< John 4 >
1 Assone as the Lorde had knowledge how the Pharises had hearde that Iesus made and baptised moo disciples then Iohn
When therefore knew (Jesus *N(K)O*) that heard the Pharisees that Jesus more disciples makes and baptizes than John
2 (though that Iesus him selfe baptised not: but his disciples)
and certainly indeed and certainly indeed and certainly indeed Jesus Himself not was baptizing but the disciples of Him
3 he lefte Iewry and departed agayne into Galile.
He left Judea and went away again into Galilee.
4 And it was so that he must nedes goo thorowe Samaria.
It was necessary for now Him to pass through Samaria.
5 Then came he to a cyte of Samaria called Sichar besydes the possession that Iacob gave to his sonne Ioseph.
He comes therefore to a city of Samaria being named Sychar, nearby the plot of ground that gave Jacob (*no*) to Joseph the son of him;
6 And there was Iacobs well. Iesus then weryed in his iorney sate thus on the well. And it was about the sixte houre:
Was now there [the] well of Jacob. Therefore Jesus already wearying from the journey was sitting thus at the well; [The] hour was (about *N(k)O*) [the] sixth.
7 and there came a woman of Samaria to drawe water. And Iesus sayde vnto her: geve me drynke.
Comes a woman out of Samaria to draw water. Says to her Jesus; do give Me to drink.
8 For his disciples were gone awaye vnto the toune to bye meate.
For the disciples of Him had gone away into the city that food they may buy.
9 Then sayde the woman of Samaria vnto him: how is it that thou beinge a Iewe axest drinke of me which am a Samaritane? for the Iewes medle not with the Samaritans.
Says therefore to Him the woman Samaritan; How You yourself a Jew being from me to drink you do ask a woman Samaritan being? Not for have association Jews with Samaritans.
10 Iesus answered and sayde vnto hir: yf thou knewest the gyfte of God and who it is that sayeth to the geve me drynke thou woldest have axed of him and he wolde have geven the water of lyfe.
Answered Jesus and said to her; If you had known the gift of God and who it is who is saying to you; do give Me to drink, you yourself then would you have asked Him and He gave maybe to you water living.
11 The woman sayde vnto him. Syr thou hast no thinge to drawe with and the well is depe: from whence then hast thou yt water of lyfe?
Says to Him the woman: Sir, nothing to draw with You have, and the well is deep; from where then have You the water which is living?
12 Arte thou greater then oure father Iacob which gave vs the well and he him silfe dranke therof and his chyldren and his catell?
Not You yourself greater are [than] the father of us Jacob, who gave us the well, and himself of it drank and the sons of him and the livestock of him?
13 Iesus answered and sayde vnto hir: whosoever drinketh of this water shall thurst agayne.
Answered (*k*) Jesus and said to her; Everyone who is drinking of water this will thirst again.
14 But whosoever shall drinke of ye water yt I shall geve him shall never be more a thyrst: but the water that I shall geve him shalbe in him a well of water springinge vp in to everlastinge lyfe. (aiōn , aiōnios )
who[ever] however maybe may drink of the water that I myself will give to him, certainly not (will thirst *N(k)O*) to the age, Instead the water that I will give to him it will become in him a spring of water welling up into life eternal. (aiōn , aiōnios )
15 The woma sayd vnto him: Syr geve me of that water that I thyrst not nether come hedder to drawe.
Says to Him the woman; Sir, do give me this water that not I may thirst nor (I may come *N(k)(o)*) here to draw.
16 Iesus sayde vnto her. Go and call thy husband and come hydder.
He says to her (*ko*) (Jesus: *KO*) do go do call the husband of you and do come here.
17 The woman answered and sayde to him: I have no husband.
Answered the woman and said (to Him: *no*) Not I have a husband. Says to her Jesus; Correctly you have spoken that A husband not I have;
18 Iesus sayde to her. Thou hast well sayd I have no husbande. For thou haste had five husbandes and he whom thou now hast is not thy husband. That saydest thou truely.
Five for husbands you have had, and now he whom you have not is your husband; this truly you have spoken.
19 The woman sayde vnto him: Syr I perceave yt thou arte a prophet.
Says to Him the woman; Sir, I understand that a prophet are You yourself.
20 Oure fathers worshipped in this mountayne: and ye saye that in Hierusalem is the place where men ought to worshippe.
The fathers of us on mountain this worshiped, and you yourselves say that in Jerusalem is the place where to worship it is necessary.
21 Iesus sayde vnto her: woman beleve me the houre cometh when ye shall nether in this moutayne nor yet at Ierusalem worshippe the father.
Says to her Jesus; (do believe *N(k)O*) Me, woman, that is coming an hour when neither [you will worship] on mountain this nor in Jerusalem will you worship the Father.
22 Ye worshippe ye wot not what: we knowe what we worshippe. For salvacion cometh of the Iewes.
You yourselves worship what not you know, we ourselves worship what we know, for salvation of the Jews is.
23 But the houre commeth and nowe is when the true worshippers shall worshippe the father in sprete and in trouthe. For verely suche the father requyreth to worshippe him.
But is coming an hour and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; also for the Father such seeks who worship Him.
24 God is a sprete and they that worshippe him must worshippe him in sprete and trouthe.
Spirit God [is], and those worshiping Him in spirit and truth it behooves to worship.
25 The woman sayde vnto him: I wot well Messias shall come which is called Christ. When he is come he will tell vs all thinges.
Says to Him the woman; I know that Messiah is coming, who is called Christ, when may come He, He will tell us (all things. *N(k)O*)
26 Iesus sayde vnto hir: I that speake vnto the am he.
Says to her Jesus; I myself am [He], who is speaking to you.
27 And eve at that poynte came his disciples and marvelled that he talked with the woman. Yet no man sayde vnto him: what meanest thou or why talkest thou with her?
And upon this came the disciples of Him and (were amazed *N(k)O*) that with a woman He was speaking; no [one] however said; What seek You? Or Why speak You with her?
28 The woma then lefte her waterpot and went her waye into the cite and sayde to the men.
Left then the water pot of her the woman and went away into the city and says to the men;
29 Come se a man which tolde me all thinges yt ever I dyd. Is not he Christ?
Come, do see a man who told me all things (as much as *NK(o)*) I did; surely not ever this is the Christ?
30 Then they went ont of the cite and came vnto him.
They went forth (therefore *K*) out of the city and were coming unto Him.
31 And in ye meane while his disciples prayed him sayinge: Master eate.
But in (now *k*) the meantime were asking Him the disciples saying; Rabbi, do eat.
32 He sayde vnto the: I have meate to eate that ye knowe not of.
But He said to them; I myself food have to eat that you yourselves not know.
33 Then sayd ye disciples bitwene them selves: hath eny ma brought him meate?
Were saying therefore the disciples to one another; Surely not one did bring to Him [something] to eat?
34 Iesus sayde vnto them: my meate is to doo the will of him that sent me. And to fynnysshe his worke.
Says to them Jesus; My own food is that (I may do *N(k)O*) the will of the [One who] having sent Me and may finish of Him the work.
35 Saye not ye: there are yet foure monethes and then cometh harvest? Beholde I saye vnto you lyfte vp youre eyes and loke on ye regios: for they are whyte all redy vnto harvest.
Surely you yourselves say that yet (four months *N(k)O*) it is and the harvest comes? Behold I say to you; do lift up the eyes of you and do see the fields because white they are toward harvest already!
36 And he ye repeth receaveth rewarde and gaddereth frute vnto life eternall: that bothe he that soweth and he yt repeth myght reioyse to gether. (aiōnios )
(and *k*) the [one] reaping a reward receives and he gathers fruit unto life eternal, so that (both *k*) who is sowing together may rejoice and who is reaping. (aiōnios )
37 And herin is the sayinge true yt one soweth and another repeth.
In for this the saying is (*k*) true that One is who is sowing and another [is] the [one] who is reaping.
38 I sent you to repe yt whero ye bestowed no laboure. Other men laboured and ye are entred into their labours.
I myself sent you to reap what not you yourselves have toiled for; others have toiled, and you yourselves into the labor of them have entered.
39 Many of the Samaritas of that cyte beleved on him for ye sayinge of the woma which testified: he tolde me all thinges yt ever I dyd.
Out of now the city that many believed in Him of the Samaritans because of the word of the woman testifying that He told me all things (whatever *N(k)O*) I did.
40 Then when the Samaritas were come vnto him they besought him yt he wolde tary wt the. And he aboode there two dayes.
When therefore came to Him the Samaritans, they were asking Him to abide with them. and He stayed there two days.
41 And many moo beleved because of his awne wordes
And many more believed because of the word of Him,
42 and sayd vnto the woman: Now we beleve not because of thy sayinge. For we have herde him oure selves and knowe that this is even in dede Christ the savioure of the worlde.
and to the woman they were saying that no longer no longer because of your speech we believe; we ourselves for have heard and we know that this is truly the Savior of the world (the Christ. *K*)
43 After two dayes he departed thence and wet awaye into Galile.
After then the two days He went forth from there (and went away *K*) into Galilee.
44 And Iesus him selfe testified that a Prophete hath none honoure in his awne countre.
Himself for (*k*) Jesus testified that a prophet in the own hometown honor not has.
45 Then assone as he was come into Galile the Galileans receaved him which had sene all the thinges yt he dyd at Ierusalem at ye feast. For they wet also vnto ye feast daye.
When therefore He came into Galilee, received Him the Galileans all things having seen (how much *N(k)O*) He had done in Jerusalem during the feast; also themselves for they had gone to the feast.
46 And Iesus came agayne into Cana of Galile wher he turned water into wyne. And ther was a certayne ruler whose sonne was sicke at Capernaum.
He came therefore (Jesus *k*) again to Cana of Galilee, where He had made the water wine. And there was a certain royal official whose son was sick in Capernaum.
47 Assone as the same herde that Iesus was come out of Iewry into Galile he wet vnto him and besought him yt he wolde descende and heale his sonne: For he was eve readie to dye.
He having heard that Jesus had come out of Judea into Galilee, went to Him and was asking (him *k*) that He may come down and He may heal his son; he was about for to die.
48 Then sayde Iesus vnto him: excepte ye se signes and wodres ye canot beleve.
Said therefore Jesus to him; only unless signs and wonders you [people] may see, certainly not shall you believe.
49 The ruler sayd vnto him: Syr come awaye or ever yt my chylde dye.
Says to Him the royal official; Sir, do come down before to die the child of mine.
50 Iesus sayde vnto him goo thy waye thy sonne liveth. And the ma beleved ye wordes yt Iesus had spoke vnto him and wet his waye.
Says to him Jesus; do go, the son of you lives. (and *k*) Believed the man in the word (that *N(k)O*) said to him Jesus, and he was going.
51 And anone as he went on his waye his servantes met him and tolde him sayinge: thy chylde liveth.
Already then when he is going down the servants of him (met *N(k)O*) with him (and reported *ko*) saying that the boy (of him *N(K)O*) lives.
52 Then enquyred he of the the houre when he begane to amende. And they sayde vnto him: Yester daye the sevethe houre the fever lefte him.
He inquired therefore the hour from them in which better he got. (and *k*) They said (therefore *NO*) to him that Yesterday at hour seventh left him the fever.
53 And the father knew that it was the same houre in which Iesus sayde vnto him: Thy sonne liveth. And he beleved and all his housholde.
Knew therefore the father that [it was] in that [very] hour at which said to him Jesus (that: *k*) The son of You lives. And he believed himself and the household of him all.
54 Thys is agayne the seconde myracle yt Iesus dyd after he was come oute of Iewry into Galile.
This [is] (now *no*) again [the] second sign did Jesus having come out of Judea into Galilee.
