< Revelation 13 >

1 Then I saw, ‘rising out of the sea, a wild Beast with ten horns’ and seven heads. On its horns were ten diadems, and on its heads were blasphemous names.
Are kꞌu ri kumatz xtakꞌiꞌk chuchiꞌ ri plo. Kꞌa te riꞌ xintakꞌiꞌk puꞌwiꞌ ri sanyobꞌ ri kꞌo chuchiꞌ ri plo, kꞌa te xinwilo xel loq pa ri plo jun nimalaj awaj ri kꞌo wuqubꞌ ujolom rachiꞌl lajuj rukꞌaꞌ, chkijujunal ri rukꞌaꞌ kꞌo jujun alaj nitzꞌ taq kikorona, pa ri ujolom kꞌo jun tzꞌibꞌ ri karetzelaj ri Dios.
2 The Beast that I saw was like a leopard; but its feet were like a bear’s, and its mouth like the mouth of a lion. The Dragon gave it his power and his throne, and wide dominion.
We nimalaj awaj riꞌ jer kabꞌantaj jun nimalaj bꞌalam, ri raqan jer kꞌo raqan jun oso, ri uchiꞌ jer kꞌo uchiꞌ jun koj. Ri xibꞌibꞌalaj kumatz ri kꞌo raqan xuya ri ukwinem xuqujeꞌ ri rajawarem che we nimalaj awaj riꞌ.
3 One of its heads seemed to me to have been mortally wounded, but its deadly wound had been healed. The whole earth followed the Beast, wondering;
Kꞌo kꞌu jun chike ri ujolom ri nimalaj awaj sokotajinaq, xkunax kꞌut ri sokotajinaq rumal riꞌ ri winaq aꞌjuwachulew xemayijanik xuqujeꞌ xekojon che ri nimalaj awaj riꞌ.
4 and men worshiped the Dragon, because he had given his dominion to the Beast; while, as they worshiped the Beast, they said — ‘Who can compare with the Beast? and who can fight with it?’
Konojel ri winaq xkiqꞌijilaꞌj ri kumatz rumal cher are xyoꞌw taqanik che ri nimalaj awaj, jewaꞌ xkibꞌij: ¿Jachin kajunumataj rukꞌ we nimalaj awaj riꞌ, jachin kakwinik kachꞌoꞌjin rukꞌ?
5 The Beast was given ‘a mouth that spoke proudly’ and blasphemously, and it was empowered to work its will for forty-two months.
Xyaꞌtaj che we nimalaj awaj riꞌ chi kunaꞌ nimal xuqujeꞌ kujaluj chi areꞌ Dios.
6 It opened its mouth only to blaspheme God, to blaspheme his Name and his Tabernacle — those who dwell in his Tabernacle in Heaven.
7 It had been permitted to fight with Christ’s People and to conquer them, and it had received power over men of every tribe, and people, and language, and nation.
Ri nimalaj awaj xuqujeꞌ xyaꞌtaj bꞌe che kachꞌoꞌjin kukꞌ ri utinimit ri Dios, xchꞌeken kꞌu chike.
8 All who are living on earth will worship it — all whose names have not been written in the Lamb’s Book of Life, the Lamb that has been sacrificed from the foundation of the world.
Konojel ri winaq ri man tzꞌibꞌatal ta ri kibꞌiꞌ pa ri uwuj ri alaj Chij ri xkamisaxik are majaꞌ katiktaj loq ri uwachulew, xkiqꞌijilaꞌj ri nimalaj awaj.
9 Let him who has ears hear.
We kꞌo jun kꞌo uxikin, chutatabꞌej.
10 ‘Whoever is destined for captivity goes into captivity.’ Whoever shall kill with the sword must inevitably be killed with the sword. (Here there is need for endurance and faith on the part of Christ’s People.)
Are waꞌ ri kakꞌutuwik chi ri kojonelabꞌ jas jeqel kikꞌuꞌx chirij ri Dios.
11 Then I saw, rising out of the earth, another wild Beast. It had two horns like those of a lamb, and its voice was like a dragon’s.
Ri awaj kebꞌ rukꞌaꞌ jetaq ri rukꞌaꞌ jun laj chij, jer kachꞌaw jun kumatz ri kꞌo raqan.
12 It exercises all the authority of the first Beast under its very eyes; and it makes the earth and all who are living on it worship that first Beast, whose mortal wound was healed.
Ri awaj xyaꞌtaj bꞌe che kuꞌtaqchiꞌj konojel ri e kꞌo cho ri uwachulew rech kakiqꞌijilaꞌj ri nabꞌe nimalaj awaj, ri xkunax jun rukꞌaꞌ.
13 It performs great marvels, even causing fire to fall from the heavens to the earth, before men’s eyes;
Xuqujeꞌ xubꞌan mayijabꞌal taq jastaq, xukꞌut chikiwach konojel chi kakwinik kutzaq loq qꞌaqꞌ pa ri kaj cho ri uwachulew.
14 and in consequence of the marvels which it was allowed to perform under the eyes of the Beast, it is able to deceive all who are living on the earth. It bids those who live on the earth to make a statue in honour of the Beast, who, despite the wound from the sword, yet lived.
We nimalaj awaj riꞌ xuꞌtaqchiꞌj ri winaq aꞌj uwachulew rech kakibꞌan jun tzaq jetaq ri kakaꞌy ri nabꞌe nimalaj awaj, are waꞌ ri awaj ri xkamisaxik chi sakꞌibꞌal kꞌa te riꞌ xkꞌastaj chi loq junmul.
15 It was permitted to breathe life into the image of the Beast, so that the image of the Beast might speak; and it was also permitted to cause all who refused to worship the image of the Beast to be put to death.
Xyaꞌtaj kꞌu bꞌe che ri ukabꞌ nimalaj awaj rech kakwinik kuya ukꞌaslemal ri tzꞌaq rech kachꞌawik jeriꞌ kuꞌtaqchiꞌj ri winaq rech kakiqꞌijilaꞌj xuqujeꞌ xtaqan chikikamisaxik ri man kaqꞌijilaꞌn ta che.
16 High and low, rich and poor, freemen and slaves — it causes a brand to be put on the right hand or on the forehead of every one of them,
Ri nimalaj awaj xtaqanik chi kakoj ketal konojel ri winaq chikipalaj o pa ri wiqiqꞌabꞌ ta kꞌu e nitzꞌ o nimaꞌq, e qꞌinom e mebꞌaꞌ, e patrón xuqujeꞌ ajchakibꞌ.
17 so that no one is able to buy or sell, except those that bear this brand — either the name of the Beast or the number indicated by the letters of his name.
Man kꞌo ta kꞌu jun winaq kakwinik kakꞌayinik xuqujeꞌ kaloqꞌoꞌmanik we man kojtal ri retal o ri ubꞌiꞌ ri awaj che.
18 (Here there is need for discernment.) Let him who has the ability compute the number of the Beast; for the number indicates a man’s name. Its number is six hundred and sixty-six.
Waral rajawaxik kakoj ri etaꞌmabꞌal rech kachꞌobꞌik jas ri kubꞌij: Chuchomaj ri kꞌo retaꞌmabꞌal churiqaꞌ jas kubꞌij ri ajilabꞌal retal ri nimalaj awaj, jeriꞌ rumal ri ajilabꞌal, rajilabꞌal winaq. Ri ajilabꞌal riꞌ are waqibꞌ ciento oxkꞌal waqibꞌ.
