< Matthew 22 >

1 And Iesus answered and spake vnto them agayne in similitudes sayinge.
AND Jeshu answered again by comparisons, and said,
2 The kingdome of heve is lyke vnto a certayne kynge which maryed his sonne
The kingdom of heaven resembles a royal person who made a feast to his son;
3 and sent forth his servantes to call them that were byd to the weddinge and they wolde not come.
and he sent his servants to call the invited ones to the feast, but they were not willing to come.
4 Ageyne he sent forth other servauntes sayinge: Tell them which are bydden: beholde I have prepared my dynner myne oxen and my fatlinges are kylled and all thinges are redy come vnto the mariage.
And again he sent other servants, and said, Tell the invited ones, Behold, my dinner is prepared, my oxen and my fatlings are killed, and all things are ready; come to the feast.
5 But they made light of it and went their wayes: one to his ferme place another about his marchaundise
But they despised (it), and went, one to his domain, and another to his business.
6 the remnaunt toke his seruantes and intreated them vngodly and slewe them.
But the rest took his servants and shamefully treated and killed (them).
7 When the kinge hearde that he was wroth and send forth his warryers and distroyed those murtherers and brent vp their cyte.
But when the king heard, he was wroth; and sent his forces and destroyed those murderers, and burned their city.
8 Then sayde he to his servauutes: the weddinge was prepared. But they which were bydden were not worthy.
Then said he to his servants, The feast is prepared, and those who were invited were not worthy.
9 Go ye therfore out into ye hyewayes and as many as ye finde byd them to the mariage.
Go therefore into the outlets of the highways, and every one whom you find call to the feast.
10 The seruauntes wet out into the hiewayes and gaddered to gedder as many as they coulde fynde both good and bad and ye weddinge was furnysshed with gestes.
And those servants went forth into the highways, and assembled all whom they found, the bad and the good; and the place of feasting was filled with guests,
11 Then the kynge came in to viset the gestes and spyed there a ma which had not on a weddinge garment
And the king entered to see the guests, and he saw there a man who was not dressed in the garments of a festival.
12 and sayde vnto him: frende how fortuned it that thou camest in hither and hast not on a weddyng garment? And he was eve spechlesse.
And he said to him, My friend, how didst thou enter here, when thou hast not the vestments of the feast? But he was silent.
13 Then sayde the kynge to his ministers: take and bynde hym hand and fote and caste hym into vtter darcknes there shalbe wepinge and gnasshinge of teth.
Then said the king unto the servitors, Bind his hands and his feet, and cast him forth into the darknesses without: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.
14 For many are called and feawe be chosen.
For many are the called, but few the chosen.
15 Then wet the Pharises and toke counsell how they might tagle him in his wordes.
THEN went the Pharishee and took counsel how they might ensnare him in discourse.
16 And they sent vnto him their disciples with Herodes servauntes sayinge: Master we knowe yt thou are true and teachest the waye of god trulie nether carest for eny man for thou consydrest not menes estate.
And they sent to him their disciples with (certain) of the household of Herodes, saying to him, Doctor, we know that thou art resolutely true, and (that) the way of Aloha in truth thou teachest; neither carriest thou fear for man, for thou acceptest not the person of men.
17 Tell vs therfore: how thynkest thou? Is it lawfull to geve tribute vnto Cesar or not?
Tell us then, how doth it appear to thee? is it lawful to give head-money unto Cesar or not?
18 Iesus perceaved their wikednes and sayde: Why tempte ye me ye ypocrites?
But Jeshu knew their malice, and said, Why do you tempt me, you hypocrites?
19 Let me se ye tribute money. And they toke hym a peny.
Show me the denarius of the head-silver. And they presented to him a denarius.
20 And he sayde vnto them: whose is this ymage and superscripcion?
And Jeshu said to them, Whose are this image and inscription?
21 They sayde vnto him: Cesars. Then sayde he vnto them. Geve therfore to Cesar that which is Cesars: and geve vnto god that which is goddes.
They say, Cesar's. He saith to them, Give then (the things) of Cesar unto Cesar, and (the things) of Aloha unto Aloha.
22 When they hearde that they marveled and lefte hym and went there waye.
And when they heard, they wondered, and left him, and went.
23 The same daye the Saduces came to him (which saye that there is no resurrcecion) and axed him
IN that (same) day came the Zadukoyee, affirming to him, (that) there is no life for the dead. And they questioned him,
24 sayinge: Master Moses bade yf a man dye havinge no chyldre that the brother mary his wyfe and reyse vp seed vnto his brother.
saying to him, Doctor, Musha has said to us that if a man die having no children, his brother shall take his wife and raise up seed unto his brother.
25 Ther were wt vs seven brethre and the fyrste maried and deceased wt oute yssue and lefte his wyfe vnto his brother.
But there were with us seven brethren: the eldest (of whom) took a wife, and died. And because he had no children, he left his wife unto his brother.
26 Lykewise the seconde and ye thryd vnto the sevethe.
So also did he who was second, and he who was the third, and unto the seventh of them.
27 Laste of all the woman dyed also.
But the last of all the woman also is dead.
28 Now in the resurreccion whose wyfe shall she be of the seven? For all had her.
In the resurrection, therefore, of whom from these seven shall she be the wife? for all had taken her.
29 Iesus answered and sayde vnto the: ye are deceaved and vnderstonde not the scriptures nor yet the power of God.
Jeshu answered and said to them, You do err, because you understand not the scriptures nor the power of Aloha.
30 For in the resurreccion they nether mary nor are maryed: but are as the angels of God in heven.
For in the resurrection of the dead, they take not wives, neither are wives to husbands; but as the angels of Aloha in heaven are they.
31 As touchynge the resurreccion of the deed: have ye not redde what is sayde vnto you of God which sayeth:
But concerning the resurrection of the dead, have you not read that which has been spoken to you by Aloha, who said,
32 I am Abrahams God and Ysaacks God and the God of Iacob? God is not the God of the deed: but of the lyvinge.
I am the God of Abraham, the God of Is'hok, the God of Jakub? But Aloha is not of those who are dead, but of those who are alive.
33 And when the people hearde that they were astonyed at his doctrine.
And when the multitudes heard, they were wonder-struck at his doctrine.
34 When the Pharises had hearde how yt he had put the Saduces to silence they drewe to gedder
BUT when the Pharishee heard that he had silenced the Zadukoyee, they gathered together.
35 and one of them which was a doctoure of lawe axed a question teptinge h m and sayinge:
And one from them, who was skilful in the law, questioned him, tempting him,
36 Master which is ye chefe comaundment in the lawe?
Doctor, which commandment is greatest in the law?
37 Iesus sayde vnto him: love the Lorde thy God wt all thine herte with all thy soule and with all thy mynde.
Jeshu said to him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy Aloha with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy strength, and with all thy mind.
38 This is the fyrst and the chefe comaundement.
This is the commandment, the great and the first.
39 And ther is another lyke vnto this. Love thyne neghbour as thy selfe.
And the second is like unto it, That thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
40 In these two commaundemetes hange all the lawe and the Prophetes.
On these two commandments hang the law and the prophets.
41 Whyll the Pharises were gaddered togeder Iesus axed
while the Pharishee were gathered together, Jeshu questioned them,
42 the sayinge: what thinke ye of Christ? Whose sonne is he? They sayde vnto him: the sonne of David.
and said, What say you concerning the Meshicha, -whose son? They say to him, Son of David.
43 He sayde vnto the: how then doeth David in spirite call him Lorde sayinge?
Saith he to them, And how doth David in spirit call him THE LORD? For he said,
44 The Lorde sayde to my Lorde syt on my right honde: tyll I make thyne enemyes thy fote stole.
that the Lord said unto my Lord, Sit thou at my right hand until I put thine adversaries beneath thy feet.
45 Yf David call him Lorde: how is he then his sonne?
If, then, David calleth him the Lord, how is he his son?
46 And none coulde answere him ageyne one worde: nether dueste eny from that daye forth axe him eny moo questions.
And no man could give to him the answer; nor did any man dare again from that day to question him.
