Matthew 27
1 When the mornynge was come all ye chefe prestes and the elders of ye people helde a counsayle agenst Iesu to put him to deeth
Als es hierauf Tag geworden war, faßten alle Hohenpriester und die Ältesten des Volkes einen Beschluß gegen Jesus, um seine Hinrichtung zu erreichen.
2 and brought him bounde and delivered him vnto Poncius Pilate the debite.
Sie ließen ihn dann fesseln und abführen und übergaben ihn dem Statthalter Pontius Pilatus.
3 Then when Iudas which betrayed him sawe that he was condempned he repented him sylfe and brought ageyne the. xxx. plattes of sylver to ye chefe prestes and elders
Als jetzt Judas, sein Verräter, erkannte, daß er (Jesus) verurteilt worden war, bereute er seine Tat. Und er brachte die dreißig Silberstücke den Hohenpriestern und Ältesten zurück
4 sayinge: I have synned betrayinge the innocent bloud. And they sayde: what is that to vs? Se thou to that.
mit den Worten: »Ich habe unrecht getan, daß ich unschuldiges Blut überantwortet habe!« Sie aber erwiderten: »Was geht das uns an? Da sich du selber zu!«
5 And he cast doune the sylver plattes in the temple and departed and went and hounge him sylfe.
Da warf er das Geld in das Tempelhaus und machte sich davon, ging hin und erhängte sich.
6 And the chefe prestes toke the sylver plattes and sayd: it is not lawfull for to put them in to the treasury because it is the pryce of bloud.
Die Hohenpriester aber nahmen das Geld und sagten: »Es geht nicht an, daß wir es in den Tempelschatz tun, denn es ist Blutgeld.«
7 And they toke counsell and bought with them a potters felde to bury strangers in.
Nachdem sie dann einen Beschluß gefaßt hatten, kauften sie für das Geld den ›Töpferacker‹ zum Begräbnisplatz für die Fremden;
8 Wherfore that felde is called the felde of bloud vntyll this daye.
daher führt jener Acker den Namen ›Blutacker‹ (hebräisch Hakeldama) bis auf den heutigen Tag.
9 Then was fulfylled that which was spoken by Ieremy the Prophet sayinge: and they toke. xxx. sylver plattes the prise of him that was valued whom they bought of the chyldren of Israel
Damals erfüllte sich das Wort des Propheten Jeremia: »Sie nahmen die dreißig Silberstücke, den Geldbetrag für den so Gewerteten, auf den man von seiten der Israeliten einen solchen Preis ausgesetzt hatte,
10 and they gave them for the potters felde as the Lorde appoynted me.
und gaben sie für den Töpferacker, wie der Herr es mir geboten hatte.«
11 Iesus stode before the debite: and the debite axed him sayinge: Arte thou the kynge of ye Iues? Iesus sayd vnto him: Thou sayest
Jesus aber wurde dem Statthalter vorgeführt, und dieser befragte ihn mit den Worten: »Bist du der König der Juden?« Jesus antwortete: »Ja, ich bin es.«
12 and when he was accused of ye chefe prestes and elders he answered nothinge.
Während er dann von den Hohenpriestern und Ältesten angeklagt wurde, gab er keine Antwort.
13 Then sayd Pilate vnto him: hearest thou not how many thinges they laye ageynste ye?
Da fragte ihn Pilatus: »Hörst du nicht, was sie alles gegen dich aussagen?«
14 And he answered him to never a worde: in so moche that the debite marveylled greatlie.
Doch er antwortete ihm auf keine einzige Frage, so daß der Statthalter sich sehr verwunderte.
15 At that feest the debite was wonte to deliver vnto ye people a presoner whom they wolde desyer.
An jedem (Passah-) Fest aber pflegte der Statthalter dem Volke einen Gefangenen nach ihrer Wahl freizugeben.
16 He had then a notable presoner called Barrabas.
Man hatte aber damals einen berüchtigten Gefangenen namens Barabbas (in Haft).
17 And when they were gadered together Pilate sayde vnto the: whether wyll ye that I geve losse vnto you Barrabas or Iesus which is called Christ?
Als die Menge nun versammelt war, fragte Pilatus sie: »Wen soll ich euch freigeben, Barabbas oder Jesus, den man Christus nennt?«
18 For he knewe well that for envie they had delivred him.
Er wußte nämlich wohl, daß sie ihn aus Neid überantwortet hatten.
19 When he was set doune to geve iudgemet his wyfe sent to him sayinge: have thou nothinge to do with that iuste man. For I have suffered many thinges this daye in a dreame about him.
Während er aber auf dem Richterstuhl saß, schickte seine Frau zu ihm und ließ ihm sagen: »Habe du mit diesem Gerechten nichts zu schaffen! Denn ich habe heute nacht im Traum viel um seinetwillen ausgestanden.«
20 But the chefe preestes and the elders had parswaded the people that they shulde axe Barrabas and shulde destroye Iesus.
Die Hohenpriester und Ältesten aber redeten auf das Volk ein, sie möchten sich den Barabbas erbitten, Jesus dagegen hinrichten lassen.
21 Then the debite answered and sayde vnto them: whether of the twayne wyll ye that I let loosse vnto you? And they sayde Barrabas.
Da richtete der Statthalter (nochmals) die Frage an sie: »Wen von den beiden soll ich euch freigeben?« Sie riefen: »Barabbas!«
22 Pilate sayde vnto them: what shall I do then with Iesus which is called Christ? They all sayde to him: let him be crucified.
Pilatus fragte sie weiter: »Was soll ich denn mit Jesus machen, den man Christus nennt?« Sie riefen alle: »Ans Kreuz mit ihm!«
23 Then sayde the debite: what evyll hath he done? And they cryed the more sayinge: let him be crucified.
Der Statthalter entgegnete ihnen: »Was hat er denn Böses getan?« Sie schrien nur noch lauter: »Ans Kreuz mit ihm!«
24 When Pilate sawe that he prevayled nothinge but that moare busines was made he toke water and wasshed his hondes before ye people sayinge: I am innocent of the bloud of this iuste person and that ye shall se.
Als nun Pilatus einsah, daß er nichts erreichte, der Lärm vielmehr immer größer wurde, ließ er sich Wasser reichen, wusch sich vor dem Volk die Hände und sagte: »Ich bin am Blut dieses Gerechten unschuldig; seht ihr zu!«
25 Then answered all the people and sayde: his bloud be on vs and on oure chyldren.
Da antwortete das gesamte Volk mit dem Ruf: »Sein Blut (komme) über uns und über unsere Kinder!«
26 Then let he Barrabas loose vnto them and scourged Iesus and delivered him to be crucified.
Daraufhin gab er ihnen den Barabbas frei, Jesus aber ließ er geißeln und überwies ihn dann (den Soldaten) zur Kreuzigung.
27 Then the soudeours of the debite toke Iesus vnto the comen hall and gaddered vnto him all the company.
Hierauf nahmen die Soldaten des Statthalters Jesus mit sich in die Statthalterei und riefen dort die ganze Kohorte gegen ihn zusammen.
28 And they stripped him and put on him a purpyll roobe
Dann entkleideten sie ihn und legten ihm einen scharlachroten Mantel um,
29 and platted a croune of thornes and put vpon his heed and a rede in his ryght honde: and bowed their knees before him and mocked him saying: hayle kinge of the Iewes:
flochten aus Dornen eine Krone, die sie ihm aufs Haupt setzten, und (gaben) ihm ein Rohr in die rechte Hand; darauf warfen sie sich vor ihm auf die Knie nieder und verhöhnten ihn mit den Worten: »Sei gegrüßt, Judenkönig!«
30 and spitted vpon him and toke the rede and smoote him on the heed.
Auch spien sie ihn an, nahmen das Rohr und schlugen ihn damit aufs Haupt.
31 And when they had mocked him they toke the robe of him ageyne and put his awne reymet on him and leed him awaye to crucify him.
Nachdem sie ihn so verspottet hatten, nahmen sie ihm den Mantel wieder ab und legten ihm seine eigenen Kleider an; dann führten sie ihn zur Kreuzigung ab.
32 And as they came out they fonnde a man of Cyren named Simon: him they compelled to beare his crosse.
Während sie aber (zur Stadt) hinauszogen, trafen sie einen Mann aus Cyrene namens Simon an; diesen zwangen sie, ihm das Kreuz zu tragen.
33 And whe they cam vnto ye place called Golgotha (that is to saye a place of deed mens sculles)
Als sie dann auf einem Platz namens Golgatha, das bedeutet Schädelstätte, angekommen waren,
34 they gave him veneger to drinke mengled with gall. And when he had tasted therof he wolde not drinke.
gaben sie ihm Wein zu trinken, der mit Galle vermischt war; doch als er ihn gekostet hatte, wollte er ihn nicht trinken.
35 When they had crucified him they parted his garmentes and did cast lottes: to fulfyll that was spoken by the prophet. They deuyded my garmetes amonge them: and apon my vesture did cast loottes.
Nachdem sie ihn dann gekreuzigt hatten, verteilten sie seine Kleidungsstücke unter sich, indem sie das Los um sie warfen,
36 And they sate and watched him there.
setzten sich hierauf nieder und bewachten ihn dort.
37 And they set vp over his heed the cause of his deeth written. This is Iesus the kynge of the Iewes.
Über seinem Haupt hatten sie eine Inschrift angebracht, die seine Schuld angeben sollte; sie lautete: »Dieser ist Jesus, der König der Juden.«
38 And ther were two theves crucified with him one on ye right honde and another on the lyfte.
Sodann wurden zwei Räuber mit ihm gekreuzigt, der eine zu seiner Rechten, der andere zu seiner Linken.
39 They that passed by revyled him waggynge ther heeddes
Die Vorübergehenden aber schmähten ihn, wobei sie den Kopf schüttelten
40 and sayinge: Thou that destroyest the temple of God and byldest it in thre dayes save thy sylfe. If thou be ye sonne of God come doune from the crosse.
und ausriefen: »Du wolltest ja den Tempel abbrechen und ihn in drei Tagen wieder aufbauen! Hilf dir nun selbst, wenn du Gottes Sohn bist, und steige vom Kreuz herab!«
41 Lykwyse also the hye prestes mockinge him with the scribes aud elders sayde:
Ebenso verhöhnten ihn auch die Hohenpriester samt den Schriftgelehrten und Ältesten mit den Worten:
42 He saved other him sylfe he can not save. If he be ye kynge of Israel: let him now come doune from the crosse and we will beleve him.
»Anderen hat er geholfen, sich selber kann er nicht helfen! Er ist der König von Israel: so steige er jetzt vom Kreuz herab, dann wollen wir an ihn glauben!
43 He trusted in God let him deliver him now yf he will have him: for he sayde I am the sonne of God.
Er hat auf Gott vertraut: der rette ihn jetzt, wenn er ihm wohlwill! Er hat ja doch behauptet: ›Ich bin Gottes Sohn.‹«
44 That same also the theves which were crucified with him cast in his tethe.
In der gleichen Weise schmähten ihn auch die Räuber, die mit ihm gekreuzigt waren.
45 From the sixte houre was there dercknes over all the londe vnto the nynth houre.
Aber von der sechsten Stunde an trat eine Finsternis über das ganze Land ein bis zur neunten Stunde.
46 And about ye nynth houre Iesus cryed with a loude voyce sayinge: Eli Eli lama asbathani. That is to saye my God my God why hast thou forsaken me?
Um die neunte Stunde aber rief Jesus mit lauter Stimme aus: »Eli, Eli, lema sabachthani?«, das heißt: »Mein Gott, mein Gott, warum hast du mich verlassen?«.
47 Some of them that stode there when they herde that sayde: This man calleth for Helyas.
Als einige von den dort Stehenden dies hörten, sagten sie: »Der ruft den Elia!«
48 And streyght waye one of them ranne and toke a sponge and filled it full of veneger and put it on a rede and gave him to drinke.
Und sogleich lief einer von ihnen hin, nahm einen Schwamm, tränkte ihn mit Essig, steckte ihn an ein Rohr und wollte Jesus trinken lassen.
49 Other sayde let be: let vs se whyther Helyas will come and deliver him.
Die anderen aber sagten: »Laß das! Wir wollen doch sehen, ob Elia wirklich kommt, um ihm zu helfen.«
50 Iesus cryed agayne with a lowde voyce and yelded vp the goost.
Jesus aber stieß noch einmal einen lauten Schrei aus und gab dann seinen Geist auf.
51 And beholde the vayle of the temple dyd rent in twayne from ye toppe to the bottome and the erth dyd quake and the stones dyd rent
Da zerriß der Vorhang im Tempel von oben bis unten in zwei Stücke, die Erde erbebte und die Felsen zersprangen,
52 and graves dyd open: and the bodies of many sainctes which slept arose
die Gräber taten sich auf, und viele Leiber der entschlafenen Heiligen wurden auferweckt,
53 and came out of ye graves after his resurreccion and came into the holy cite and appered vnto many.
kamen nach seiner Auferstehung aus ihren Gräbern hervor, gingen in die heilige Stadt hinein und erschienen vielen.
54 When the Centurion and they that were with him watchinge Iesus sawe ye erth quake and those thinges which hapened they feared greatly sayinge. Of a surete this was the sonne of God.
Als aber der Hauptmann und seine Leute, die Jesus zu bewachen hatten, das Erdbeben und was (sonst noch) geschah, sahen, gerieten sie in große Furcht und sagten: »Dieser ist wirklich Gottes Sohn gewesen!«
55 And many wemen were there beholdinge him a farre of which folowed Iesus fro Galile ministringe vnto him.
Es waren dort aber auch viele Frauen zugegen, die von weitem zuschauten; sie waren Jesus aus Galiläa nachgefolgt und hatten ihm Dienste geleistet.
56 Amonge which was Mary Magdalen and Mary the mother of Iames and Ioses and ye mother of zebedes chyldren.
Unter ihnen befanden sich Maria von Magdala und Maria, die Mutter des Jakobus und des Joseph, und die Mutter der Söhne des Zebedäus.
57 When the even was come there came a ryche man of Aramathia named Ioseph which same also was Iesus disciple.
Als es dann Spätnachmittag geworden war, kam ein reicher Mann von Arimathäa namens Joseph, der gleichfalls ein Jünger Jesu geworden war;
58 He went to Pilate and begged the body of Iesus. Then Pilate commaunded the body to be delivered.
dieser begab sich zu Pilatus und bat ihn um den Leichnam Jesu. Da gab Pilatus den Befehl, man solle ihm den Leichnam übergeben.
59 And Ioseph toke the body and wrapped it in a clene lynnyn clooth
Joseph nahm nun den Leichnam, wickelte ihn in reine Leinwand
60 and put it in his newe tombe which he had hewen out even in the roke and rolled a greate stone to the dore of ye sepulcre and departed.
und legte ihn in das neue Grab, das er für sich selbst im Felsen hatte aushauen lassen; dann wälzte er einen großen Stein vor den Eingang des Grabes und entfernte sich.
61 And there was Mary Magdalene and the other Mary sittynge over ageynste the sepulcre.
Es waren aber dort Maria von Magdala und die andere Maria zugegen; die saßen dem Grabe gegenüber. –
62 The nexte daye that foloweth good frydaye the hye prestes and pharises got them selves to Pilate
Am nächsten Tage aber, der auf den Rüsttag folgte, versammelten sich die Hohenpriester und Pharisäer bei Pilatus
63 and sayde: Syr we remember yt this deceaver sayde whyll he was yet alyve After thre dayes I will aryse agayne.
und sagten: »Herr, es ist uns eingefallen, daß jener Betrüger bei seinen Lebzeiten angekündigt hat: ›Nach drei Tagen werde ich auferweckt.‹
64 Commaunde therfore that the sepulcre be made sure vntyll ye thyrd daye lest paraventure his disciples come and steale him awaye and saye vnto the people he is rysen from deeth and the laste erroure be worsse then the fyrst.
Gib also Befehl, daß das Grab bis zum dritten Tag sicher bewacht wird; sonst könnten seine Jünger kommen, könnten ihn stehlen und dann zum Volke sagen: ›Er ist von den Toten auferweckt worden‹; dann würde der letzte Betrug noch schlimmer sein als der erste.«
65 Pilate sayde vnto them. Take watche men: Go and make it as sure as ye can.
Pilatus antwortete ihnen: »Ihr sollt eine Wachmannschaft haben; geht hin und verwahrt (das Grab) sicher, so gut ihr könnt!«
66 And they went and made the sepulcre sure with watche men and sealed the stone.
Da gingen sie hin und sicherten das Grab unter Hinzuziehung der Wachmannschaft, nachdem sie den Stein versiegelt hatten.
