2 John 1
1 To an eminent Christian Lady, and to her Children, from the Officer of the Church. I sincerely love you all, and not I only, but also all those who have learned to know the Truth.
Le vieillard à la dame Electe et à ses enfants que j’aime dans la vérité, et non pas moi seul, mais aussi tous ceux qui connaissent la vérité,
2 We love you for the sake of that Truth which is always in our hearts; yes, and it will be ours for ever. (aiōn g165)
À cause de la vérité qui demeure en nous, et qui sera avec nous éternellement. (aiōn g165)
3 Blessing, mercy, and peace will be ours — the gift of God, the Father, and of Jesus Christ, the Father’s Son — in a life of truth and love.
Qu’avec vous soit grâce, miséricorde, paix par Dieu le Père, et par Jésus-Christ, Fils du Père, dans la vérité et la charité.
4 It was a great joy to me to find the lives of some of your children guided by the Truth, in obedience to the command that we received from the Father.
J’ai eu beaucoup de joie de trouver de vos enfants marchant dans la vérité, comme nous en avons reçu le commandement du Père.
5 And now, I pray you, Lady — not as though I were writing a new command for you; no, it is the command which we had from the first — Let us love one another.
Et maintenant je vous prie, madame, non comme vous écrivant un commandement nouveau, mais celui que nous avons reçu dès le commencement, que nous nous aimions les uns les autres.
6 And this is love — to live in obedience to the Father’s commands. This is the Command as you learned from the first, to live in a spirit of love.
Or la charité c’est de marcher selon les commandements de Dieu; et c’est là le commandement que vous avez reçu dès le commencement, afin que vous y marchiez.
7 I say this because many impostors have left us to go into the world — men who do not acknowledge Jesus as Christ come in our human nature. It is that which marks a man as an impostor and an anti-Christ.
Car beaucoup d’imposteurs se sont introduits dans le monde, lesquels ne confessent pas que Jésus-Christ soit venu dans la chair; ceux-là sont les imposteurs et les Antéchrists.
8 Take care that you do not lose the fruit of all our work; rather, reap the benefit of it in full.
Veillez sur vous-mêmes afin que vous ne perdiez pas votre travail, mais que vous en receviez pleine récompense.
9 Every one who goes beyond the limits of the Teaching of the Christ has failed to find God; the man who keeps to that Teaching — he has found both the Father and the Son.
Quiconque se retire et ne demeure point dans la doctrine du Christ ne possède point Dieu; quiconque demeure dans sa doctrine, celui-là possède le Père et le Fils.
10 If any one comes to you and does not bring this Teaching, do not receive him into your house or welcome him;
Si quelqu’un vient à vous et n’apporte point cette doctrine, ne le recevez pas dans votre maison, ne lui dites pas même SALUT.
11 for the man who welcomes him is sharing with him in his wicked work.
Car celui qui lui dit SALUT communique à ses œuvres mauvaises.
12 Though I have a great deal to say to you, I would rather not trust it to paper and ink, but I am hoping to come and see you, and to speak with you face to face, so that your joy may be complete.
Ayant plusieurs autre choses à vous écrire, je n’ai pas voulu le faire avec du papier et de l’encre; car j’espère être bientôt près de vous, et vous parler de bouche à bouche, afin que votre joie soit pleine.
13 The children of your eminent sister send you their greetings.
Les enfants de votre sœur Electe vous saluent.
