Zechariah 6
1 I looked up again, and [in the vision] I saw four chariots coming toward me. [They were coming] between two mountains [that were made] of bronze.
Et de nouveau je levai les yeux et je regardai, et voici quatre chars qui partaient d'entre deux montagnes, et les montagnes étaient des montagnes d'airain.
2 The first chariot [was pulled by] red horses, the second chariot [was pulled by] black horses,
Au premier char étaient des chevaux rouges, et au second char des chevaux noirs,
3 the third chariot [was pulled by] white horses, and the fourth chariot [was pulled by] spotted gray horses. They were all very strong horses.
et au troisième char des chevaux blancs, et au quatrième char des chevaux tachetés, vigoureux.
4 I asked the angel who had been speaking to me, “Sir, what do those chariots mean?”
Et je pris la parole et dis à l'ange qui parlait avec moi:
5 The angel replied, “They have come from standing in the presence of the Lord who controls/rules the entire earth. They will go across the sky in four directions.
Qu'est-ce, mon Seigneur? Et l'ange répondit et me dit: Ce sont les quatre vents des Cieux qui sortent après avoir pris les ordres du Seigneur de toute la terre.
6 The chariot [pulled by] black horses will go north, the [one pulled by] white horses will go west, the one [pulled by] spotted gray horses will go south.”
Les chevaux noirs attelés à l'un partirent pour le pays du nord, et les blancs partirent après eux, et les tachetés partirent pour le pays du midi.
7 When those powerful horses left, their [chariot-drivers] were eager to go throughout the world. [As they were leaving, ] the angel said to them, “Go throughout the world [and see what is happening]!” So that is what they did.
Et les rouges partirent et demandèrent à parcourir la terre. Et il dit: Allez, parcourez la terre! Et ils parcoururent la terre.
8 Then the angel called to me [and said], “Look/Listen, the [drivers of the] chariots that have gone north will do what the Spirit [of Yahweh wants them to do] there.”
Et il m'interpella et me parla en disant: Vois, ceux qui partent pour le pays du nord, font reposer ma colère sur le pays du nord.
9 Then Yahweh gave me [another] message.
Et la parole de l'Éternel me fut adressée en ces mots:
10 He said, “Heldai, Tobijah, and Jedaiah will be bringing some silver and gold from the people who were (exiled in/forced to go to) Babylon. As soon as they arrive, go to the house of Josiah the son of Zephaniah.
Accepte de la part des captifs, Heldaï, Tobie et Jédaïa (et en ce même jour va, va dans la maison de Josias, fils de Sophonie, où ils sont descendus en arrivant de Babel)
11 Take [some of that] silver and gold from them and make a crown. Then put it on the head of Jehozadak’s son Joshua, the Supreme Priest.
accepte, [dis-je], de l'argent et de l'or et en fais des couronnes, et pose-les sur la tête de Josué, fils de Jéhotsadak, grand sacrificateur,
12 Tell him that [I], the Commander of the armies of angels, say that the man who is called the Branch will come. He will leave the place where he is now, and he will [supervise those who] build my temple.
et dis-lui: Ainsi parle l'Éternel des armées: Voici, un homme dont le nom est Germe et qui croîtra sur son lieu même, bâtira le temple de l'Éternel.
13 He is the one who [will tell those who] will build my temple [what to do]. He will wear royal clothing and he will sit on his throne and rule. There will also be a priest [sitting] next to his throne, and the two of them will work together harmoniously.
Et c'est lui qui bâtira le temple de l'Éternel, et il portera les insignes de la majesté et siégera, et exercera la royauté sur son trône et la sacrificature sur son trône, et le conseil de la paix sera entre elles deux.
14 The crown must be [kept] in my temple to remind people of what Heldai, Tobijah, Jedaiah, and Josiah [did for them].
Et les couronnes seront pour Hélem et pour Tobie, et pour Jédaïa, et pour Hen fils de Sophonie, un mémorial dans le temple de l'Éternel.
15 People who are [living] far away will come and [help to] build my temple. When that happens, the people will know that [I], the Commander of the armies of angels, have sent you to them. [That will happen] if they faithfully obey me, Yahweh, your/their God.”
Et des [peuples] lointains viendront et travailleront au temple de l'Éternel, et vous saurez que l'Éternel des armées m'a envoyé à vous. Et cela arrivera, si vous écoutez la voix de l'Éternel, votre Dieu.
