< 1 Peter 3 >

1 Again, you married women should submit to your husbands, so that if any of them reject the Message, they may, apart from the Message, be won over, by the conduct of their wives,
Matou asumna, yum pallabi nupi oibisa, nakhoi nakhoigi napuroibasinggi makha pollu, adu oirabadi Tengban Mapugi waheibu thajadaba kanagumba mapuroiba leirabadi, wahei amata hairuba toudana nakhoigi nachat natouna makhoibu thajahanba ngamgani,
2 as they watch your submissive and blameless conduct.
maramdi nakhoina Tengban Mapubu kibaga loinana asengba lamchat chatpa adu makhoina ugani.
3 Yours should be, not the external adornment of the arrangement of the hair, the wearing of jewellery, or the putting on of dresses,
Nakhoigi leitengda mapanthonggi oiba haibadi sam lonba, nattraga sana lupa siba nattraga phijet leitengna oihan-ganu.
4 but the inner life with the imperishable beauty of a quiet and gentle spirit; for this is very precious in God’s sight.
Madugi mahutta nakhoigi thammoi nunggi oiba phajaba, pukning tappa amasung pukning ingbagi mangba leitaba phajaba aduna leiteng-u, masi Tengban Mapugi mityengda yamna mamal yambani.
5 It was by this that the holy women of old, who rested their hopes on God, adorned themselves; submitting to their husbands,
Maramdi mamangngeida Tengban Mapuda makhoigi asa thamjabi asengbi nupisingnasu makhoigi mapuroibagi makha ponna leiduna makhoi masabu leitengjarammi.
6 as Sarah did, who obeyed Abraham, and called him master. And you are her true children, as long as you live good lives, and let nothing terrify you.
Sarah-su adugumba ama oirammi; mahakna Abraham-gi haiba induna mahakpu Ibungo haina koujarammi. Nakhoina aphaba touraba amadi karigumba amatabu kidrabadi, nakhoi mahakki machanupising oire.
7 Again, those of you who are married men should live considerately with their wives, showing due regard to their sex, as weaker than their own, and not forgetting that they share with you in the gift of Life. Then you will be able to pray without hindrance.
Mapuroibasa, matou asumna nakhoigi nupisingga wakhal taminnana panminnou, makhoidi henna sonba mapang ama oina amadi nahakka punna hingbagi Tengban Mapugi khudol phangminnagadaba ama oina makhoibu ikai khumnou, madu oirabadi karigumba amatana nakhoigi haijabada apanba oihalloi.
8 Lastly, you should all be united, sympathetic, full of brotherly love, kind-hearted, humble-minded;
Aroiba oina, nakhoi pumnamak pukning amata oiyu, nungsibibagi wakhal thammu, amaga amaga nungsinou, minungsi leiyu amadi nolukpa oiyu.
9 never returning evil for evil, or abuse for abuse, but, on the contrary, blessing. It was to this that you were called — to obtain a blessing!
Phattabagidamak phattaba han-ganu, ikaiba pibagidamak hanna ikaiba piganu. Madugi mahutta phattabagidamak bor oina hallu, maramdi nakhoina bor phangnabagidamak nakhoibu masigidamak koubire.
10 ‘He who would enjoy life And see happy days — Let him keep his tongue from evil And his lips from deceitful words,
Mapugi puyana asumna hai, “Punsibu nungsiba amasung aphaba numitpu uba pamba makhoi aduna, makhoina phattaba ngangba amasung oidaba ngangba tokkadabani.
11 let him turn from evil and do good, Let him seek for peace and follow after it;
Makhoina phattabadagi leithoklaktuna aphaba tougadabani; nakhoina ingthaba thiduna madu tanagadabani.
12 For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous, And his ears are attentive to their prayers, But the face of the Lord is set against those who do wrong.’
Maramdi MAPU IBUNGO-gi mit achumba chatpasinggi mathakta yengduna lei aduga makhoina haijaba adu tabi, adubu Mapu Ibungogi maithongdi phattaba toubasinggi maiyokta lei.”
13 Who, indeed, is there to harm you, if you prove yourselves to be eager for what is good?
Nakhoina aphaba tounabagidamak khouranglabadi, kanana nakhoida mangnaba tougadouribano?
14 Even if you should suffer for righteousness, count yourselves blessed! ‘Do not let men terrify you, or allow yourselves to be dismayed.’
Adubu nakhoina aphaba toubagidamak awa khaanglabadi nakhoi yaiphabani. Kanabusu kiganu amasung pukning waganu.
15 Revere the Christ as Lord in your hearts; always ready to give an answer to any one who asks your reason for the hope that you cherish, but giving it humbly and in all reverence,
Adubu nakhoigi thamoi nungda Christtabu Mapu Ibungoni haina ikai khumnou. Nakhoida leiriba asa adugi maramda kanagumbana nakhoida hanglabadi, paokhum pinaba matam pumnamakta thourang touduna leiyu. Adubu pukning tappa amasung ikai khumnabaga loinana tou,
16 and keeping your consciences clear, so that, whenever you are maligned, those who vilify your good and Christian conduct may be put to shame.
aphaba achum aran khangba pukning adu sengna thammu, adu oirabadi Christtada leiba nakhoigi aphaba nachat natou adubu phattana ngangliba makhoi aduna nakhoigi mangnaba ngangba adugidamak ikaijagani.
17 It is better that you should suffer, if that should be God’s will, for doing right, than for doing wrong.
Maramdi masi Tengban Mapugi aningba oirabadi, aphaba toubagi awaba khaangbana phattaba toubagi awaba khaangbadagi henna phei.
18 For Christ himself died to atone for sins once for all — the good on behalf of the bad — that he might bring you to God; his body being put to death, but his spirit entering upon new Life.
Maramdi Christtana papkidamak amuktang sibikhre, achumba chatpa mahakna achumba chattabasinggi mahutta, madu nakhoibu Tengban Mapugi maphamda pubinabani. Mahak hakchangda hatkhibani adubu Thawaida hinghanbire,
19 And it was then that he went and preached to the imprisoned spirits,
Hinggat-hallaba matungda, mahakna keisumsangda leiba thawaisinggi manakta chattuna laothoklammi.
20 who once were disobedient, at the time when God patiently waited, in the days of Noah, while the ark was being prepared; in which some few lives, eight in all, were saved by means of water.
Makhoising adu mamangngeida Noah-gi haktakta hijao adu sagatlingeida Tengban Mapugi kuina khaangbiba aduna ngaibiramba matamda haiba inkhidaba thawaising aduni. Hi adugi manungda mi kharatabu, haibadi punna mi nipan isingdagi kanbikhi,
21 And baptism, which this foreshadowed, now saves you — not the mere cleansing of the body, but the search of a clear conscience after God — through the resurrection of Jesus Christ,
ising asi houjik nakhoibusu kanbiba Baptize touba adugi pandamni. Madu hakchangdagi amotpa louthokpa natte adubu Tengban Mapugi maphamda asengba achum aran khangba pukningdagi pijaba wasakni. Jisu Christtana sibadagi hinggatkhibagi maram aduna nakhoibu kanbibani,
22 who has gone into Heaven, and is at God’s right hand, where Angels and Archangels and the Powers of Heaven now yield submission to him.
Ibungo mahakti swargada lengkhattuna Tengban Mapugi yetthangbada leiri, swargadutsing, angambasing amasung panggalabasingna mahakki makha ponduna lei.
