John 17
1 After saying this, Jesus raised his eyes heaven-wards, and said: “Father, the hour has come; honour thy Son, that thy Son may honour thee;
第四款 イエズスの司祭的祈祷 イエズス斯く語り果てて、目を翹げ天を仰ぎて曰ひけるは、父よ時來れり、御子をして汝に光榮あらしめん為に、御子に光榮あらしめ給へ、
2 even as thou gavest him power over all mankind, that he should give Immortal Life to all those whom thou has given him. (aiōnios g166)
其は父より賜はりし人々に永遠の生命を與へしめんとて、之に萬民の上に権能を賜ひたればなり。 (aiōnios g166)
3 And the Immortal Life is this — to know thee the one true God, and Jesus Christ whom thou has sent as thy Messenger. (aiōnios g166)
抑永遠の生命は、唯一の眞の神にて在す汝と、其遣はし給へるイエズス、キリストとを知るに在り。 (aiōnios g166)
4 I have honoured thee on earth by completing the work which thou has given me to do;
我は地上にて汝に光榮あらしめ、我に為さしめんとて賜ひし業を全うせり。
5 and now do thou honour me, Father, at thy own side, with the honour which I had at thy side before the world began.
父よ、世界の存在に前だちて我が汝と共に有せし光榮を以て、今汝と共に我に光榮あらしめ給へ。
6 I have revealed thee to those whom thou gavest me from the world; they were thy own, and thou gavest them to me; and they have laid thy Message to heart.
我は、此世より選みて我に賜ひし人々に御名を顕せり。彼等汝のものたりしに之を我に賜ひ、彼等は汝の言を守り、
7 They recognise now that everything that thou gavest me was from thee;
我に賜ひし事悉く汝より出づることを今にして暁れり。
8 for I have given them the teaching which thou gavest me, and they received it, and clearly understood that I came from thee, and they believed that thou has sent me as thy Messenger.
蓋我に賜ひし言を我彼等に授け、彼等は之を受けて、深く我が汝より出でたるを暁り、汝の我に遣はし給ひしことを信ぜり。
9 I intercede for them; I am not interceding for the world, but for those whom thou has given me, for they are thy own —
我彼等の為に祈る。我が祈るは世の為に非ずして、我に賜ひたる人々の為なり、彼等は汝のものなればなり。
10 All that is mine is thine, and all that is thine is mine — and I am honoured in them.
我ものは悉く汝のもの、汝のものは我ものにして、我彼等の中に光榮を得たり。
11 Now I am to be in this world no longer, but they are still to be in the world, and I am to come to thee. Holy Father, keep them by that revelation of thy Name which thou has given me, that they may be one, as we are.
我最早世に居らず、彼等は世に居り、我は汝に至る。聖なる父よ、我に賜ひたる人々を御名を以て護り給へ、是我等の如く彼等も一ならん為なり。
12 Whilst I was with them, I kept them by that revelation, and I have guarded them; and not one of them has been lost, except that lost soul — in fulfilment of Scripture.
我彼等と共なりし間、御名を以て彼等を護り居たりしが、我に賜ひたる人々を保ち、其中の一人も失せず、唯聖書の成就せん為に、亡の子の失せたるのみ。
13 But now I am to come to thee; and I am speaking thus, while still in the world, that they may have my own joy, in all its fullness, in their hearts.
今は我汝に至る、世に在りて斯く語るは、我喜を彼等の身に円満ならしめんが為なり。
14 I have given them thy Message; and the world hated them, because they do not belong to the world, even as I do not belong to the world.
我は御言を彼等に授け、世は彼等を憎めり、是は我も世のものに非ざる如く、彼等は世のものに非ざればなり。
15 I do not ask thee to take them out of the world, but to keep them from Evil.
我が祈るは彼等を世より取去り給へとには非ず、彼等を護りて惡を逃れしめ給へとなり。
16 They do not belong to the world, even as I do not belong to the world.
我も世のものに非ざる如く、彼等は世のものに非ず、
17 Consecrate them by the Truth; thy Message is Truth.
願くは彼等を眞理の中に聖ならしめ給へ、御言は即ち眞理なり、
18 Just as thou has sent me as thy Messenger to the world, so I send them as my Messengers to the world.
我を世に遣はし給ひし如く、我も彼等を世に遣はせり、
19 And it is for their sakes that I am consecrating myself, so that they also may be truly consecrated.
且彼等をも眞理の中に聖ならしめんとして、彼等の為に己を聖ならしむ。
20 But it is not only for them that I am interceding, but also for those who believe in me through their Message,
我が祈るは彼等の為のみならず、又彼等の言によりて我を信ずる人々の為にして、
21 that they all may be one — that as thou, Father, art in union with us — and so the world may believe that thou hast sent me as thy Messenger.
彼等が悉く一ならん為なり。父よ、是汝の我に在し我が汝に居るが如く、彼等も我等に居りて一ならん為にして、汝の我を遣はし給ひし事を世に信ぜしめんとてなり。
22 I have given them the honour which thou has given me, that they may be one as we are one —
我に賜ひし光榮を我彼等に與へたり、是は我等の一なるが如く、彼等も一ならん為なり。
23 I in union with them and thou with me — that so they may be perfected in their union, and thus the world may know that thou hast sent me as thy Messenger, and that thou has loved them as thou hast loved me.
我彼等に居り汝我に在す、是は彼等が一に全うせられん為、又汝の我を遣はし給ひし事と、我を愛し給ひし如く彼等をも愛し給ひし事とを、世の暁らん為なり。
24 Father, my desire for all those whom thou has given me is that they may be with me where I am, so that they may see the honour which thou has given me; for thou didst love me before the beginning of the world.
父よ、願くは我に賜ひし人々も、我が居る處に我と共ならん事を、是世界開闢以前より我を愛し給ひて我に賜ひたる我光榮を、彼等に見せん為なり。
25 O righteous Father, though the world did not know thee, I knew thee; and these men knew that thou has sent me as thy Messenger.
正しき父よ、世は汝を知らざれども我は汝を知り、彼等も亦汝の我を遣はし給ひしことを知れり。
26 I have made thee known to them, and will do so still; that the love that thou has had for me may be in their hearts, and that I may be in them also.”
我は御名を彼等に知らせたり、又知らせんとす、是我を愛し給ひたる愛の彼等に存して、我も彼等に居らん為なり、[と曰へり]。
