Zechariah 6
1 I looked up again, and [in the vision] I saw four chariots coming toward me. [They were coming] between two mountains [that were made] of bronze.
De nouveau, je levai les yeux pour regarder, et voici que quatre chars sortaient d’entre les deux montagnes; or, ces montagnes étaient des montagnes d’airain.
2 The first chariot [was pulled by] red horses, the second chariot [was pulled by] black horses,
Au premier char il y avait des chevaux roux, au second char des chevaux noirs;
3 the third chariot [was pulled by] white horses, and the fourth chariot [was pulled by] spotted gray horses. They were all very strong horses.
au troisième char des chevaux blancs et au quatrième char des chevaux tachetés brun.
4 I asked the angel who had been speaking to me, “Sir, what do those chariots mean?”
Je pris la parole et dis à l’ange qui conversait avec moi: "Que représentent ceux-là, seigneur?"
5 The angel replied, “They have come from standing in the presence of the Lord who controls/rules the entire earth. They will go across the sky in four directions.
L’Ange répliqua en me disant: "Ce sont les quatre vents du ciel qui sortent, après s’être présentés devant le Maître de toute la terre."
6 The chariot [pulled by] black horses will go north, the [one pulled by] white horses will go west, the one [pulled by] spotted gray horses will go south.”
Pour ce qui est du char où sont les chevaux noirs, ils prirent leur course vers le pays du Nord, les blancs suivirent leurs traces; quant aux tachetés, ils s’en allèrent vers le pays du Sud.
7 When those powerful horses left, their [chariot-drivers] were eager to go throughout the world. [As they were leaving, ] the angel said to them, “Go throughout the world [and see what is happening]!” So that is what they did.
Et les bruns sortirent à leur tour, demandant à aller parcourir la terre. Et il dit: "Allez et parcourez la terre!" Et ils se mirent à parcourir la terre.
8 Then the angel called to me [and said], “Look/Listen, the [drivers of the] chariots that have gone north will do what the Spirit [of Yahweh wants them to do] there.”
Puis, il m’apostropha et me parla en ces termes: "Vois, ceux qui s’en vont vers le pays du Nord, apaisent mon esprit dans le pays du Nord."
9 Then Yahweh gave me [another] message.
La parole de l’Eternel me fut adressée en ces termes:
10 He said, “Heldai, Tobijah, and Jedaiah will be bringing some silver and gold from the people who were (exiled in/forced to go to) Babylon. As soon as they arrive, go to the house of Josiah the son of Zephaniah.
"Accepte de la part de ceux qui sont en exil les dons apportés par Heldaï, Tobia et Jedaïa et va, ce même jour, te rendre dans la maison de Josia, fils de Cefania, où ils sont arrivés de Babylone.
11 Take [some of that] silver and gold from them and make a crown. Then put it on the head of Jehozadak’s son Joshua, the Supreme Priest.
Tu prendras de l’argent et de l’or, tu en feras des couronnes, que tu poseras sur la tête de Josué, fils de Joçadak, le grand-prêtre.
12 Tell him that [I], the Commander of the armies of angels, say that the man who is called the Branch will come. He will leave the place where he is now, and he will [supervise those who] build my temple.
Et tu lui diras ces mots: Ainsi parle l’Eternel-Cebaot: Voici un homme dont le nom est "Rejeton" et il germera de sa place pour bâtir le temple de l’Eternel.
13 He is the one who [will tell those who] will build my temple [what to do]. He will wear royal clothing and he will sit on his throne and rule. There will also be a priest [sitting] next to his throne, and the two of them will work together harmoniously.
Oui, c’est lui qui bâtira le temple de l’Eternel, il en retirera de la gloire et il s’asseoira et règnera sur son trône; un prêtre sera près de son trône, et il y aura une entente pacifique entre eux.
14 The crown must be [kept] in my temple to remind people of what Heldai, Tobijah, Jedaiah, and Josiah [did for them].
Les couronnes seront conservées dans le temple de l’Eternel, comme mémorial à l’intention de Hèlem, Tobia et Jedaïa, et comme signe d’honneur pour le fils de Cefania.
15 People who are [living] far away will come and [help to] build my temple. When that happens, the people will know that [I], the Commander of the armies of angels, have sent you to them. [That will happen] if they faithfully obey me, Yahweh, your/their God.”
Et on viendra de loin pour prendre part à la construction du temple de l’Eternel, et vous reconnaîtrez que c’est l’Eternel-Cebaot qui m’a délégué auprès de vous. Cela s’accomplira, si vous obéissez ponctuellement à la voix de l’Eternel, votre Dieu."
