< Acts 2 >

1 In the course of the Festival at the close of the Harvest the disciples had all met together,
ⲁ̅ⲛⲧⲉⲣⲉϥϫⲱⲕ ⲇⲉ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲛϭⲓ ⲡⲉϩⲟⲟⲩ ⲛⲧⲡⲉⲛⲧⲏⲕⲟⲥⲧⲏ ⲛⲉⲩϣⲟⲟⲡ ⲧⲏⲣⲟⲩ ⲡⲉ ϩⲓ ⲛⲉⲩⲉⲣⲏⲩ
2 when suddenly there came from the heavens a noise like that of a strong wind rushing by; it filled the whole house in which they were sitting.
ⲃ̅ⲁⲩⲱ ⲁϥϣⲱⲡⲉ ϩⲛ ⲟⲩϣⲥⲛⲉ ⲛϭⲓ ⲟⲩϩⲣⲟⲟⲩ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲛ ⲧⲡⲉ ⲛⲑⲉ ⲛⲟⲩⲡⲛⲟⲏ ⲉⲩⲉⲓⲛⲉ ⲙⲙⲟⲥ ⲛϭⲟⲛⲥ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲁⲥⲙⲟⲩϩ ⲙⲡⲏⲓ ⲧⲏⲣϥ ⲉⲛⲉⲩϩⲙⲟⲟⲥ ϩⲣⲁⲓ ⲛϩⲏⲧϥ
3 Then there appeared tongues of what seemed to be flame, separating, so that one settled on each of them;
ⲅ̅ⲁⲩⲟⲩⲱⲛϩ ⲛⲁⲩ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲛϭⲓ ϩⲉⲛⲗⲁⲥ ⲉⲩⲡⲟⲣϫ ⲛⲑⲉ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲛ ⲟⲩⲕⲱϩⲧ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲁⲩϩⲙⲟⲟⲥ ⲉϩⲣⲁⲓ ⲉϫⲙ ⲡⲟⲩⲁ ⲡⲟⲩⲁ ⲙⲙⲟⲟⲩ
4 and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and began to speak with strange ‘tongues’ as the Spirit prompted their utterances.
ⲇ̅ⲁⲩⲙⲟⲩϩ ⲧⲏⲣⲟⲩ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲙ ⲡⲉⲡⲛⲁ ⲉⲧⲟⲩⲁⲁⲃ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲁⲩⲁⲣⲭⲉⲓ ⲛϣⲁϫⲉ ϩⲣⲁⲓ ϩⲛ ϩⲉⲛⲕⲉⲁⲥⲡⲉ ⲕⲁⲧⲁ ⲑⲉ ⲉⲛⲉⲣⲉⲡⲉⲡⲛⲁ ϯ ⲛⲁⲩ ⲉⲧⲣⲉⲩϣⲁϫⲉ ⲛⲙⲙⲁⲩ
5 Now there were then staying in Jerusalem religious Jews from every country in the world;
ⲉ̅ⲛⲉⲩϣⲟⲟⲡ ⲇⲉ ⲡⲉ ϩⲛ ⲑⲓⲗⲏⲙ ⲉⲩⲟⲩⲏϩ ⲛϭⲓ ϩⲉⲛⲓⲟⲩⲇⲁⲓ ϩⲉⲛⲣⲱⲙⲉ ⲛⲣⲉϥⲣϩⲟⲧⲉ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲛ ϩⲉⲑⲛⲟⲥ ⲛⲓⲙⲉⲧϩⲁ ⲡⲉⲥⲏⲧ ⲛⲧⲡⲉ
6 and, when this sound was heard, numbers of people collected, in the greatest excitement, because each of them heard the disciples speaking in his own language.
ⲋ̅ⲛⲧⲉⲣⲉⲧⲉⲓⲥⲙⲏ ⲇⲉ ϣⲱⲡⲉ ⲁⲡⲙⲏⲏϣⲉ ⲥⲱⲟⲩϩ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲁⲩϣⲧⲟⲣⲧⲣ ϫⲉ ⲛⲉⲣⲉⲡⲟⲩⲁ ⲡⲟⲩⲁ ⲥⲱⲧⲙ ⲉⲣⲟⲟⲩ ⲉⲩϣⲁϫⲉ ϩⲛ ⲧⲉϥⲁⲥⲡⲉ
7 They were utterly amazed, and kept asking in astonishment: “What! Are not all these men who are speaking Galileans?
ⲍ̅ⲁⲩⲡⲱϣⲥ ⲇⲉ ⲧⲏⲣⲟⲩ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲁⲩⲣϣⲡⲏⲣⲉ ⲉⲩϫⲱ ⲙⲙⲟⲥ ϫⲉ ⲙⲏ ⲛϩⲉⲛⲅⲁⲗⲓⲗⲁⲓⲟⲥ ⲁⲛ ⲛⲉ ⲛⲁⲓ ⲧⲏⲣⲟⲩ ⲉⲧϣⲁϫⲉ
8 Then how is it that we each of us hear them in our own native language?
ⲏ̅ⲁⲩⲱ ⲛⲁϣ ⲛϩⲉ ⲁⲛⲟⲛ ⲧⲛⲥⲱⲧⲙ ⲡⲟⲩⲁ ⲡⲟⲩⲁ ϩⲣⲁⲓ ϩⲛ ⲧⲉϥⲁⲥⲡⲉ ⲛⲧⲁⲩϫⲡⲟⲛ ⲛϩⲏⲧⲥ
9 Some of us are Parthians, some Medes, some Elamites; and some of us live in Mesopotamia, in Judea and Cappadocia, in Pontus and Roman Asia,
ⲑ̅ⲙⲡⲁⲣⲑⲟⲥ ⲙⲛ ⲙⲙⲏⲇⲟⲥ ⲙⲛ ⲛⲗⲁⲙⲓⲧⲏⲥ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲛⲉⲧⲟⲩⲏϩ ϩⲛ ⲧⲙⲉⲥⲁⲡⲟⲧⲁⲙⲓⲁ ϯⲟⲩⲇⲁⲓⲁ ⲙⲛ ⲧⲕⲁⲡⲡⲟⲇⲟⲕⲓⲁ ⲡⲡⲟⲛⲧⲟⲥ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲧⲁⲥⲓⲁ
10 in Phrygia and Pamphylia, in Egypt and the districts of Libya adjoining Cyrene; some of us are visitors from Rome,
ⲓ̅ⲧⲉⲫⲣⲩⲅⲓⲁ ⲙⲛ ⲧⲡⲁⲙⲫⲩⲗⲓⲁ ⲕⲏⲙⲉ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲛⲥⲁ ⲛⲧⲗⲓⲃⲩⲏ ⲉⲧϩⲛ ⲧⲕⲩⲣⲏⲛⲏ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲛⲉϩⲣⲱⲙⲁⲓⲟⲥ ⲉⲧⲧⲁⲓ
11 either Jews by birth or converts, and some are Cretans and Arabians — yet we all alike hear them speaking in our own tongues of the great things that God has done.”
ⲓ̅ⲁ̅ⲛⲓⲟⲩⲇⲁⲓ ⲙⲛ ⲛⲉⲡⲣⲟⲥⲩⲗⲩⲧⲟⲥ ⲛⲉⲕⲣⲓⲧⲏⲥ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲛⲁⲣⲁⲃⲟⲥ ⲧⲛⲥⲱⲧⲙ ⲉⲣⲟⲟⲩ ⲉⲩϣⲁϫⲉ ϩⲛ ϩⲉⲛⲁⲥⲡⲉ ⲉⲩⲧⲁⲩⲟ ⲛⲙⲙⲛⲧⲛⲟϭ ⲙⲡⲛⲟⲩⲧⲉ
12 They were all utterly amazed and bewildered. “What does it mean?” they asked one another.
ⲓ̅ⲃ̅ⲁⲩⲡⲱϣⲥ ⲇⲉ ⲧⲏⲣⲟⲩ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲁⲩⲁⲡⲟⲣⲣⲓ ⲟⲩⲁ ⲛⲛⲁϩⲣⲛ ⲟⲩⲁ ⲉⲩϫⲱ ⲙⲙⲟⲥ ϫⲉ ⲟⲩ ⲡⲉ ⲡⲉⲓϩⲱⲃ
13 But there were some who said with a sneer: “They have had too much new wine.”
ⲓ̅ⲅ̅ϩⲉⲛⲕⲟⲟⲩⲉ ⲇⲉ ⲉⲩⲛⲟϭⲛⲉϭ ⲉⲩϫⲱ ⲙⲙⲟⲥ ϫⲉ ⲉⲣⲉϩⲏⲧⲟⲩ ⲙⲉϩ ⲛⲙⲣⲓⲥ
14 Then Peter, surrounded by the eleven other Apostles, stood up, and, raising his voice, addressed the crowd. “Men of Judea,” he began, “and all you who are staying in Jerusalem, let me tell you what this means. Mark well my words.
ⲓ̅ⲇ̅ⲁϥⲁϩⲉ ⲇⲉ ⲉⲣⲁⲧϥ ⲛϭⲓ ⲡⲉⲧⲣⲟⲥ ⲙⲛ ⲡⲙⲛⲧⲟⲩⲉ ⲁϥϥⲓ ⲛⲧⲉϥⲥⲙⲏ ⲉϩⲣⲁⲓ ⲁϥⲟⲩⲱϣⲃ ⲛⲁⲩ ϫⲉ ⲛⲣⲱⲙⲉ ⲛⲓⲟⲩⲇⲁⲓ ⲙⲛ ⲟⲩⲟⲛ ⲛⲓⲙ ⲉⲧⲟⲩⲏϩ ϩⲛ ⲑⲓⲗⲏⲙ ⲙⲁⲣⲉ ⲡⲁⲓ ϣⲱⲡⲉ ⲉϥⲟⲩⲟⲛϩ ⲛⲏⲧⲛ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲛⲧⲉⲧⲛϫⲓ ⲥⲙⲏ ⲉⲛⲁϣⲁϫⲉ
15 These men are not drunk, as you suppose; for it is only now nine in the morning! No!
ⲓ̅ⲉ̅ⲛⲉⲣⲉ ⲛⲁⲓ ⲅⲁⲣ ⲧⲁϩⲉ ⲁⲛ ⲛⲑⲉ ⲛⲧⲱⲧⲛ ⲉⲧⲉⲧⲛⲙⲉⲉⲩⲉ ⲉⲣⲟⲥ ϫⲡϣⲟⲙⲧⲉ ⲅⲁⲣ ⲙⲡⲉϩⲟⲟⲩ ⲧⲉ
16 This is what is spoken of in the prophet Joel —
ⲓ̅ⲋ̅ⲁⲗⲗⲁ ⲡⲁⲓ ⲡⲉⲛⲧⲁⲩϫⲟⲟϥ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲓⲧⲛ ⲓⲱⲏⲗ ⲡⲉⲡⲣⲟⲫⲏⲧⲏⲥ
17 ‘It shall come about in the last days,’ God says, ‘That I will pour out my Spirit on all mankind; Your sons and your daughters shall become Prophets, Your young men shall see visions, And your old men dream dreams;
ⲓ̅ⲍ̅ϫⲉ ⲥⲛⲁϣⲱⲡⲉ ⲙⲛⲛⲥⲁ ⲛⲁⲓ ⲡⲉϫⲉ ⲡⲛⲟⲩⲧⲉ ⲛⲧⲁⲡⲱϩⲧ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲙ ⲡⲁⲡⲛⲁ ⲉϫⲛ ⲥⲁⲣⲝ ⲛⲓⲙ ⲛⲥⲉⲡⲣⲟⲫⲏⲧⲉⲩⲉ ⲛϭⲓ ⲛⲉⲧⲛϣⲏⲣⲉ ⲙⲛ ⲛⲉⲧⲛϣⲉⲉⲣⲉ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲛⲧⲉ ⲛⲉⲧⲛϩⲣϣⲓⲣⲉ ⲛⲁⲩ ⲉϩⲉⲛϩⲟⲣⲟⲥⲓⲥ ⲛⲧⲉ ⲛⲉⲧⲛϩⲗⲗⲟ ⲡⲱⲱⲣⲉ ⲛϩⲉⲛⲣⲁⲥⲟⲩ
18 Yes, even on the slaves — for they are mine — both men and women, I will in those days pour out my Spirit, And they shall become Prophets;
ⲓ̅ⲏ̅ⲁⲩⲱ ϯⲛⲁⲡⲱϩⲧ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲙ ⲡⲁⲡⲛⲁ ⲉϩⲣⲁⲓ ⲉϫⲛ ⲛⲁϩⲙϩⲁⲗ ⲛϩⲟⲟⲩⲧ ⲙⲛ ⲛⲁϩⲙϩⲁⲗ ⲛⲥϩⲓⲙⲉ ϩⲛ ⲛⲉϩⲟⲟⲩ ⲉⲧⲙⲙⲁⲩ ⲛⲥⲉⲡⲣⲟⲫⲏⲧⲉⲩⲉ
19 And I will show wonders in the heavens above, And signs on the earth below — Blood and fire and mist of smoke;
ⲓ̅ⲑ̅ⲧⲁϯ ⲛϩⲉⲛⲙⲁⲉⲓⲛ ϩⲣⲁⲓ ϩⲛ ⲧⲡⲉ ⲁⲩⲱ ϩⲉⲛϣⲡⲏⲣⲉ ⲙⲡⲉⲥⲏⲧ ϩⲓϫⲙ ⲡⲕⲁϩ ⲟⲩⲥⲛⲟϥ ⲙⲛ ⲟⲩⲕⲱϩⲧ ⲙⲛ ⲟⲩⲗϩⲱⲃ ⲛⲕⲁⲡⲛⲟⲥ `
20 The sun shall become darkness, And the moon blood-red, Before the Day of the Lord comes — that great and awful day.
ⲕ̅ⲡⲣⲏ ⲛⲁⲕⲧⲟϥ ⲉⲩⲕⲁⲕⲉ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲡⲟⲟϩ ⲉⲩⲥⲛⲟϥ ⲙⲡⲁⲧϥⲉⲓ ⲛϭⲓ ⲡⲉϩⲟⲟⲩ ⲙⲡϫⲟⲉⲓⲥ ⲡⲛⲟϭ ⲉⲧⲟⲩⲟⲛϩ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ
21 Then shall every one who invokes the Name of the Lord be saved.’
ⲕ̅ⲁ̅ⲁⲩⲱ ⲥⲛⲁϣⲱⲡⲉ ⲛⲟⲩⲟⲛ ⲛⲓⲙ ⲉⲧⲛⲁⲱϣ ⲙⲡⲣⲁⲛ ⲙⲡϫⲟⲉⲓⲥ ϥⲛⲁⲟⲩϫⲁⲓ
22 Men of Israel, listen to what I am saying. Jesus of Nazareth, a man whose mission from God to you was proved by miracles, wonders, and signs, which God showed among you through him, as you know full well —
ⲕ̅ⲃ̅ⲛⲣⲱⲙⲉ ⲛⲧⲉ ⲡⲓⲏⲗ ⲥⲱⲧⲙ ⲉⲛⲁϣⲁϫⲉ ⲓⲥ ⲡⲛⲁⲍⲱⲣⲁⲓⲟⲥ ⲟⲩⲣⲱⲙⲉ ⲉⲁⲩⲧⲟϣϥ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲓⲧⲙ ⲡⲛⲟⲩⲧⲉ ⲉϩⲟⲩⲛ ⲉⲣⲱⲧⲛ ϩⲣⲁⲓ ϩⲛ ϩⲉⲛϭⲟⲙ ⲙⲛ ϩⲉⲛⲙⲁⲉⲓⲛ ⲙⲛ ϩⲉⲛϣⲡⲏⲣⲉ ⲛⲁⲓ ⲛⲧⲁⲡⲛⲟⲩⲧⲉ ⲁⲁⲩ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲓⲧⲟⲟⲧϥ ϩⲛ ⲧⲉⲧⲛⲙⲏⲧⲉ ⲕⲁⲧⲁ ⲑⲉ ⲛⲧⲱⲧⲛ ⲉⲧⲉⲧⲛⲥⲟⲟⲩⲛ
23 He, I say, in accordance with God’s definite plan and with his previous knowledge, was betrayed, and you, by the hands of lawless men, nailed him to a cross and put him to death.
ⲕ̅ⲅ̅ⲡⲁⲓ ϩⲙ ⲡϣⲟϫⲛⲉ ⲉⲧⲧⲏϣ ⲙⲛ ⲡⲥⲟⲟⲩⲛ ⲙⲡⲛⲟⲩⲧⲉ ⲁⲧⲉⲧⲛⲧⲁⲁϥ ⲉϩⲣⲁⲓ ⲉⲛϭⲓϫ ⲛⲁⲛⲟⲙⲟⲥ ⲁⲧⲉⲧⲛⲁϣⲧϥ ⲁⲧⲉⲧⲛⲙⲟⲩⲟⲩⲧ ⲙⲙⲟϥ
24 But God released him from the pangs of death and raised him to life, it being impossible for death to retain its hold upon him.
ⲕ̅ⲇ̅ⲡⲁⲓ ⲛⲧⲁⲡⲛⲟⲩⲧⲉ ⲧⲟⲩⲛⲟⲥϥ ⲉⲁϥⲃⲱⲗ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲛⲛⲛⲁⲁⲕⲉ ⲙⲡⲙⲟⲩ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϫⲉ ⲛⲉⲙⲛϣϭⲟⲙ ⲉⲧⲣⲉⲩⲁⲙⲁϩⲧⲉ ⲙⲙⲟϥ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲓⲧⲟⲟⲧϥ
25 Indeed it was to him that David was referring when he said — ‘I have had the Lord ever before my eyes, For he stands at my right hand, that I should not be disquieted.
ⲕ̅ⲉ̅ⲇⲁⲩⲉⲓⲇ ⲅⲁⲣ ϫⲱ ⲙⲙⲟⲥ ⲉϩⲟⲩⲛ ⲉⲣⲟϥ ϫⲉ ⲛⲉⲓⲛⲁⲩ ⲉⲡϫⲟⲉⲓⲥ ⲙⲡⲁⲙⲧⲟ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲛⲟⲩⲟⲉⲓϣ ⲛⲓⲙ ϫⲉ ϥϩⲓ ⲟⲩⲛⲁⲙ ⲙⲙⲟⲓ ϫⲉ ⲛⲛⲁⲕⲓⲙ
26 Therefore my heart was cheered, and my tongue told its delight; Yes, even my body, too, will rest in hope;
ⲕ̅ⲋ̅ⲉⲧⲃⲉ ⲡⲁⲓ ⲁⲡⲁϩⲏⲧ ⲉⲩⲫⲣⲁⲛⲉ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲁⲡⲁⲗⲁⲥ ⲧⲉⲗⲏⲗ ⲉⲧⲓ ⲇⲉ ⲧⲁⲕⲉⲥⲁⲣⲝ ⲛⲁⲟⲩⲱϩ ϩⲛ ⲟⲩϩⲉⲗⲡⲓⲥ
27 For thou wilt not abandon my soul to the Place of Death, Nor surrender me, your holy one, to undergo corruption. (Hadēs g86)
ⲕ̅ⲍ̅ϫⲉ ⲛⲅⲛⲁⲕⲱ ⲛⲥⲱⲕ ⲁⲛ ⲛⲧⲁⲯⲩⲭⲏ ϩⲛ ⲁⲙⲛⲧⲉ ⲟⲩⲇⲉ ⲛⲅⲛⲁϯ ⲁⲛ ⲙⲡⲉⲕⲡⲉⲧⲟⲩⲁⲁⲃ ⲉⲛⲁⲩ ⲉⲡⲧⲁⲕⲟ (Hadēs g86)
28 Thou have shown me the path to life, Thou wilt fill me with gladness in your presence.’
ⲕ̅ⲏ̅ⲁⲕⲟⲩⲱⲛϩ ⲛⲁⲓ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲛⲛⲉϩⲓⲟⲟⲩⲉ ⲙⲡⲱⲛϩ ⲕⲛⲁϫⲟⲕⲧ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲛⲟⲩⲟⲩⲛⲟϥ ⲙⲛ ⲡⲉⲕϩⲟ
29 Brothers, I can speak to you the more confidently about the Patriarch David, because he is dead and buried, and his tomb is here among us to this very day.
ⲕ̅ⲑ̅ⲛⲣⲱⲙⲉ ⲛⲉⲥⲛⲏⲩ ϣϣⲉ ⲉⲧⲣⲉⲛϫⲟⲟⲥ ⲛⲏⲧⲛ ϩⲛ ⲟⲩⲡⲁⲣⲣⲏⲥⲓⲁ ⲉⲧⲃⲉ ⲡⲡⲁⲧⲣⲓⲁⲣⲭⲏⲥ ⲇⲁⲩⲉⲓⲇ ϫⲉ ⲁϥⲙⲟⲩ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲁⲩⲧⲟⲙⲥϥ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲡⲉϥⲙϩⲁⲁⲩ ϣⲟⲟⲡ ⲛϩⲏⲧⲛ ϣⲁϩⲣⲁⲓ̣̈ ⲉⲡⲟⲟⲩ ⲛϩⲟⲟⲩ
30 David, then, Prophet as he was, knowing that God ‘had solemnly sworn to him to set one of his descendants upon his throne,’ looked into the future,
ⲗ̅ⲉⲩⲡⲣⲟⲫⲏⲧⲏⲥ ϭⲉ ⲡⲉ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲉϥⲥⲟⲟⲩⲛ ϫⲉ ϩⲛ ⲟⲩⲁⲛⲁϣ ⲁⲡⲛⲟⲩⲧⲉ ⲱⲣⲕ ⲛⲁϥ ⲉⲑⲙⲥⲟ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲙ ⲡⲕⲁⲣⲡⲟⲥ ⲛⲧⲉϥϯⲡⲉ ⲉϩⲣⲁⲓ ⲉϫⲙ ⲡⲉϥⲑⲣⲟⲛⲟⲥ
31 and referred to the resurrection of the Christ when he said that ‘he had not been abandoned to the Place of Death, nor had his body undergone corruption.’ (Hadēs g86)
ⲗ̅ⲁ̅ⲁϥϣⲣⲡⲉⲓⲙⲉ ⲁϥϣⲁϫⲉ ⲉⲧⲃⲉ ⲧⲁⲛⲁⲥⲧⲁⲥⲓⲥ ⲙⲡⲉⲭⲥ ϫⲉ ⲟⲩⲇⲉ ⲙⲡⲟⲩⲕⲁⲁϥ ϩⲛ ⲁⲙⲛⲧⲉ ⲟⲩⲇⲉ ⲙⲡⲉⲧⲉϥⲥⲁⲣⲝ ⲛⲁⲩ ⲉⲡⲧⲁⲕⲟ (Hadēs g86)
32 It was this Jesus, whom God raised to life; and of that we are ourselves all witnesses.
ⲗ̅ⲃ̅ⲡⲁⲓ ⲡⲉ ⲓⲥ ⲡⲉⲛⲧⲁⲡⲛⲟⲩⲧⲉ ⲧⲟⲩⲛⲟⲥϥ ⲡⲁⲓ ⲉⲛϣⲟⲟⲡ ⲛⲁϥ ⲧⲏⲣⲛ ⲙⲙⲛⲧⲣⲉ
33 And now that he has been exalted to the right hand of God, and has received from the Father the promised gift of the Holy Spirit, he has begun to pour out that gift, as you yourselves now see and hear.
ⲗ̅ⲅ̅ⲉⲁϥϫⲓⲥⲉ ϭⲉ ⲉϩⲣⲁⲓ ϩⲛ ⲧⲟⲩⲛⲁⲙ ⲙⲡⲛⲟⲩⲧⲉ ⲁϥϫⲓ ⲙⲡⲉⲣⲏⲧ ⲙⲡⲉⲡⲛⲁ ⲉⲧⲟⲩⲁⲁⲃ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲓⲧⲙ ⲡⲉⲓⲱⲧ ⲁϥⲡⲱϩⲧ ⲙⲡⲉⲓⲧⲁⲓⲟ ⲡⲁⲓ ⲛⲧⲱⲧⲛ ⲉⲧⲉⲧⲛⲛⲁⲩ ⲉⲣⲟϥ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲉⲧⲉⲧⲛⲥⲱⲧⲙ
34 It was not David who went up into Heaven; for he himself says — ‘The Lord said to my master: “Sit on my right hand,
ⲗ̅ⲇ̅ⲇⲁⲩⲉⲓⲇ ⲅⲁⲣ ⲁⲛ ⲡⲉⲛⲧⲁϥⲃⲱⲕ ⲉϩⲣⲁⲓ ⲉⲙⲡⲏⲩⲉ ϥϫⲱ ⲇⲉ ⲙⲙⲟⲥ ⲛⲧⲟϥ ϫⲉ ⲡⲉϫⲉ ⲡϫⲟⲉⲓⲥ ⲙⲡⲁϫⲟⲉⲓⲥ ϫⲉ ϩⲙⲟⲟⲥ ⲛⲥⲁ ⲟⲩⲛⲁⲙ ⲙⲙⲟⲓ
35 Till I put your enemies as a footstool under thy feet.”’
ⲗ̅ⲉ̅ϣⲁⲛϯⲕⲱ ⲛⲛⲉⲕϫⲁϫⲉ ⲛϩⲩⲡⲟⲡⲟⲇⲓⲟⲛ ⲛⲛⲉⲕⲟⲩⲉⲣⲏⲧⲉ
36 So let the whole nation of Israel know beyond all doubt, that God has made him both Lord and Christ — this very Jesus whom you crucified.”
ⲗ̅ⲋ̅ϩⲛ ⲟⲩⲱⲣϫ ϭⲉ ⲙⲁⲣⲉϥⲉⲓⲙⲉ ⲛϭⲓ ⲡⲏⲓ ⲧⲏⲣϥ ⲙⲡⲓⲏⲗ ϫⲉ ⲁⲡⲛⲟⲩⲧⲉ ⲁⲁϥ ⲛϫⲟⲉⲓⲥ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲛⲭⲣⲏⲥⲧⲟⲥ ⲡⲁⲓ ⲡⲉ ⲓⲥ ⲡⲉⲛⲧⲁⲧⲉⲧⲛⲥⳁⲟⲩ ⲙⲙⲟϥ
37 When the people heard this, they were conscience-smitten, and said to Peter and the rest of the Apostles: “Brothers, what can we do?”
ⲗ̅ⲍ̅ⲛⲧⲉⲣⲟⲩⲥⲱⲧⲙ ⲇⲉ ⲉⲛⲁⲓ ⲁⲩⲙⲕⲁϩ ⲙⲡⲉⲩϩⲏⲧ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲡⲉϫⲁⲩ ⲙⲡⲉⲧⲣⲟⲥ ⲙⲛ ⲡⲕⲉⲥⲉⲉⲡⲉ ⲛⲁⲡⲟⲥⲧⲟⲗⲟⲥ ϫⲉ ⲟⲩ ⲡⲉⲧⲛⲛⲁⲁϥ ⲛⲣⲱⲙⲉ ⲛⲉⲥⲛⲏⲩ
38 “Repent,” answered Peter, “and be baptized every one of you in the Faith of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins; and then you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.
ⲗ̅ⲏ̅ⲡⲉⲧⲣⲟⲥ ⲇⲉ ⲡⲉϫⲁϥ ⲛⲁⲩ ϫⲉ ⲙⲉⲧⲁⲛⲟⲓ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲙⲁⲣⲉⲡⲟⲩⲁ ⲡⲟⲩⲁ ⲙⲙⲱⲧⲛϫⲓ ⲃⲁⲡⲧⲓⲥⲙⲁ ⲉⲡⲣⲁⲛ ⲙⲡϫⲟⲉⲓⲥ ⲓⲥ ⲡⲉⲭⲥ ⲉⲡⲕⲱ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲛⲛⲉⲧⲛⲛⲟⲃⲉ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲧⲉⲧⲛⲁϫⲓ ⲛⲧⲇⲱⲣⲉⲁ ⲙⲡⲉⲓⲡⲛⲁ ⲉⲧⲟⲩⲁⲁⲃ
39 For the promise is for you and for your children, and also for all those now far away, who may be called by the Lord our God.”
ⲗ̅ⲑ̅ⲉⲣⲉⲡⲉⲣⲏⲧ ⲅⲁⲣ ϣⲟⲟⲡ ⲛⲏⲧⲛ ⲙⲛ ⲛⲉⲧⲛϣⲏⲣⲉ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲟⲩⲟⲛ ⲛⲓⲙ ⲉⲧⲙⲡⲟⲩⲉ ⲛⲁⲓ ⲉⲧⲉⲣⲉⲡϫⲟⲉⲓⲥ ⲡⲉⲛⲛⲟⲩⲧⲉ ⲛⲁⲧⲁϩⲙⲟⲩ
40 With many other words Peter enforced his teaching, while the burden of his exhortations was — “Save yourselves from the perverse spirit of this age.”
ⲙ̅ϩⲣⲁⲓ ⲇⲉ ϩⲛ ϩⲉⲛⲕⲉⲙⲏⲏϣⲉ ⲛϣⲁϫⲉ ⲛⲉϥⲣⲙⲛⲧⲣⲉ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲛⲉϥⲥⲟⲡⲥ ⲙⲙⲟⲟⲩ ⲉϥϫⲱ ⲙⲙⲟⲥ ϫⲉ ⲟⲩϫⲁⲓ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲛ ⲧⲉⲓⲅⲉⲛⲉⲁ ⲉⲧϭⲟⲟⲙⲉ
41 So those who accepted his teaching were baptized, and about three thousand people joined the disciples on that day alone.
ⲙ̅ⲁ̅ⲛⲉⲛⲧⲁⲩϣⲱⲡ ϭⲉ ⲉⲣⲟⲟⲩ ⲙⲡⲉϥϣⲁϫⲉ ⲁⲩϫⲓ ⲃⲁⲡⲧⲓⲥⲙⲁ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲁⲩⲟⲩⲱϩ ⲉⲣⲟⲟⲩ ⲙⲡⲉϩⲟⲟⲩ ⲉⲧⲙⲙⲁⲩ ⲛϭⲓ ⲁϣⲙⲧϣⲟ ⲙⲯⲩⲭⲏ
42 They devoted themselves to the teaching of the Apostles and to the Common Life of the Church, to the Breaking of the Bread and to the Prayers.
ⲙ̅ⲃ̅ⲛⲉⲩϣⲟⲟⲡ ⲇⲉ ⲡⲉ ⲉⲩⲡⲣⲟⲥⲕⲁⲣⲧⲉⲣⲓ ⲉⲧⲉⲥⲃⲱ ⲛⲁⲡⲟⲥⲧⲟⲗⲟⲥ ⲙⲛ ⲧⲕⲟⲓⲛⲱⲛⲓⲁ ⲙⲡⲡⲱϣ ⲙⲡⲟⲉⲓⲕ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲛⲉϣⲗⲏⲗ
43 A deep impression was made upon every one, and many wonders and signs were done at the hands of the Apostles.
ⲙ̅ⲅ̅ⲟⲩⲛⲟϭ ⲛϩⲟⲧⲉ ⲁⲥϣⲱⲡⲉ ⲉϩⲣⲁⲓ ⲉϫⲙ ⲯⲩⲭⲏ ⲛⲓⲙ ϩⲁϩ ⲅⲁⲣ ⲙⲙⲁⲉⲓⲛ ϩⲓ ϣⲡⲏⲣⲉ ⲛⲉⲩϣⲱⲡⲉ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲓⲧⲟⲟⲧⲟⲩ ⲛⲁⲡⲟⲥⲧⲟⲗⲟⲥ
44 All who became believers in Christ held everything for the common use;
ⲙ̅ⲇ̅ⲟⲩⲟⲛ ⲇⲉ ⲛⲓⲙ ⲛⲧⲁⲩⲡⲓⲥⲧⲉⲩⲉ ⲛⲉⲩϣⲟⲟⲡ ⲡⲉ ⲙⲛ ⲛⲉⲩⲉⲣⲏⲩ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲉⲣⲉⲛⲕⲁ ⲛⲓⲙ ϣⲟⲟⲡ ⲛⲁⲩ ϩⲓ ⲟⲩⲥⲟⲡ
45 they sold their property and their goods, and shared the proceeds among them all, according to their individual needs.
ⲙ̅ⲉ̅ⲁⲩⲱ ⲛⲉⲩϭⲟⲟⲙ ⲙⲛ ⲛⲉⲩϩⲩⲡⲁⲣⲭⲟⲛⲧⲁ ⲛⲉⲩϯ ⲙⲙⲟⲟⲩ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲛⲉⲩⲧⲱϣ ⲙⲙⲟⲟⲩ ⲉϫⲛ ⲟⲩⲟⲛ ⲛⲓⲙ ⲕⲁⲧⲁ ⲑⲉ ⲉⲧⲉⲣⲉⲡⲟⲩⲁ ⲡⲟⲩⲁ ⲣⲭⲣⲓⲁ ⲙⲙⲟⲥ
46 Every day they devoted themselves to meeting together in the Temple Courts, and to the Breaking of Bread at their homes, while they partook of their food in simple-hearted gladness, praising God, and winning the good-will of all the people.
ⲙ̅ⲋ̅ⲙⲙⲏⲛⲉ ⲇⲉ ⲛⲉⲩⲡⲣⲟⲥⲕⲁⲣⲧⲉⲣⲓ ϩⲓ ⲟⲩⲥⲟⲡ ϩⲙ ⲡⲉⲣⲡⲉ ⲁⲩⲱ ϩⲙ ⲡⲏⲓ ⲉⲩⲡⲱϣ ⲙⲡⲟⲉⲓⲕ ⲉⲩϫⲓ ⲛⲟⲩⲧⲣⲟⲫⲏ ϩⲛ ⲟⲩⲧⲉⲗⲏⲗ ⲙⲛ ⲧⲙⲛⲧϩⲁⲡⲗⲟⲩⲥ ⲛⲧⲉ ⲡⲉⲩϩⲏⲧ
47 And the Lord daily added to their company those who were in the path of Salvation.
ⲙ̅ⲍ̅ⲉⲩⲥⲙⲟⲩ ⲉⲡⲛⲟⲩⲧⲉ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲉⲩⲛⲧⲟⲩ ⲭⲁⲣⲓⲥ ⲙⲙⲁⲩ ⲛⲛⲁϩⲣⲙ ⲡⲗⲁⲟⲥ ⲧⲏⲣϥ ⲡϫⲟⲉⲓⲥ ⲇⲉ ⲛⲉϥⲟⲩⲱϩ ⲉⲣⲟⲟⲩ ⲛⲛⲉⲧⲛⲁⲟⲩϫⲁⲓ ⲙⲙⲏⲛⲉ ϩⲓ ⲟⲩⲥⲟⲡ
