< Romans 7 >
1 Remember ye not brethren (I speake to them yt know the lawe) how that the lawe hath power over a man as longe as it endureth?
Or are you ignorant, brothers — to those knowing for law I speak — that the law rules over the man for as long as [the] time he is alive?
2 For the woman which is in subieccion to a man is bounde by the lawe to the man as longe as he liveth. Yf the man be deed she is lowsed from the lawe of the man.
The for married woman to the living husband has been bound by law; if however shall die the husband, she has been cleared from the law of the husband.
3 So then yf whill the man liveth she couple her selfe with another man she shalbe counted a wedlocke breaker. But yf the man be deed she is fre fro the lawe: so that she is no wedlocke breaker though she couple her selfe with another man.
Then therefore while is living the husband an adulteress she will be called if she shall become [married] to man another; if however shall die the husband, free she is from the law which not to be her an adulteress having become [married] to man another.
4 Even so ye my brethren are deed concerninge the lawe by the body of Christ yt ye shuld be coupled to another (I meane to him that is rysen agayne fro deeth) that we shuld bringe forth frute vnto God.
Likewise, brothers of mine, also you yourselves were put to death to the law through the body of Christ for to belong you to another, to the [One] out from [the] dead having been raised, so that we may bear fruit to God.
5 For when we were in the flesshe the lustes of synne which were stered vppe by ye lawe raygned in oure membres to bringe forth frute vnto deeth.
While for we were in the flesh, the passions of sins that [were] through the law were at work in the members of us to the bringing forth of fruit to death;
6 But now are we delivered fro the lawe and deed fro that whervnto we werein bondage that we shuld serve in a newe conversacion of ye sprete and not in ye olde conversacion of the letter.
Now however we have been released from the law having died to that which we were bound, in order for to serve us in newness of [the] Spirit and not in oldness of [the] letter.
7 What shall we saye then? is ye lawe synne? God forbid: but I knewe not what synne meant but by the lawe. For I had not knowne what lust had meant excepte the lawe had sayde thou shalt not lust.
What then will we say? [Is] the law sin? Never would it be! But sin not I have known only except through law; then for covetousness not I had known, only except the law was saying; Not you will covet;
8 But synne toke an occasion by the meanes of the commaundement and wrought in me all manner of concupiscece. For with out the lawe synne was deed.
An occasion however having taken sin through the commandment it produced in me myself all covetousness; apart from for [the] Law sin [is] dead;
9 I once lived with out lawe. But when the commaundement came synne revyved and I was deed.
I myself however was alive apart from law once; when was coming however the commandment the sin revived, I myself then died,
10 And the very same comaundement which was ordeyned vnto lyfe was founde to be vnto me an occasion of deeth.
And proved to be me the commandment that [was] to life this to death;
11 For synne toke occasion by the meanes of the comaundement and so disceaved me and by the selfe commaundement slewe we.
The for sin an occasion having taken through the commandment deceived me and through it put [me] to death;
12 Wherfore the lawe is holy and the commaundement holy iust and good.
So indeed the law [is] holy and the commandment [is] holy and righteous and good.
13 Was that then which is good made deeth vnto me? God forbyd. Naye synne was deeth vnto me that it myght appere how that synne by the meanes of that which is good had wrought deeth in me: that synne which is vnder the commandemet myght be out of measure synfull.
That which then [is] good to me myself (became *N(k)O*) death? Never would it be! But sin, in order that it may be shown as sin, through that which [is] good to me is working out death, so that may become beyond excess sinful sin through the commandment.
14 For we knowe that the lawe is spirituall: but I am carnall solde vnder synne
We know for that the Law spiritual is, I myself however (fleshly *N(k)O*) am sold under sin.
15 because I wote not what I doo. For what I wold that do I not: but what I hate that do I.
What for I do not I understand; not for what I want this I do, but what I hate this I do.
16 Yf I do now that which I wolde not I graute to the lawe that it is good.
If now that which not I do want this I do, I consent to the law that [it is] good;
17 So then nowe it is not I that do it but synne that dwelleth in me.
In that case now no longer no longer I myself am doing it but that which (is dwelling *NK(o)*) in me myself sin.
18 For I knowe that in me (that is to saye in my flesshe) dwelleth no good thinge. To will is present with me: but I fynde no meanes to performe that which is good.
I know for that nothing dwells in me myself, That is in the flesh of mine, good; for to wish [to do] is present with me, but to do the good not (find. *K*)
19 For I doo not yt good thinge which I wold: but that evill do I which I wolde not.
Not for that I desire I do good, but that not I do want evil this I practice.
20 Finally yf I do that I wolde not then is it not I that doo it but synne that dwelleth in me doeth it.
If now what not I do want (I myself *NK*) this do, no longer no longer I myself who do it but that which is dwelling in me myself sin.
21 I fynde then by the lawe that when I wolde do good evyll is present with me.
I find so the principle that which is desiring me myself to do good that me myself evil is present with.
22 I delite in the lawe of God concerninge the inner man.
I delight for in the law of God according to the inward man,
23 But I se another lawe in my membres rebellinge agaynst the lawe of my mynde and subduynge me vnto the lawe of synne which is in my membres.
I see however another law in the members of mine warring against the law of the mind of mine and making captive me (to *no*) the law of sin which is being in the members of mine.
24 O wretched man yt I am: who shall delyver me fro this body of deeth?
O wretched I myself [am] man! Who me will deliver out of the body of death this?
25 I thanke God thorow Iesus Christ oure Lorde. So then I my silfe in my mynde serve the lawe of God and in my flesshe the lawe of synne.
(Thanks [be] *N(K)O*) (then *no*) to God through Jesus Christ the Lord of us! Then so myself I myself with the indeed mind serve law of God but [with] the flesh [the] law of sin.
