Zechariah 6
1 I looked up again, and [in the vision] I saw four chariots coming toward me. [They were coming] between two mountains [that were made] of bronze.
Je levai encore les yeux, et je regardai; et voici, quatre chars sortaient d'entre deux montagnes, et les montagnes étaient des montagnes d'airain.
2 The first chariot [was pulled by] red horses, the second chariot [was pulled by] black horses,
Dans le premier char, il y avait des chevaux rouges. Dans le second char, des chevaux noirs.
3 the third chariot [was pulled by] white horses, and the fourth chariot [was pulled by] spotted gray horses. They were all very strong horses.
Dans le troisième char, il y avait des chevaux blancs. Dans le quatrième char, des chevaux tachetés, tous puissants.
4 I asked the angel who had been speaking to me, “Sir, what do those chariots mean?”
Je demandai alors à l'ange qui parlait avec moi: « Qu'est-ce que c'est, mon seigneur? »
5 The angel replied, “They have come from standing in the presence of the Lord who controls/rules the entire earth. They will go across the sky in four directions.
L'ange me répondit: « Ce sont les quatre vents du ciel, qui sortent de leur position devant le Seigneur de toute la terre.
6 The chariot [pulled by] black horses will go north, the [one pulled by] white horses will go west, the one [pulled by] spotted gray horses will go south.”
Celui qui a les chevaux noirs sort vers le pays du nord; le blanc sort après eux; et le tacheté sort vers le pays du midi. »
7 When those powerful horses left, their [chariot-drivers] were eager to go throughout the world. [As they were leaving, ] the angel said to them, “Go throughout the world [and see what is happening]!” So that is what they did.
Le fort sortit, et chercha à aller pour marcher de long en large sur la terre. Il dit: « Faites le tour et traversez la terre! » Ils parcoururent donc la terre de long en large.
8 Then the angel called to me [and said], “Look/Listen, the [drivers of the] chariots that have gone north will do what the Spirit [of Yahweh wants them to do] there.”
Alors il m'appela et me parla ainsi: « Voici que ceux qui vont vers le pays du nord ont apaisé mon esprit dans le pays du nord. »
9 Then Yahweh gave me [another] message.
La parole de Yahvé me fut adressée, en ces termes:
10 He said, “Heldai, Tobijah, and Jedaiah will be bringing some silver and gold from the people who were (exiled in/forced to go to) Babylon. As soon as they arrive, go to the house of Josiah the son of Zephaniah.
« Prends parmi les captifs ceux de Heldaï, de Tobija et de Jedaïa; viens le jour même, et entre dans la maison de Josias, fils de Sophonie, où ils sont venus de Babylone.
11 Take [some of that] silver and gold from them and make a crown. Then put it on the head of Jehozadak’s son Joshua, the Supreme Priest.
Prends de l'argent et de l'or, fais des couronnes, et mets-les sur la tête de Josué, fils de Jéhozadak, le grand prêtre.
12 Tell him that [I], the Commander of the armies of angels, say that the man who is called the Branch will come. He will leave the place where he is now, and he will [supervise those who] build my temple.
Tu lui diras: « L'Éternel des armées dit: « Voici l'homme dont le nom est le rameau. Il sortira de son lieu, et il bâtira le temple de Yahvé.
13 He is the one who [will tell those who] will build my temple [what to do]. He will wear royal clothing and he will sit on his throne and rule. There will also be a priest [sitting] next to his throne, and the two of them will work together harmoniously.
C'est lui qui bâtira le temple de Yahvé. Il portera la gloire, il s'assiéra et dominera sur son trône. Il sera prêtre sur son trône. Le conseil de paix sera entre eux deux.
14 The crown must be [kept] in my temple to remind people of what Heldai, Tobijah, Jedaiah, and Josiah [did for them].
Les couronnes seront pour Hélem, pour Tobija, pour Jedaja et pour Hen, fils de Sophonie, comme souvenir dans le temple de l'Éternel.
15 People who are [living] far away will come and [help to] build my temple. When that happens, the people will know that [I], the Commander of the armies of angels, have sent you to them. [That will happen] if they faithfully obey me, Yahweh, your/their God.”
Ceux qui sont loin viendront et bâtiront dans le temple de Yahvé; et vous saurez que Yahvé des armées m'a envoyé vers vous. Cela arrivera, si vous obéissez diligemment à la voix de Yahvé votre Dieu. »'"
