Genesis 18
1 And the LORde apeared vnto him in the okegrove of Mamre as he sat in his tent doze in the heate of the daye.
Und der HERR erschien ihm bei den Eichen Mamres, da er an der Tür seiner Hütte saß, als der Tag am heißesten war.
2 And he lyfte vp his eyes and looked: ad lo thre men stode not farr from hym. And whe he sawe them he ran agenst them from the tent dore and fell to the grounde
Als er nämlich seine Augen aufhob und sich umsah, siehe, da standen drei Männer ihm gegenüber. Und als er sie sah, eilte er ihnen entgegen von der Türe seiner Hütte, bückte sich zur Erde nieder
3 and sayde: LORde yf I haue founde fauoure in thy syght goo not by thi seruaunte.
und sprach: Mein Herr, habe ich Gnade vor deinen Augen gefunden, so gehe doch nicht an deinem Knechte vorüber!
4 Let a litle water be fett and wash youre fete and rest youre selves vnder the tree:
Man soll ein wenig Wasser bringen, daß ihr eure Füße waschet; und lagert euch unter dem Baum,
5 And I will fett a morsell of breed to comforte youre hartes wythall. And tha goo youre wayes for even therfore ar ye come to youre servaunte. And they answered: Do even so as thou hast sayde.
so will ich einen Bissen Brot bringen, daß ihr euer Herz stärket; darnach mögt ihr weiterziehen, denn darum seid ihr bei eurem Knechte vorbeigekommen. Sie sprachen: Tue also, wie du gesagt hast!
6 And Abraha went a pace in to his tent vnto Sara ad sayde: make redy att once thre peckes of fyne meale kneade it and make cakes.
Und Abraham eilte in die Hütte zu Sarah und sprach: Nimm eilends drei Maß Semmelmehl, knete sie und backe Kuchen!
7 And Abraham ran vnto his beastes and fett a calfe that was tendre and good and gaue it vnto a yonge man which made it redy attonce.
Er aber eilte zu den Rindern und holte ein zartes und gutes Kalb und gab es dem Knaben, der eilte und rüstete es zu.
8 And he toke butter and mylcke and the calfe which he had prepared and sett it before them and stode hymselfe by them vnder the tree: and they ate.
Und er trug Butter und Milch auf und von dem Kalbe, das er gerüstet hatte, und setzte es ihnen vor. Und er stand bei ihnen unter dem Baum; und sie aßen.
9 And they sayde vnto him: Where is Sara thy wife? And he sayde: in the tent.
Da sprachen sie zu ihm: Wo ist dein Weib Sarah? Er antwortete: Drinnen in der Hütte.
10 And he sayde: I will come agayne vnto the as soone as the frute can lyue. And loo: Sara thy wife shall haue a sonne. That herde Sara out of the tent doore which was behind his backe.
Da sprach er: Gewiß will ich um diese Zeit im künftigen Jahre wieder zu dir kommen, und siehe, dein Weib Sarah soll einen Sohn haben! Sarah aber horchte unter der Tür der Hütte, welche hinter ihm war.
11 Abraham and Sara were both olde and well stryken in age and it ceased to be with Sara after the maner as it is wyth wyves.
Und Abraham und Sarah waren alt und wohlbetagt, also daß es Sarah nicht mehr nach der Weiber Weise ging.
12 And Sara laughed in hir selfe saynge: Now I am waxed olde shall I geue my selfe to lust and my lorde olde also?
Darum lachte sie in ihrem Herzen und sprach: Nachdem ich verblüht bin, soll mir noch Wonne zuteil werden! Dazu ist mein Herr ein alter Mann!
13 Than sayd the LORde vnto Abraha: wherfore doth Sara laughe saynge: shal I of a suertie bere a childe now when I am olde?
Da sprach der HERR zu Abraham: Warum lacht Sarah und spricht: «Sollte ich wirklich noch gebären, so alt ich bin?»
14 is the thinge to harde for the LORde to do? In the tyme appoynted will I returne vnto the as soone as the frute can haue lyfe And Sara shall haue a sonne.
Sollte denn dem HERRN etwas zu wunderbar sein? Zur bestimmten Zeit will ich wieder zu dir kommen im künftigen Jahre, und Sarah soll einen Sohn haben!
15 Than Sara denyed it saynge: I laughed not for she was afrayde. But he sayde: yes thou laughtest.
Da leugnete Sarah und sprach: Ich habe nicht gelacht! denn sie fürchtete sich. Er aber sprach: Doch, du hast gelacht!
16 Than the men stode vp from thence ad loked towarde Sodome. And Abraham went with them to brynge them on the waye.
Da brachen die Männer auf und wandten sich gen Sodom. Und Abraham ging mit ihnen, um sie zu begleiten.
17 And the LORde sayde: Can I hyde from Abraham that thinge which I am aboute to do
Da sprach der HERR: Sollte ich Abraham verbergen, was ich tun will,
18 seynge that Abraham shall be a great ad a myghtie people and all the nations of the erth shalbe blessed in him?
da Abraham gewiß ein großes und starkes Volk werden soll, und alle Völker auf Erden in ihm sollen gesegnet werden?
19 For I knowe him that he will commaunde his childern and his housholde after him yt they kepe the waye of the LORde to do after righte and conscyence that the LORde may brynge vppon Abraham that he hath promysed him.
Denn ich habe ihn dafür erkoren, daß er seinen Kindern und seinem Hause nach ihm befehle, des HERRN Weg zu halten und zu tun, was recht und billig ist, damit der HERR auf Abraham bringe, was er ihm verheißen hat.
20 And the LORde sayde? The crie of Sodome and Gomorra is great and there synne is excedynge grevous.
Und der HERR sprach: Das Geschrei über Sodom und Gomorra ist groß, und ihre Sünde ist sehr schwer.
21 I will go downe and see whether they haue done all to gedder acordynge to that crye which is come vnto me or not that I may knowe.
Darum will ich hinabfahren und sehen, ob sie wirklich ganz nach dem Geschrei, das vor mich gekommen ist, getan haben; wo aber nicht, daß ich es wisse.
22 And the me departed thece and went to Sodomeward. But Abraham stode yet before ye LORde
Und die Männer wandten ihr Angesicht und gingen gen Sodom; aber Abraham blieb noch stehen vor dem HERRN.
23 and drewe nere and saydeWylt thou destroy the rightwes with the wyked?
Und Abraham trat näher und sprach: Willst du auch den Gerechten mit dem Gottlosen wegraffen?
24 Yf there be. l. rightwes within the cyte wilt thou destroy it and not spare the place for the sake of. l. rightwes that are therin?
Vielleicht möchten fünfzig Gerechte in der Stadt sein, willst du die wegraffen und den Ort nicht verschonen um fünfzig Gerechter willen, die darinnen wären?
25 That be farre from the that thou shuldest do after thys maner to sley the rightwes with the weked ad that the rightwes shulde be as the weked: that befarre from the. Shulde not the iudge of all ye worlde do acordynge to righte?
Das sei ferne von dir, daß du eine solche Sache tuest und tötest den Gerechten mit dem Gottlosen, daß der Gerechte sei wie der Gottlose. Das sei ferne von dir! Der aller Welt Richter ist, sollte der nicht recht richten?
26 And the LORde sayde: Yf I fynde in Sodome. l. rightwes within the cyte I will spare all the place for their sakes.
Der HERR sprach: Finde ich fünfzig Gerechte zu Sodom in der Stadt, so will ich um ihretwillen den ganzen Ort verschonen!
27 And Abraham answered and sayde: beholde I haue taken vppon me to speake vnto ye LORde ad yet am but dust ad asshes.
Und Abraham antwortete und sprach: Ach siehe, ich habe mich unterwunden, mit meinem Herrn zu reden, obwohl ich nur Staub und Asche bin!
28 What though there lacke. v. of. l. rightwes wylt thou destroy all the cyte for lacke of. v? And he sayde: Yf I fynde there. xl. and. v. I will not destroy them.
Vielleicht möchten fünf weniger als fünfzig Gerechte darinnen sein, willst du denn die ganze Stadt verderben um der fünfe willen? Er sprach: Finde ich fünfundvierzig darinnen, so will ich sie nicht verderben!
29 And he spake vnto him yet agayne and sayde: what yf there be. xl. foude there: And he sayde: I wyll not do it for forties sake.
Und er fuhr weiter fort mit ihm zu reden und sprach: Man möchte vielleicht vierzig darin finden. Er aber sprach: Ich will ihnen nichts tun, um der vierzig willen.
30 And he sayde: O let not my LORde be angrye that I speake. What yf there be foude. xxx. there? And he sayde: I will not do it yf I finde. xxx. there.
Und Abraham sprach: Möge es meinen Herrn nicht erzürnen, wenn ich noch weiter rede! Man möchte vielleicht dreißig darin finden. Er aber sprach: Finde ich dreißig darinnen, so will ich ihnen nichts tun.
31 And be sayde: Oh se I haue begonne to speake vnto my LORde what yf there be. xx. founde there? And he sayde: I will not distroy the for tweties sake.
Und er sprach: Ach siehe, ich habe mich unterwunden, mit meinem Herrn zu reden: Man möchte vielleicht zwanzig darin finden. Er antwortete: Ich will sie nicht verderben, um der zwanzig willen!
32 And he sayde: O let not my LORde be angrye that I speake yet but eue once more only. What yf ten be founde there? And he sayde: I will not destroy the for. x. sake.
Und er sprach: Ach, zürne nicht, mein Herr, daß ich nur noch diesmal rede: Man möchte vielleicht zehn darin finden. Er aber sprach: Ich will sie nicht verderben, um der zehn willen!
33 And the LORde wet his waye as soone as he had lefte comenynge with Abraha. And Abraham returned vnto his place
Und der HERR ging hin, da er mit Abraham ausgeredet hatte; Abraham aber kehrte wieder an seinen Ort zurück.
