John 14
1 Do not let your hearts be troubled. Believe in God; believe also in me.
மநோது³: கி²நோ மா பூ⁴த; ஈஸ்²வரே விஸ்²வஸித மயி ச விஸ்²வஸித|
2 In my Father’s Home there are many dwellings. If it had not been so, I should have told you, for I am going to prepare a place for you.
மம பிது க்³ரு’ஹே ப³ஹூநி வாஸஸ்தா²நி ஸந்தி நோ சேத் பூர்வ்வம்’ யுஷ்மாந் அஜ்ஞாபயிஷ்யம்’ யுஷ்மத³ர்த²ம்’ ஸ்தா²நம்’ ஸஜ்ஜயிதும்’ க³ச்சா²மி|
3 And, since I go and prepare a place for you, I shall return and take you to be with me, so that you may be where I am;
யதி³ க³த்வாஹம்’ யுஷ்மந்நிமித்தம்’ ஸ்தா²நம்’ ஸஜ்ஜயாமி தர்ஹி பநராக³த்ய யுஷ்மாந் ஸ்வஸமீபம்’ நேஷ்யாமி, ததோ யத்ராஹம்’ திஷ்டா²மி தத்ர யூயமபி ஸ்தா²ஸ்யத²|
4 and you know the way to the place where I am going.”
அஹம்’ யத்ஸ்தா²நம்’ ப்³ரஜாமி தத்ஸ்தா²நம்’ யூயம்’ ஜாநீத² தஸ்ய பந்தா²நமபி ஜாநீத²|
5 “We do not know where you are going, Master,” said Thomas; “so how can we know the way?”
ததா³ தோ²மா அவத³த், ஹே ப்ரபோ⁴ ப⁴வாந் குத்ர யாதி தத்³வயம்’ ந ஜாநீம: , தர்ஹி கத²ம்’ பந்தா²நம்’ ஜ்ஞாதும்’ ஸ²க்நும: ?
6 Jesus answered: “I am the Way, and the Truth, and the Life; no one ever comes to the Father except through me.
யீஸு²ரகத²யத்³ அஹமேவ ஸத்யஜீவநரூபபதோ² மயா ந க³ந்தா கோபி பிது: ஸமீபம்’ க³ந்தும்’ ந ஸ²க்நோதி|
7 If you had recognised me, you would have known my Father also; for the future you will recognise him, indeed you have already seen him.”
யதி³ மாம் அஜ்ஞாஸ்யத தர்ஹி மம பிதரமப்யஜ்ஞாஸ்யத கிந்த்வது⁴நாதஸ்தம்’ ஜாநீத² பஸ்²யத² ச|
8 “Master, show us the Father,” said Philip, “and we shall be satisfied.”
ததா³ பி²லிப: கதி²தவாந், ஹே ப்ரபோ⁴ பிதரம்’ த³ர்ஸ²ய தஸ்மாத³ஸ்மாகம்’ யதே²ஷ்டம்’ ப⁴விஷ்யதி|
9 “Have I been all this time among you,” said Jesus, “and yet you, Philip, have not recognised me? He who has seen me has seen the Father, how can you say, then, ‘Show us the Father’?
ததோ யீஸு²: ப்ரத்யாவாதீ³த், ஹே பி²லிப யுஷ்மாபி⁴: ஸார்த்³த⁴ம் ஏதாவத்³தி³நாநி ஸ்தி²தமபி மாம்’ கிம்’ ந ப்ரத்யபி⁴ஜாநாஸி? யோ ஜநோ மாம் அபஸ்²யத் ஸ பிதரமப்யபஸ்²யத் தர்ஹி பிதரம் அஸ்மாந் த³ர்ஸ²யேதி கதா²ம்’ கத²ம்’ கத²யஸி?
10 Do not you believe that I am in union with the Father, and the Father with me? In giving you my teaching I am not speaking on my own authority; but the Father himself, always in union with me, does his own work.
அஹம்’ பிதரி திஷ்டா²மி பிதா மயி திஷ்ட²தீதி கிம்’ த்வம்’ ந ப்ரத்யஷி? அஹம்’ யத்³வாக்யம்’ வதா³மி தத் ஸ்வதோ ந வதா³மி கிந்து ய: பிதா மயி விராஜதே ஸ ஏவ ஸர்வ்வகர்ம்மாணி கராதி|
11 Believe me,” he said to them all, “when I say that I am in union with the Father and the Father with me, or else believe me on account of the work itself.
அதஏவ பிதர்ய்யஹம்’ திஷ்டா²மி பிதா ச மயி திஷ்ட²தி மமாஸ்யாம்’ கதா²யாம்’ ப்ரத்யயம்’ குருத, நோ சேத் கர்ம்மஹேதோ: ப்ரத்யயம்’ குருத|
12 In truth I tell you, he who believes in me will himself do the work that I am doing; and he will do greater work still, because I am going to the Father.
அஹம்’ யுஷ்மாநதியதா²ர்த²ம்’ வதா³மி, யோ ஜநோ மயி விஸ்²வஸிதி ஸோஹமிவ கர்ம்மாணி கரிஷ்யதி வரம்’ ததோபி மஹாகர்ம்மாணி கரிஷ்யதி யதோ ஹேதோரஹம்’ பிது: ஸமீபம்’ க³ச்சா²மி|
13 Whatever you ask, in my Name, I will do, that the Father may be honoured in the Son.
யதா² புத்ரேண பிது ர்மஹிமா ப்ரகாஸ²தே தத³ர்த²ம்’ மம நாம ப்ரோச்ய யத் ப்ரார்த²யிஷ்யத்⁴வே தத் ஸப²லம்’ கரிஷ்யாமி|
14 If you ask anything, in my Name, I will do it.
யதி³ மம நாம்நா யத் கிஞ்சித்³ யாசத்⁴வே தர்ஹி தத³ஹம்’ ஸாத⁴யிஷ்யாமி|
15 If you love me, you will lay my commands to heart,
யதி³ மயி ப்ரீயத்⁴வே தர்ஹி மமாஜ்ஞா: ஸமாசரத|
16 and I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Helper, to be with you always — the Spirit of Truth. (aiōn g165)
ததோ மயா பிது: ஸமீபே ப்ரார்தி²தே பிதா நிரந்தரம்’ யுஷ்மாபி⁴: ஸார்த்³த⁴ம்’ ஸ்தா²தும் இதரமேகம்’ ஸஹாயம் அர்தா²த் ஸத்யமயம் ஆத்மாநம்’ யுஷ்மாகம்’ நிகடம்’ ப்ரேஷயிஷ்யதி| (aiōn g165)
17 The world cannot receive this Spirit, because it does not see him or recognise him, but you recognise him, because he is always with you, and is within you.
ஏதஜ்ஜக³தோ லோகாஸ்தம்’ க்³ரஹீதும்’ ந ஸ²க்நுவந்தி யதஸ்தே தம்’ நாபஸ்²யந் நாஜநம்’ஸ்²ச கிந்து யூயம்’ ஜாநீத² யதோ ஹேதோ: ஸ யுஷ்மாகமந்த ர்நிவஸதி யுஷ்மாகம்’ மத்⁴யே ஸ்தா²ஸ்யதி ச|
18 I will not leave you bereaved; I will come to you.
அஹம்’ யுஷ்மாந் அநாதா²ந் க்ரு’த்வா ந யாஸ்யாமி புநரபி யுஷ்மாகம்’ ஸமீபம் ஆக³மிஷ்யாமி|
19 In a little while the world will see me no more, but you will still see me; because I am living, you will be living also.
கியத்காலரத் பரம் அஸ்ய ஜக³தோ லோகா மாம்’ புந ர்ந த்³ரக்ஷ்யந்தி கிந்து யூயம்’ த்³ரக்ஷ்யத²; அஹம்’ ஜீவிஷ்யாமி தஸ்மாத் காரணாத்³ யூயமபி ஜீவிஷ்யத²|
20 At that time you will recognise that I am in union with the Father, and you with me, and I with you.
பிதர்ய்யஹமஸ்மி மயி ச யூயம்’ ஸ்த², ததா²ஹம்’ யுஷ்மாஸ்வஸ்மி தத³பி ததா³ ஜ்ஞாஸ்யத²|
21 It is he who has my commands and lays them to heart that loves me; and he who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I will love him, and will reveal myself to him.”
யோ ஜநோ மமாஜ்ஞா க்³ரு’ஹீத்வா தா ஆசரதி ஸஏவ மயி ப்ரீயதே; யோ ஜநஸ்²ச மயி ப்ரீயதே ஸஏவ மம பிது: ப்ரியபாத்ரம்’ ப⁴விஷ்யதி, ததா²ஹமபி தஸ்மிந் ப்ரீத்வா தஸ்மை ஸ்வம்’ ப்ரகாஸ²யிஷ்யாமி|
22 “What has happened, Master,” said Judas (not Judas Iscariot), “that you are going to reveal yourself to us, and not to the world?”
ததா³ ஈஷ்கரியோதீயாத்³ அந்யோ யிஹூதா³ஸ்தமவத³த், ஹே ப்ரபோ⁴ ப⁴வாந் ஜக³தோ லோகாநாம்’ ஸந்நிதௌ⁴ ப்ரகாஸி²தோ ந பூ⁴த்வாஸ்மாகம்’ ஸந்நிதௌ⁴ குத: ப்ரகாஸி²தோ ப⁴விஷ்யதி?
23 “Whoever loves me,” Jesus answered, “will lay my Message to heart; and my Father will love him, and we will come to him and make our dwelling with him.
ததோ யீஸு²: ப்ரத்யுதி³தவாந், யோ ஜநோ மயி ப்ரீயதே ஸ மமாஜ்ஞா அபி க்³ரு’ஹ்லாதி, தேந மம பிதாபி தஸ்மிந் ப்ரேஷ்யதே, ஆவாஞ்ச தந்நிகடமாக³த்ய தேந ஸஹ நிவத்ஸ்யாவ: |
24 He who does not love me will not lay my Message to heart; and the Message to which you are listening is not my own, but that of the Father who sent me.
யோ ஜநோ மயி ந ப்ரீயதே ஸ மம கதா² அபி ந க்³ரு’ஹ்லாதி புநஸ்²ச யாமிமாம்’ கதா²ம்’ யூயம்’ ஸ்²ரு’ணுத² ஸா கதா² கேவலஸ்ய மம ந கிந்து மம ப்ரேரகோ ய: பிதா தஸ்யாபி கதா²|
25 I have told you all this while still with you,
இதா³நீம்’ யுஷ்மாகம்’ நிகடே வித்³யமாநோஹம் ஏதா: ஸகலா: கதா²: கத²யாமி|
26 but the Helper — the Holy Spirit whom the Father will send in my Name — he will teach you all things, and will recall to your minds all that I have said to you.
கிந்த்வித: பரம்’ பித்ரா ய: ஸஹாயோ(அ)ர்தா²த் பவித்ர ஆத்மா மம நாம்நி ப்ரேரயிஷ்யதி ஸ ஸர்வ்வம்’ ஸி²க்ஷயித்வா மயோக்தா: ஸமஸ்தா: கதா² யுஷ்மாந் ஸ்மாரயிஷ்யதி|
27 Peace be with you! My own peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled, or dismayed.
அஹம்’ யுஷ்மாகம்’ நிகடே ஸா²ந்திம்’ ஸ்தா²பயித்வா யாமி, நிஜாம்’ ஸா²ந்திம்’ யுஷ்மப்⁴யம்’ த³தா³மி, ஜக³தோ லோகா யதா² த³தா³தி ததா²ஹம்’ ந த³தா³மி; யுஷ்மாகம் அந்த: கரணாநி து³: கி²தாநி பீ⁴தாநி ச ந ப⁴வந்து|
28 You heard me say that I was going away and would return to you. Had you loved me, you would have been glad that I was going to the Father, because the Father is greater than I.
அஹம்’ க³த்வா புநரபி யுஷ்மாகம்’ ஸமீபம் ஆக³மிஷ்யாமி மயோக்தம்’ வாக்யமித³ம்’ யூயம் அஸ்²ரௌஷ்ட; யதி³ மய்யப்ரேஷ்யத்⁴வம்’ தர்ஹ்யஹம்’ பிது: ஸமீபம்’ க³ச்சா²மி மமாஸ்யாம்’ கதா²யாம்’ யூயம் அஹ்லாதி³ஷ்யத்⁴வம்’ யதோ மம பிதா மத்தோபி மஹாந்|
29 And this I have told you now before it happens, that, when it does happen, you may still believe in me.
தஸ்யா க⁴டநாயா: ஸமயே யதா² யுஷ்மாகம்’ ஸ்²ரத்³தா⁴ ஜாயதே தத³ர்த²ம் அஹம்’ தஸ்யா க⁴டநாயா: பூர்வ்வம் இதா³நீம்’ யுஷ்மாந் ஏதாம்’ வார்த்தாம்’ வதா³மி|
30 I shall not talk with you much more, for the Spirit that is ruling the world is coming. He has nothing in common with me;
இத: பரம்’ யுஷ்மாபி⁴: ஸஹ மம ப³ஹவ ஆலாபா ந ப⁴விஷ்யந்தி யத: காரணாத்³ ஏதஸ்ய ஜக³த: பதிராக³ச்ச²தி கிந்து மயா ஸஹ தஸ்ய கோபி ஸம்ப³ந்தோ⁴ நாஸ்தி|
31 but he is coming that the world may see that I love the Father, and that I do as the Father commanded me. Come, let us be going.
அஹம்’ பிதரி ப்ரேம கரோமி ததா² பிது ர்விதி⁴வத் கர்ம்மாணி கரோமீதி யேந ஜக³தோ லோகா ஜாநந்தி தத³ர்த²ம் உத்திஷ்ட²த வயம்’ ஸ்தா²நாத³ஸ்மாத்³ க³ச்சா²ம|
