< Matthew 18 >

1 On the same occasion the disciples came to Jesus, and asked him: “Who is really the greatest in the Kingdom of Heaven?”
Matam aduda Jisugi tung-inbasing aduna Jisugi nakta laktuna hairak-i, “Swarga leibakta kanana khwaidagi henna chaobage?”
2 Jesus called a little child to him, and placed it in the middle of them, and then said:
Maduda Ibungona apikpa angang amabu kousilladuna makhoigi marakta lep-halle.
3 “I tell you, unless you change and become like little children, you will not enter the Kingdom of Heaven at all.
Adudagi Ibungona hairak-i, “Eina nakhoida tasengnamak hairibasini, nakhoina pukning hongduna apikpa angangsinggumna oirakpa natanadi, nakhoina swarga leibakta khak changloi.
4 Therefore, any one who will humble himself like this child — that man shall be the greatest in the Kingdom of Heaven.
Maram aduna apikpa angang asigumna nollukchaba kanagumba mahak aduna swarga leibakta khwaidagi henna chao-i.
5 And any one who, for the sake of my Name, welcomes even one little child like this, is welcoming me.
Aduga eigi mingda asigumba apikpa angang amabu lousinjaba kanagumba mahak aduna eibu lousinjabani.
6 But, if any one puts a snare in the way of one of these lowly ones who believe in me, it would be best for him to be sunk in the depths of the sea with a great millstone hung round his neck.
“Kanagumbana eibu thajaba apikpa angangsing asigi maraktagi amabu papta tahallabadi, mahakki ngaksamda achouba chakkri-nung ama yansillaga aruba ipakta lup-hankhibana mahakkidamak henna phei.
7 Alas for the world because of such snares! There cannot but be snares; yet alas for the man who is answerable for the snare!
Misingbu papta tahalliba makhoising adugi maramna taibangpan asi awabanida! Asigumbasing asi soidana thokkani adubu athembada tahalliba mi adu awabanida!
8 If your hand or your foot is a snare to you, cut it off, and throw it away. It would be better for you to enter the Life maimed or lame, than to have both hands, or both feet, and be thrown into the aeonian fire. (aiōnios g166)
“Aduga nahakki nakhut nattraga nakhongna nahakpu papta tahallabadi, madu kakthattuna langthokkho. Maramdi nakhut ani amadi nakhong ani pallaga lomba naidaba meinungda langsinbabudi, nakhut soinaina amadi khong tekna hingbada changbana nahakidamak henna phei. (aiōnios g166)
9 If your eye is a snare to you, take it out, and throw it away. It would be better for you to enter the Life with only one eye, than to have both eyes and be thrown into the fiery Pit. (Geenna g1067)
Aduga nahakki mitna nahakpu papta tahallabadi, madu kotthoktuna langthokkho. Maramdi namit ani pallaga norokki meinungda langsinbabudi, namit namatang pallaga hingbada changbana nahakkidamak henna phei. (Geenna g1067)
10 Beware of despising one of these lowly ones, for in Heaven, I tell you, their angels always see the face of my Father who is in Heaven.
“Nakhoina apikpa angangsing asigi maraktagi amabu thou-oi usittana toudananaba cheksillu. Maramdi eina nakhoida hairi, madudi matam pumnamakta eigi swargagi Ipaga loinadunata leiba makhoigi dutsing swargada lei.
Maramdi Migi Machanupa aduna mangkhraba adubu kanbinanaba lakpani.
12 What think you? If a man owns a hundred sheep, and one of them strays, will he not leave the ninety-nine on the hills, and go and search for the one that is straying?
“Nakhoina karamna khanbage? Kanagumba nupa amagi yao chama leijaba adudagi yao ama mangkhrabadi mahakna yao mariphutara-mapan adubu chingda thanamduna mangkhraba yao adubu thiba chatloidra?
13 And, if he succeeds in finding it, I tell you that he rejoices more over that one sheep than over the ninety-nine which did not stray.
Aduga mahakna yao adu phanglabadi, eina nakhoida tasengnamak hairibasini, mahakna mangdaba yao mariphutara-mapan adudagi henna mangluraba yao amadu phangjabana thoina henna haraojei.
14 So, too, it is the will of my Father who is in Heaven that not one of these lowly ones should be lost.
Matou asigumna angangsing asigi maraktagi ama mangkhiba haibasi nakhoigi swargada leiba napa Ibungogi aningba natte.
15 If your Brother does wrong, go to him and convince him of his fault when you and he are alone. If he listens to you, you have won your Brother.
“Nahakki nachin-nanaona nahakki nathakta pap tourabadi, nahakna chattuna mangonda mahakki aranba adu khanghallu. Adubu madu nakhoi ani khaktagi marakta pangthok-u. Karigumba nahakna haiba adu mahakna tarabadi, nahakna nahakki nachin-nanao adu amuk hanna phangjarabani.
16 But, if he does not listen to you, take with you one or two others, so that ‘on the evidence of two or three witnesses, every word may be put beyond dispute.’
Adubu nahakna haiba adu mahakna tadrabadi, nahakna haiba khudingmak adu achumbani haiba lepnabagi sakhi oinaba mioi ani nattraga ahum puduna amuk chatlu.
17 If he refuses to listen to them, speak to the Church; and, if he also refuses to listen to the Church, treat him as you would a Gentile or a tax-gatherer.
Aduga makhoina haiba adudasu mahakna tadrabadi, pumnamaksing adu singlupta haiyu. Aduga singlupna haiba wa phaoba mahakna tadrabadi mahakpu Tengban Mapubu thajadaba mi amasung kanggat khomba mi amagumna lou.
18 I tell you, all that you forbid on earth will be held in Heaven to be forbidden, and all that you allow on earth will be held in Heaven to be allowed.
“Eina nakhoida tasengnamak hairibasini, nakhoina taibangpanda punba khuding eina swargadasu pun-gani, aduga nakhoina taibangpanda thadokpa khuding eina swargadasu thadokkani!
19 Again, I tell you that, if but two of you on earth agree as to what they shall pray for, whatever it be, it will be granted them by my Father who is in Heaven.
“Aduga eina masimasu nakhoida tasengna hairi: Nakhoigi maraktagi anina makhoina nijariba adugi maramda malem asida pukning tinnajarabadi makhoina nijariba adu swargada leiba eigi Ipana makhoida toubigani.
20 For where two or three have come together in my Name, I am present with them.”
Maramdi eigi mingda mi ani nattraga ahum punna tinnaba mapham aduda eina makhoigi marakta lei.”
21 Then Peter came up, and said to Jesus: “Master, how often am I to forgive my Brother when he wrongs me? As many as seven times?”
Adudagi Peter-na Jisugi nakta laktuna hairak-i, “Ibungo, eigi ichin-inaona eingonda aranba thabak touraklabadi eina mahakpu kayarak ngakpigadage? Taretlak phaoba ngakpigadra?”
22 But Jesus answered: “Not seven times, but ‘seventy times seven.’
Maduda Jisuna mangonda khumlak-i, “Natte, taretlak natte, adubu tarettu humphutararakni!
23 And therefore the Kingdom of Heaven may be compared to a king who wished to settle accounts with his servants.
Maram aduna swarga leibak asi mahakki manaisingga sel pathok pasin touge ningliba ningthou amagumbani.
24 When he had begun to do so, one of them was brought to him who owed him six million pounds;
Aduga mahakna sel pathok pasin touba hourabada talent lising tara tonba nupa ama mahakki nakta purakle.
25 and, as he could not pay, his master ordered him to be sold towards the payment of the debt, together with his wife, and his children, and everything that he had.
Adubu manai aduna madu singba ngamdrabada, mahak masamak aduga mahakki nupi angang amadi mahakki leijaba pumnamak yonthoklaga sendol adu singdoknaba mabungo aduna yathang pirammi.
26 Thereupon the servant threw himself down on the ground before him and said ‘Have patience with me, and I will pay you all.’
Adubu manai aduna ningthou adugi mangda tuthajaduna khurumjaraga haijarak-i, ‘Ibungo, eibu matam kharadangga ngaibiyu, eina sel pumnamak singjage.’
27 The master was moved with compassion; and he let him go, and forgave him the debt.
Maduda mabungo aduna manai aduda nungsiba pokladuna mahakpu thadokpire aduga mahakki sendol adusu kokpire.
28 But, on going out, that same servant came upon one of his fellow-servants who owed him ten pounds. Seizing him by the throat, he said ‘Pay what you owe me.’
“Adubu manai aduna mapham adudagi thoklakpada mahakki denari chama tonba ningthou manai oiminnaba mamannaba ama thengnare. Adudagi mahakna mamannaba adubu pharaga makhouri charam mettuna, ‘Eigi atonba sel adu sing-u!’ haina hairammi.
29 Thereupon his fellow-servant threw himself on the ground and begged for mercy. ‘Have patience with me,’ he said, ‘and I will pay you.’
Maduda mamannaba minai aduna mamaangda tuthajaduna haijarak-i, ‘Eibu matam kharadangga ngaibiyu, eina sel pumnamak singjage.’
30 But the other would not, but went and put him in prison till he should pay his debt.
Adubu haijariba adu mahakna yaramde. Madugi mahutta, mahakna toliba senphamdu singdriphaoba mahakpu keisumsangda thajille.
31 When his fellow-servants saw what had happened, they were greatly distressed, and went to their master and laid the whole matter before him.
Adudagi mahakki mamannaba atoppa minai kharana thokkhiba thoudoktu ubada thamoi yamna soklammi. Amasung makhoina chattuna thokkhiba thoudok pumnamak adu ningthou aduda tamlure.
32 Upon that the master sent for the servant, and said to him ‘You wicked servant! When you begged me for mercy, I forgave you the whole of that debt.
Adudagi ningthou aduna minai adubu koukhatladuna hairak-i, ‘He phattaba minai, nahakna eingonda haijabagi maramna eina nahakki sendon pumnamak adu kokpikhre.
33 Ought not you, also, to have shown mercy to your fellow-servant, just as I showed mercy to you?’
Eina nangbu nungsikhiba adugumna nahaknasu nahakki namannaba adubusu nungsipham thoktabra?’
34 Then his master, in anger, handed him over to the jailers, until he should pay the whole of his debt.
Adudagi ningthou aduna saoraduna mana tonba sendon pumnamak adu singdriphaoba mahakpu ot-neinanaba keisumsangda thajillammi.”
35 So, also, will my heavenly Father do to you, unless each one of you forgives his Brother from his heart.”
“Aduga nakhoina nakhoigi thamoidagi nachin-nanaogi ayol-aransing adu kokpidrabadi swargada leiba eigi Ipanasu nakhoida matou asigumna tougani.”
