< 1 Peter 4 >
1 Since, then, Christ suffered in body, arm yourselves with the same resolve as he; for he who has suffered in body has ceased to sin,
Kristo ah hansi ni echam eta thoidoh, sen uh hansi nah cham suh emamah tenthun nah sen teenuh teewah rongkopkop ang an; mamah liidi o mina hansi ni chamla heh rangdah ni takah angka.
2 and so will live the rest of his earthly life guided, not by human passions, but by the will of God.
Erah raangtaan ih, amah dowa ih, arah hah adoh sen roidong mathan ang ah Rangte tenthun jun ih angtheng mina tenthun jun ih lah ang ah.
3 Surely in the past you have spent time enough living as the Gentiles delight to live. For your path has lain among scenes of debauchery, licentiousness, drunkenness, revelry, hard-drinking, and profane idolatry.
Jaakhoni, rangnak mih ih seechoha reerang pakna ah reekamdook ih reeraang tan. Sen loong roidong ah lalangka ni, lup aleek ni, khojok khamjok ni, sen tiimre thung angtan erah reetan, khamjok theng ni, nyia mih ih choongja theng tongmih ah soomtu tan.
4 And, because you do not run to the same extremes of profligacy as others, they are astonished, and malign you.
Aanoobah rangnak mih loong damdi erah likhiik lam ni lakah roong khoom kokan no paatja ih rumla, erah thoidi sen loong ah thaangju ih halan.
5 But they will have to answer for their conduct to him who is ready to judge both the living and the dead.
Enoothong ething tekmang loongtang dandeete Rangte ah neng dande suh bantongla, neng ih maama teenuh teewah tiit ah Rangte suh ebaat etheng ang ah.
6 For that was why the Good News was told to the dead also — that, after they have been judged in the body, as men are judged, they might live in the spirit, as God lives.
Erah raangtaan ih tekchoi loong asuh nep Ruurang Ese tiit ah baattaan dowa, tiimnge liidi hansi ni thingtongla ah mina jun in dande suh eno Rangte thingtongla ah likhiik chiiala nah toom thingtong rum ah ngeh ih baattaan dowa.
7 But the end of all things is near. Therefore exercise self-restraint and be calm, that you may be able to pray.
Jirep thoon suh ethok nanah ehala. Maama teenuh teewah ah rapniine ih soksam anno rangsoom nah ban tong an.
8 Above all things, let your love for one another be earnest, for ‘Love throws a veil over countless sins.’
Thoontang nang ih elong ah langla, wasiit ih wasiit rapniine ih minchan theng, tiimnge liidi minchan ih rangdah hantek hoppat ha.
9 Never grudge hospitality to one another.
Laliilaangmui thang ih sen nok senpung nah emah khookham kotmui an.
10 Whatever the gift that each has received, use it in the service of others, as good stewards of the varied bounty of God.
Phanhoomte loong suh jirep jaatrep ni Rangte ih heh lakkot jun ih koha likhiik, wareprep ih Rangte lakkot ah mihoh ese ang raangtaan ih maak theng.
11 When any one speaks, let him speak as one who is delivering the oracles of God. When any one is endeavouring to serve others, let him do so in reliance on the strength which God supplies; so that in everything God may be honour ed through Jesus Christ — to whom be ascribed all honour and might for ever and ever. Amen. (aiōn )
O ih tiitkhaap baat ha, heh ih Rangte tiitkhaap baat theng; o suh jen sokboi theng ranglakkot koha, erah loong ah ih Rangte ih chaan koha jun ih sokboi theng, tiimnge liidi Jisu Kristo jun ih jirep adoh Rangte phoongpha thuk theng, rangka nyia chaan aphaan saarookwet heh raangtaan: Amen. (aiōn )
12 Dear friends, do not be astonished at the fiery trials that you are passing through, to test you, as though something strange were happening to you.
Joon awaan loong, mabah uh lathaak cham kan ah rapne ih cham lan, erah raangtaan ih nak paatja an.
13 No, the more you share the sufferings of the Christ, the more may you rejoice, that, when the time comes for the manifestation of his Glory, you may rejoice and exult.
Erah nang ebah Kristo chamnaang loong ah roonghui hi ngeh ih eroon ih an, tiimnge liidi heh rangka dongjatja sen loong ah eliin roon ih an.
14 If you are reviled for bearing the name of Christ, count yourselves blessed; because the divine Glory and the Spirit of God are resting upon you.
Sen loong juuba tenroon Kristo liphante ang thoidi kaanju halan bah ah; erah langla, Rangte Chiiala marah rangka theng Chiiala ah sen sak ni eje.
15 I need hardly say that no one among you must suffer as a murderer, or a thief, or a criminal, or for interfering in matters which do not concern Christians.
Sen loong dung dowa o chamnaang an bah uh, mitek haatte thoidoh, ehuh thoidoh, milajak, adoleh mih chamchi nah mih phaanghoom thoidoh ba naktoom ang ah.
16 But, if a man suffers as a Christian, do not let him be ashamed of it; let him bring honour to God even though he bears that name.
Enoothong, Kristaan mina hoonthoi doh cham anbah, nak rakrek theng, erah nang ebah Kristo thoilam di cham raangtaan ih Rangte suh lakookmi li an.
17 For the time has come for judgment to begin with the House of God; and, if it begins with us, what will be the end of those who reject God’s Good News?
Phang dande saapoot ah ethok ih hala, eno Rangte mina loong ah jaakhoh dande ah. Seng phang dande heebah, liwang nah Rangte jiin nawa Ruurang Ese tiit ah lahanpiite loong ah mamah ang ah?
18 If ‘a good man is saved only with difficulty, what will become of the godless and the sinful?’
Rangteele ni liiha, “Mina ese loong ah pui suh echaan ang ah; emah ang abah rangte lajeete rangdah mina loong ah mamah ang ah?”
19 Therefore, I say, let those who suffer, because God wills it so, commit their lives into the hands of a faithful Creator, and persevere in doing right.
Erah raangtaan ih, Rangte tenthun jun ih o chamnaangla, mootse kaatse mokaroh ih ano neng teenuh teewah roidong ah neng Dongsiitte suh kottheng; heh ih saarookwet heh kakham ah thiinroh eha.
