< 1 John 3 >
1 Think what love the Father has shown us in allowing us to be called ‘Children of God’; as indeed we are. The reason why the world does not know us is that it has not learned to know him.
2 Dear friends, we are God’s Children now; what we shall be has not yet been revealed. What we do know is that, when it is revealed, we shall be like Christ; because we shall see him as he is.
Mwet kawuk saok luk, inge kut tulik nutin God, tusruktu soenna kalem lah kut ac mwet fuka tok. A kut etu lah ke Christ el ac sikme, kut ac fah oana el, mweyen kut ac fah liyal ke lumahl na pwaye.
3 And every one who has this hope with regard to Christ tries to make himself pure — as Christ is pure.
Mwet nukewa ma oasr finsrak la ouinge in Christ, ac fah sifacna karinganang moul lalos in nasnas, oana ke Christ el nasnas.
4 Every one who lives sinfully is living in violation of Law. Sin is violation of Law.
Kutena mwet su orekma koluk, oasr mwatal ke kunausla ma sap lun God, mweyen ma koluk uh lain ma sap.
5 And you know that Christ appeared to take away our sins; and in him Sin has no place.
Kowos etu lah Christ el tuku in usla ma koluk lun mwet uh, ac wangin ma koluk in el.
6 No one who maintains union with him lives in sin; no one who lives in sin has ever really seen him or learned to know him.
Ouinge kutena mwet su kupasryang nu yurin Christ el ac fah tia tafwelana in oru ma koluk; a kutena mwet su nuna oru na ma koluk el soenna liyal ku etal.
7 My Children, do not let any one mislead you. He who lives righteously is righteous — as Christ is righteous.
Tulik nutik, kowos in tia lela tuh kutena mwet in kiapekowosla!
8 He who lives sinfully belongs to the Devil, for the Devil has sinned from the first. It was for this that the Son of God appeared, that he might undo the Devil’s work.
9 No one who has received the new Life from God lives sinfully, because the very nature of God dwells within him; and he cannot live in sin, because he has received the new Life from God.
Na ke sripen God El Papa tumal, el tia ku in srakna orekma koluk.
10 By this the Children of God are distinguished from the Children of the Devil — No one who lives unrighteously comes from God, and especially the man who does not love his Brother.
Arulana kalem ekla inmasrlon tulik nutin God ac tulik nutin Devil. Kutena mwet su tia oru ma suwohs ku tia lungse mwet wial, el tia tulik nutin God.
11 For these are the Tidings that we heard from the first — that we are to love one another.
Pa inge mwe luti su kowos lohng ke mutawauk me: kut enenu in lungse sie sin sie.
12 We must not be like Cain, who belonged to the Evil One and killed his brother. And why did he kill him? It was because his life was bad while his brother’s was good.
13 Do not wonder, Brothers, if the world hates you.
Ouinge, mwet lulalfongi wiuk, kowos in tia lut mwet faclu fin srungakowos.
14 We know that we have passed out of Death into Life, because we love our Brothers. The man who does not love remains in a state of Death.
Kut etu lah kut som liki misa tari ac utyak nu in moul, mweyen kut lungse mwet wiasr in lulalfongi.
15 Every one who hates his Brother is a murderer; and you know that no murderer has Immortal Life within him. (aiōnios )
Kutena mwet su srunga mwet wial, el sie mwet akmas, ac kowos etu lah moul ma pahtpat wangin yorolos su akmas. (aiōnios )
16 We have learned to know what love is from this — that Christ laid down his life on our behalf. Therefore we also ought to lay down our lives on behalf of our Brothers.
Ma se oru kut in etu lah mea se lungse uh pa inge: Christ el sifacna asang moul lal kacsr, ke ma inge fal kut in asang pac moul lasr ke mwet wiasr uh!
17 But, if any one has worldly possessions, and yet looks on while his Brother is in want, and steels his heart against him, how can it be said that the love of God is within him?
Fin oasr sunun mwe kasrup lun faclu yurin sie mwet, ac el liye lah oasr enenu lun sie mwet lulalfongi wial, a el kaliya insial nu sel, na kalem lah lungse lun God tia oasr in el!
18 My children, do not let our love be mere words, or end in talk; let it be true and show itself in acts.
Tulik nutik, lungse lasr uh in tia mwe na kaskas ku sramsram; enenu in lungse na pwaye su kalem ke orekma lasr.
19 By that we shall know that we are on the side of the Truth; and we shall satisfy ourselves in God’s sight,
Fin ouinge, kut ac etu lah kut ma lun ma su pwaye, ac pa inge ma ac akpulaikye insiasr ke kut ac fah tu ye mutun God.
20 that if our conscience condemns us, yet God is greater than our conscience and knows everything.
Ma kut pulakin ke insiasr na pwaye uh fin akkolukye kut, kut etu lah God El fulat liki nunak lun insiasr, ac El etu ma nukewa.
21 Dear friends, if our conscience does not condemn us, then we approach God with confidence,
Ouinge, mwet kawuk saok luk, ma kut pulakin insiasr uh fin tia akkolukye kut, ac oasr pulaik lasr ye mutun God.
22 and we receive from him whatever we ask, because we are laying his commands to heart, and are doing what is pleasing in his sight.
Kutena ma kut siyuk sin God kac El ase nu sesr, mweyen kut akos ma El sapkin, ac oru ma El insewowo kac.
23 His Command is this — that we should put our trust in the Name of his Son, Jesus Christ, and love one another, in accordance with the Command that he gave us.
Ma El sapkin uh pa kut in lulalfongi Jesus Christ, Wen natul, ac lungse sie sin sie, oana ke Christ el sapkin nu sesr.
24 And he who lays his commands to heart maintains union with Christ, and Christ with him. And by this we know that Christ maintains union with us — by our possession of the Spirit which he gave us.
Kutena mwet su akos ma God El sapkin uh fah kupasryang nu sin God, ac God El fah muta yorol. Ac kut etu lah God El muta in kut ke sripen Ngun su El ase nu sesr.
