John 21
1 After that Iesus shewed him selfe agayne at the see of Tyberias. And on this wyse shewed he him selfe.
Danach offenbarte Jesus sich seinen Jüngern noch einmal am See von Tiberias, und zwar offenbarte er sich auf folgende Weise:
2 There were to geder Simon Peter and Thomas which is called Didymus: and Nathanael of Cana a citie of Galile and the sonnes of Zebedei and two other of the disciples.
Es waren beisammen Simon Petrus und Thomas, der den Namen ›Zwilling‹ führt, Nathanael aus Kana in Galiläa, die (beiden) Söhne des Zebedäus und noch zwei andere aus der Zahl seiner Jünger.
3 Simon Peter sayde vnto them: I goo a fysshynge. They sayde vnto him: we also will goo with the. They wet their waye and entred into a shippe strayght waye and that nyght caught they nothinge.
Da sagte Simon Petrus zu ihnen: »Ich gehe hin und fische!« Sie erwiderten ihm: »Dann gehen auch wir mit dir!« So gingen sie denn hinaus und stiegen in das Boot, fingen aber in jener Nacht nichts.
4 But when the mornynge was now come Iesus stode on the shore: neverthelesse the disciples knewe not yt it was Iesus.
Als es bereits gegen Morgen war, stand Jesus am Ufer; die Jünger wußten jedoch nicht, daß es Jesus war.
5 Iesus sayde vnto the: syrs have ye eny meate? They answered him no.
Da rief Jesus ihnen zu: »Kinder, habt ihr nicht etwas (Fisch) als Zukost?« Sie antworteten ihm: »Nein.«
6 And he sayde vnto them: cast out ye net on the ryght syde of the ship and ye shall fynde. They cast out and anone they were not able to drawe it for ye multitude of fysshes
Nun sagte er zu ihnen: »Werft das Netz nach der rechten Seite des Bootes aus, so werdet ihr einen Fang tun!« Da warfen sie es aus und konnten es vor der Menge der Fische nicht mehr (aus dem Wasser) herausziehen.
7 Then sayde the disciple whom Iesus loved vnto Peter: It is the Lorde. When Simon Peter hearde that it was ye lorde he gyrde his mantell to him (for he was naked) and sprange into the see
Da sagte jener Jünger, den Jesus (besonders) lieb hatte, zu Petrus: »Es ist der Herr!« Als nun Simon Petrus hörte, daß es der Herr sei, gürtete er sich sein Obergewand um – er hatte nämlich nur ein Unterkleid angehabt – und sprang in den See;
8 The other disciples came by ship: for they were not farre from londe but as it were two hondred cubites and they drewe the net with fysshes.
die anderen Jünger aber kamen mit dem Boote hinter ihm her – sie waren nämlich nicht weit vom Lande, sondern nur in einer Entfernung von etwa zweihundert Ellen – und zogen das Netz mit den Fischen hinter sich her.
9 Assone as they were come to londe they sawe hoot coles and fysshe layd ther on and breed.
Als sie dann ans Land ausgestiegen waren, sahen sie ein Kohlenfeuer (am Boden) hergerichtet und Fische darauf gelegt und Brot (daneben).
10 Iesus sayde vnto them: bringe of the fysshe which ye have now caught.
Jesus sagte zu ihnen: »Bringt noch einige von den Fischen her, die ihr soeben gefangen habt!«
11 Simon Peter stepped forthe and drewe the net to londe full of greate fysshes an hondred and. liii. And for all ther were so many yet was not the net broken.
Da stieg Simon Petrus (in das Boot) hinein und zog das Netz ans Land, das mit hundertunddreiundfünfzig großen Fischen gefüllt war und trotz dieser großen Zahl nicht zerriß.
12 Iesus sayde vnto them: come and dyne. And none of the disciples durste axe him: what arte thou? For they knewe that it was the lorde.
Nun sagte Jesus zu ihnen: »Kommt her und haltet das Frühmahl!« Keiner aber von den Jüngern wagte die Frage an ihn zu richten: »Wer bist du?« Sie wußten ja, daß es der Herr war.
13 Iesus then came and toke breed and gave them and fysshe lykwyse
Jesus trat nun hin, nahm das Brot und gab es ihnen, ebenso auch die Fische.
14 And this is now the thyrde tyme that Iesus appered to his disciples after that he was rysen agayne from deeth.
Dies war nun schon das dritte Mal, daß Jesus sich nach seiner Auferstehung von den Toten seinen Jüngern offenbarte.
15 When they had dyned Iesus sayde to Simon Peter: Simon Ioana lovest thou me more then these? He sayde vnto him: ye Lorde thou knowest that I love the. He sayde vnto him: fede my lambes.
Als sie nun das Frühmahl gehalten hatten, sagte Jesus zu Simon Petrus: »Simon, Sohn des Johannes, liebst du mich mehr als diese?« Er antwortete ihm: »Ja, Herr, du weißt, daß ich dich lieb habe.« Da sagte er zu ihm: »Weide meine Lämmer!«
16 He sayde to him agayne the seconde tyme: Simo Ioana lovest thou me? He sayde vnto him: ye lorde thou knowest that I love ye. He sayde vnto him: fede my shepe.
Darauf fragte ihn Jesus zum zweitenmal: »Simon, Sohn des Johannes, liebst du mich?« Er antwortete ihm: »Ja, Herr, du weißt, daß ich dich lieb habe.« Da sagte Jesus zu ihm: »Hüte meine Schafe!«
17 He sayde vnto him ye thyrde tyme: Simon Ioanna lovest thou me? And Peter sorowed because he sayde to him ye thyrde tyme lovest thou me and sayde vnto him: Lorde thou knowest all thinge thou knowest that I love the. Iesus sayde vnto him: fede my shepe.
Zum drittenmal fragte er ihn: »Simon, Sohn des Johannes, hast du mich lieb?« Da wurde Petrus betrübt, weil er ihn zum drittenmal fragte: »Hast du mich lieb?«, und er antwortete ihm: »Herr, du weißt alles; du weißt auch, daß ich dich lieb habe.« Da sagte Jesus zu ihm: »Weide meine Schafe!
18 Verely verely I saye vnto the when thou wast yonge thou gerdedst thy selfe and walkedst whyther thou woldest: but when thou arte olde thou shalt stretche forthe thy hondes and a nother shall gyrde ye and leade the whyther thou woldest not.
Wahrlich, wahrlich ich sage dir: Als du noch jünger warst, hast du dir dein Gewand selbst gegürtet und bist umhergegangen, wohin du wolltest; wenn du aber alt geworden bist, wirst du deine Arme ausstrecken, und ein anderer wird dich gürten und dich an eine Stätte führen, wohin du nicht willst.«
19 That spake he signifyinge by what deeth he shuld glorify God. And whe he had sayde thus he sayd to him folowe me.
Dies sagte er aber, um anzudeuten, durch was für eine Todesart Petrus Gott verherrlichen würde. Nach diesen Worten sagte er zu ihm: »Folge mir nach!«
20 Peter turned about and sawe that disciple who Iesus loved folowynge: which also lened on his brest at supper and sayde: Lorde which is he yt shall betraye the?
Als Petrus sich dann umwandte, sah er den Jünger, den Jesus (besonders) liebhatte, hinter ihnen herkommen, denselben, der sich auch beim Abendmahl an seine Brust gelehnt und gefragt hatte: »Herr, wer ist’s, der dich verrät?«
21 When Peter sawe him he sayde to Iesus: Lorde what shall he here do?
Als nun Petrus diesen sah, fragte er Jesus: »Herr, was wird aber mit diesem werden?«
22 Iesus sayd vnto him Yf I will have him to tary tyll I come what is that to the? folowe thou me.
Jesus antwortete ihm: »Wenn es mein Wille ist, daß er bis zu meinem Kommen (am Leben) bleibt, was geht das dich an? Folge du mir nach!«
23 Then went this sayinge a broode amonge the brethren that that disciple shulde not dye. Yet Iesus sayde not to him he shall not dye: but yf I will that he tary tyll I come what is that to the?
So verbreitete sich denn diese Rede unter den Brüdern: »Jener Jünger stirbt nicht.« Aber Jesus hatte zu ihm nicht gesagt: »Er stirbt nicht«, sondern: »Wenn es mein Wille ist, daß er bis zu meinem Kommen (am Leben) bleibt, was geht das dich an?«
24 The same disciple is he which testifieth of these thinges and wrote these thinges. And we knowe that his testimony is true.
Dies ist der Jünger, der von diesen Dingen Zeugnis ablegt und auch diese Schrift verfaßt hat, und wir wissen, daß sein Zeugnis wahr ist.
25 There are also many other thinges which Iesus dyd: the which yf they shuld be written every won I suppose the worlde coulde not cotayne the bokes that shuld be written.
Es gibt aber noch vieles andere, was Jesus getan hat; wollte man das alles im einzelnen aufschreiben, so würde nach meiner Überzeugung die Welt die Bücher nicht fassen, die dann zu schreiben wären.
