< Genesis 44 >

1 And he commaunded the rueler of his house saynge: fyll the mens sackes with food as moch as they can carie
Alò, li te pase lòd a chèf domestik la e te di: “Ranpli sak yo avèk manje, tout sa ke yo kapab pote, e mete kòb a chak moun nan bouch sak li.
2 and put euery mans money in his bagge mouth and put my syluer cuppe in the sackes mouth of the yongest and his corne money also. And he dyd as Ioseph had sayde.
Plase tas mwen an, tas fèt an ajan an nan bouch sak pi jenn nan, ansanm ak kòb li pou sereyal la.” Epi sa te fèt jan Joseph te mande a.
3 And in ye mornynge as soone as it was lighte the me were let goo with their asses.
Depi li te fè klè, mesye yo te voye ale, yo menm avèk bourik yo.
4 And when they were out of the cytie and not yet ferre awaye Ioseph sayde vnto the ruelar of his house: vp and folowe after the men and ouertake them and saye vnto them: wherefore haue ye rewarded euell for good?
Yo te fenk kite vil la, e yo pa t byen lwen lè Joseph te di a chèf domestik li a: “Leve, swiv mesye sa yo. Lè nou rive sou yo, di yo konsa: ‘Poukisa nou rekonpanse mal pou byen?
5 is that not the cuppe of which my lorde drynketh ad doth he not prophesie therin? ye haue euell done that ye haue done.
Èske tas sa a se pa sila ke mèt mwen an bwè ladann, e sèvi pou divinasyon an? Nou te fè mal lè nou te fè sa.’”
6 And he ouertoke them and sayde the same wordes vnto them.
Alò, li te rive sou yo, e li te pale pawòl sa ak yo.
7 And they answered him: wherfore sayth my lorde soch wordes? God forbydd that thy servauntes shulde doo so.
Yo te di li: “Poukisa mèt mwen an pale kalite pawòl sila yo? Sa lwen mwen pou m ta fè yon bagay konsa.
8 Beholde the money which we founde in oure sackes mouthes we brought agayne vnto the out of the lande of Canaa: how then shulde we steale out of my lordes house ether syluer or golde?
Gade byen, lajan ke nou te twouve nan bouch sak nou yo, nou te pote yo bannou soti nan peyi Canaan. Alò, kijan nou ta ka vòlè lò, oswa lajan lakay mèt la?
9 with whosoeuer of thy seruauntes it be founde let him dye and let vs also be my lordes bondmen.
Avèk nenpòt kilès nan sèvitè nou yo ke nou ta twouve l, ke li mouri, e nou osi, nou va devni esklav a mèt nou.”
10 And he sayde: Now therfore acordynge vnto youre woordes he with whom it is found shalbe my seruaunte: but ye shalbe harmelesse.
Alò, li te di: “Konsa kite sa fèt tankou pawòl ou; sila avèk kilès li twouve l la, li va devni esklav mwen, e tout rès nan nou va rete inosan.”
11 And attonce euery man toke downe his sacke to the grounde ad every man opened his sacke.
Alò, byen prese, chak moun te desann sak li atè, pou te ouvri sak li.
12 And he serched and began at the eldest and left at the yongest. And the cuppe was founde in Ben Iamins sacke.
Li te fè ankèt, kòmanse avèk pi gran, fini avèk pi jenn nan, e tas la te twouve nan sak Benjamin an.
13 Then they rent their clothes and laded euery man his asse and went agayne vnto the cytie.
Konsa, yo te chire rad yo, e lè chak moun te fin chaje bèt li, yo te retounen nan vil la.
14 And Iuda and his brethre came to Iosephs house for he was yet there ad they fell before him on the grounde.
Lè Juda avèk frè li yo te vini lakay Joseph, li te toujou la, e yo te tonbe atè devan li.
15 And Ioseph sayde vnto the: what dede is this which ye haue done? wist ye not that soch a man as I can prophesie?
Joseph te di yo: “Ki zak sa ke nou te fè la a? Èske nou pa konnen ke yon nonm tankou mwen kapab vrèman pratike divinasyon?”
16 Then sayde Iuda: what shall we saye vnto my lorde what shall we speake or what excuse can we make? God hath founde out ye wekednesse of thy seruauntes. Beholde both we and he with whom the cuppe is founde are thy seruauntes.
Konsa, Juda te di: “Kisa nou kapab di a mèt nou? Kisa nou kapab pale? Kijan nou kapab jistifye pwòp tèt nou? Bondye te twouve inikite nan sèvitè ou yo. Gade byen, nou se esklav a mèt nou, ni nou, men osi sila ki te posede tas nou te twouve a.”
17 And he answered: God forbyd ye I shulde do so the man with whom the cuppe is founde he shalbe my seruaunte: but goo ye in peace vn to youre father.
Men li te di yo: “Kite sa byen lwen pou m fè sa. Mesye sou sila nou te twouve tas la, li va esklav mwen. Men pou nou, ale anpè vè papa nou.”
18 Then Iuda went vnto him and sayde: oh my lorde let thy servaunte speake a worde in my lordes audyence and be not wrooth with thi servaunte: for thou art euen as Pharao.
Alò, Juda te pwoche li. Li te di: “O mèt mwen, silvouplè, èske sèvitè ou kapab pale yon mo nan zòrèy a mèt la, e li p ap vin fache avèk sèvitè ou a; paske ou menm jan avèk Farawon.
19 My lorde axed his seruaunte sainge: haue ye a father or a brother?
Mèt mwen an te mande sèvitè li yo, e te di: ‘Èske nou genyen yon papa, oswa yon frè?’
20 And we answered my lord we haue a father that is old and a yonge lad which he begat in his age: ad the brother of the sayde lad is dead and he is all that is left of that mother. And his father loueth him.
Nou te di a mèt mwen: ‘Nou gen yon papa ki granmoun, ak yon timoun li te fè nan vyeyès li. Alò, frè li a gen tan mouri, li sèl ki rete kòm pitit a manman l, e papa li renmen li.’
21 Then sayde my lorde vnto his seruauntes brynge him vnto me that I maye sett myne eyes apon him.
“Konsa, ou te di sèvitè ou yo: ‘Mennen fè l desann pou m kapab fikse zye m sou li.’
22 And we answered my lorde that the lad coude not goo from his father for if he shulde leaue his father he were but a deed man.
“Men nou te di a mèt nou: ‘Jènjan an pa kapab kite papa l; papa l ta mouri.’
23 Than saydest thou vnto thy servauntes: excepte youre yongest brother come with you loke that ye se my face no moare.
“Malgre sa, ou te di a sèvitè ou yo: ‘Amwens ke pi jenn nan vin desann avèk nou, nou p ap wè figi m ankò.’
24 And when we came vnto thy servaunt oure father we shewed him what my lorde had sayde.
“Se te konsa li te rive ke lè nou te monte vè sèvitè ou, papa m, ke nou te pale li pawòl a mèt nou an.
25 And when oure father sayde vnto vs goo agayne and bye vs a litle fode:
Papa nou te di nou: ‘Retounen achte yon ti manje.’
26 we sayd yt we coude not goo. Neverthelesse if oure youngeste brother go with vs then will we goo for we maye not see the mannes face excepte oure yongest brother be with vs.
Men nou te di: ‘Nou pa kapab desann. Si pi jenn frè nou an avèk nou, nou va desann. Paske nou pa kapab wè figi a nonm nan ankò, sof ke pi jenn frè nou an avèk nou.’
27 Then sayde thy servaunt oure father vnto vs. Ye knowe that my wyfe bare me. ij. sonnes.
“Sèvitè ou, papa m, te di nou: ‘Ou konnen ke madanm mwen te fè de fis pou mwen.
28 And the one went out from me and it is sayde of a suertie that he is torne in peaces of wyld beastes and I sawe him not sence.
Youn nan yo te sòti kite mwen, e mwen te di: “Asireman li te chire an mòso”, e mwen pa wè li depi lè sa.
29 Yf ye shall take this also awaye fro me and some mysfortune happen apon him then shall ye brynge my gray heed with sorow vnto the grave. (Sheol h7585)
Si ou pran sila a osi de mwen, e si malè rive li, nou va mennen cheve tèt blanch sa a anba nan sejou mò yo avèk tristès.’ (Sheol h7585)
30 Now therfore whe I come to thy servaunt my father yf the lad be not with me: seinge that his lyfe hageth by the laddes lyfe
“Alò, pou sa, lè mwen rive vè sèvitè ou, papa m, e pou jènjan an pa la avèk nou, paske lavi li mare ansanm avèk lavi jènjan an,
31 then as soone as he seeth that the lad is not come he will dye. So shall we thy servautes brynge the gray hedde of thy servaunt oure father with sorow vnto the grave. (Sheol h7585)
lè li wè ke jènjan an pa avèk nou, l ap mouri. Konsa sèvitè ou yo va mennen cheve blanch a sèvitè ou, papa nou anba nan sejou mò yo avèk tristès. (Sheol h7585)
32 For I thy servaunt became suertie for the lad vnto my father and sayde: yf I bringe him not vnto the agayne. I will bere the blame all my life loge.
Paske sèvitè ou te devni yon sekirite pou jènjan a papa m nan, e mwen te di: ‘Si mwen pa fè l retounen a ou menm, alò, kite m pote koupabilite sa a devan papa m pou tout tan.’
33 Now therfore let me thy servaunt byde here for ye lad and be my lordes bondman: and let the lad goo home with his brethern.
“Alò, pou sa, kite sèvitè ou a rete, olye ke jènjan an, kòm yon esklav a mèt mwen. E kite jènjan an monte avèk frè li yo.
34 For how can I goo vnto my father and the lad not wyth me: lest I shulde see the wretchednes that shall come on my father.
Paske kijan mwen kapab monte vè papa m si jènjan an pa avè m?—paske mwen pè pou m ta wè malè ki vin pran papa m.”
