന്നു പ്രഭുവായിരിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു ഞാൻ നിന്നെ പുല്പുറത്തു നിന്നു, ആടുകളെ നോക്കുമ്പോൾ തന്നേ എടുത്തു.

8 I have been with you wherever you went and have cut off all your enemies from before you, and I will make you a name, like the name of the great ones who are on the earth.

നീ സഞ്ചരിച്ചുവന്ന എല്ലായിടത്തും ഞാൻ നിന്നോടുകൂടെ ഇരുന്നു നിന്റെ സകലശത്രുക്കളെയും നിന്റെ മുമ്പിൽനിന്നു ഛേദിച്ചുകളഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നു; ഭൂമിയിലുള്ള മഹാന്മാരുടെ നാമംപോലെ ഒരു നാമം ഞാൻ നിനക്കു ഉണ്ടാക്കും.

9 I will appoint a place for my people Israel and will plant them there, so that they may live in their own place and be troubled no more. No longer will wicked people oppress them, as they did before,

ഞാൻ എന്റെ ജനമായ യിസ്രായേലിന്നു ഒരു സ്ഥലം കല്പിച്ചുകൊടുക്കയും അവർ സ്വന്തസ്ഥലത്തു പാർത്തു അവിടെനിന്നു ഇളകാതവണ്ണം അവരെ നടുകയും ചെയ്യും; പണ്ടത്തെപ്പോലെയും എന്റെ ജനമായ യിസ്രായേലിന്നു ഞാൻ ന്യായാധിപന്മാരെ കല്പിച്ചാക്കിയ കാലത്തെപ്പോലെയും ഇനി ദുഷ്ടന്മാർ അവരെ ക്ഷയിപ്പിക്കയില്ല.

10 as they were doing from the days that I commanded judges to be over my people Israel. Then I will subdue all your enemies. Moreover I tell you that I, Yahweh, will build you a house.

ഞാൻ നിന്റെ സകലശത്രുക്കളെയും അടക്കും; യഹോവ നിനക്കു ഒരു ഗൃഹം പണിയുമെന്നും ഞാൻ നിന്നോടു അറിയിക്കുന്നു.

11 It will come about that when your days are fulfilled for you to go to your fathers, I will raise up your descendant after you, and for one of your own descendants, I will establish his kingdom.

നീ നിന്റെ പിതാക്കന്മാരുടെ അടുക്കൽ പോകേണ്ടതിന്നു നിന്റെ ജീവകാലം തികയുമ്പോൾ ഞാൻ നിന്റെശേഷം നിന്റെ പുത്രന്മാരിൽ ഒരുവനായ നിന്റെ സന്തതിയെ എഴുന്നേല്പിക്കയും അവന്റെ രാജത്വം സ്ഥിരമാക്കുകയും ചെയ്യും.

12 He will build me a house, and I will establish his throne forever.

അവൻ എനിക്കു ഒരു ആലയം പണിയും; ഞാൻ അവന്റെ സിംഹാസനം എന്നേക്കും സ്ഥിരമാക്കും.

13 I will be a father to him, and he will be my son. I will not take my covenant faithfulness away from him, as I took it from Saul, who ruled before you.

ഞാൻ അവന്നു പിതാവും അവൻ എനിക്കു പുത്രനും ആയിരിക്കും; നിന്റെ മുൻവാഴ്ചക്കാരനോടു ഞാൻ എന്റെ കൃപ എടുത്തുകളഞ്ഞതുപോലെ അവനോടു അതിനെ എടുത്തുകളകയില്ല.

14 I will set him over my house and in my kingdom forever, and his throne will be established forever.'”

ഞാൻ അവനെ എന്റെ ആലയത്തിലും എന്റെ രാജത്വത്തിലും എന്നേക്കും നിലനിർത്തും; അവന്റെ സിംഹാസനവും എന്നേക്കും സ്ഥിരമായിരിക്കും.

15 Nathan spoke to David and reported to him all these words, and he told him about the entire vision.

ഈ വാക്കുകളും ഈ ദർശനവും എല്ലാം നാഥാൻ ദാവീദിനോടു പ്രസ്താവിച്ചു.

16 Then David the king went in and sat before Yahweh; he said, “Who am I, Yahweh God, and what is my family, that you have brought me to this point?

അപ്പോൾ ദാവീദ്‌ രാജാവു അകത്തു ചെന്നു യഹോവയുടെ സന്നിധിയിൽ ഇരുന്നു പറഞ്ഞതെന്തെന്നാൽ: യഹോവയായ ദൈവമേ, നീ എന്നെ ഇത്രത്തോളം കൊണ്ടുവരുവാൻ ഞാൻ ആർ? എന്റെ ഗൃഹവും എന്തുള്ളു?

17 For this was a small thing in your sight, God. You have spoken of your servant's family for a great while to come, and have shown me future generations, Yahweh God.

ദൈവമേ, ഇതും പോരാ എന്നു തോന്നീട്ടു യഹോവയായ ദൈവമേ, വരുവാനുള്ള ദീർഘകാലത്തേക്കു അടിയന്റെ ഗൃഹത്തെക്കുറിച്ചും നീ അരുളിച്ചെയ്കയും ശ്രേഷ്ഠപദവിയിലുള്ള മനുഷ്യന്റെ അവസ്ഥെക്കൊത്തവണ്ണം എന്നെ ആദരിക്കയും ചെയ്തിരിക്കുന്നു.

18 What more can I, David, say to you? You have honored your servant. You have given your servant special recognition.

അടിയന്നു ചെയ്ത ബഹുമാനത്തെക്കുറിച്ചു ദാവീദ് ഇനി എന്തു പറയേണ്ടു? നീ അടിയനെ അറിയുന്നുവല്ലോ.

19 Yahweh, for your servant's sake, and to fulfill your own purpose, you have done this great thing to reveal all your great deeds.

യഹോവേ, അടിയൻ നിമിത്തവും നിന്റെ പ്രസാദപ്രകാരവും നീ ഈ മഹിമ ഒക്കെയും പ്രവർത്തിച്ചു ഈ വങ്കാര്യം എല്ലാം അറിയിച്ചുതന്നിരിക്കുന്നു.

20 Yahweh, there is none like you, and there is no God besides you, just as we have always heard.

ഞങ്ങൾ സ്വന്തചെവികൊണ്ടു കേട്ടതൊക്കെയും ഓർത്താൽ യഹോവേ, നിന്നെപ്പോലെ ഒരുത്തനുമില്ല; നീ അല്ലാതെ ഒരു ദൈവവുമില്ല.

21 For what nation on earth is like your people Israel, whom you, God, rescued from Egypt as a people for yourself, to make a name for yourself by great and awesome deeds? You drove out nations from before your people, whom you rescued from Egypt.

മിസ്രയീമിൽനിന്നു നീ ഉദ്ധരിച്ച നിന്റെ ജനത്തിന്റെ മുമ്പിൽനിന്നു ജാതികളെ നീക്കിക്കളകയിൽ വലിയതും ഭയങ്കരവുമായ കാര്യങ്ങളാൽ നിനക്കു ഒരു നാമം സമ്പാദിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു, ദൈവമേ നീ ചെന്നു നിനക്കു സ്വന്തജനമായി വീണ്ടെടുത്ത നിന്റെ ജനമായ യിസ്രായേലിനെപ്പോലെ ഭൂമിയിൽ ഏതൊരു ജാതിയുള്ളു?

22 You made Israel your own people forever, and you, Yahweh, became their God.

നിന്റെ ജനമായ യിസ്രായേലിനെ നീ എന്നേക്കും നിനക്കു സ്വന്തജനമാക്കുകയും യഹോവേ, നീ അവർക്കു ദൈവമായ്തീരുകയും ചെയ്തുവല്ലോ.

23 So now, Yahweh, may the promise that you made concerning your servant and his family be established forever. Do as you have spoken.

ആകയാൽ യഹോവേ, ഇപ്പോൾ നീ അടിയനെയും അടിയന്റെ ഗൃഹത്തെയും കുറിച്ചു അരുളിച്ചെയ്ത വചനം എന്നേക്കും സ്ഥിരമായിരിക്കട്ടെ; അരുളിച്ചെയ്തതുപോലെ തന്നേ ചെയ്യേണമേ.

24 May your name be established forever and be great, so the people will say, 'Yahweh of hosts is the God of Israel,' while the house of me, David, your servant is established before you.

സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ യഹോവ യിസ്രായേലിന്റെ ദൈവമാകുന്നു; യിസ്രായേലിന്നു ദൈവം തന്നേ എന്നിങ്ങനെ നിന്റെ നാമം എന്നേക്കും സ്ഥിരപ്പെട്ടു മഹത്വപ്പെടുകയും നിന്റെ ദാസനായ ദാവീദിന്റെ ഗൃഹം നിന്റെ മുമ്പാകെ നിലനില്ക്കയും ചെയ്യുമാറാകട്ടെ.

25 For you, my God, have revealed to your servant that you will build him a house. That is why I, your servant, have found courage to pray to you.

എന്റെ ദൈവമേ, അടിയന്നു നീ ഒരു ഗൃഹം പണിയുമെന്നു വെളിപ്പെടുത്തിത്തന്നിരിക്കുന്നു; അതുകൊണ്ടു അടിയൻ തിരുസന്നിധിയിൽ പ്രാർത്ഥിപ്പാൻ ധൈര്യംപ്രാപിച്ചു.

26 Now, Yahweh, you are God, and have made this good promise to your servant:

ആകയാൽ യഹോവേ, നീ തന്നേ ദൈവം; അടിയന്നു ഈ നന്മയെ നീ വാഗ്ദാനം ചെയ്തുമിരിക്കുന്നു.

27 Now it has pleased you to bless your servant's house, that it may continue forever before you. You, Yahweh, have blessed it, and it will be blessed forever.”

അതുകൊണ്ടു അടിയന്റെ ഗൃഹം തിരുമുമ്പാകെ എന്നേക്കും ഇരിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു അതിനെ അനുഗ്രഹിപ്പാൻ നിനക്കു പ്രസാദം തോന്നിയിരിക്കുന്നു; യഹോവേ, നീ അനുഗ്രഹിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു; അതു എന്നേക്കും അനുഗ്രഹിക്കപ്പെട്ടും ഇരിക്കുന്നുവല്ലോ.
