Psalms 98
1 Sing to Yahweh a new song, because he has done wonderful things! By his power [MTY] and his great strength [DOU] he has defeated [his enemies].
Faarfannaa. Waaqayyoof faarfannaa haaraa faarfadhaa; inni dinqii hojjeteeratii; harki isaa inni mirgaatii fi irreen isaa qulqulluun, akka inni moʼannaa argatu godhaniiru.
2 Yahweh has declared to people that he has defeated his enemies; he has revealed that he has punished [them], and [people in] all the world have seen that he has done it.
Waaqayyo akka fayyisuun isaa beekamu godheera; qajeelummaa isaas sabootatti mulʼiseera.
3 Like he promised to us Israeli people [MTY], he has faithfully loved us and (been loyal to/not abandoned) us. [People who live] in very remote places in all the earth have seen that our God has defeated [his enemies].
Inni jaalala isaatii fi amanamummaa isaa mana Israaʼeliif yaadateera; daariin lafaa hundinuu, fayyisuu Waaqa keenyaa arganiiru.
4 All you [people] [MTY] everywhere should sing joyfully to Yahweh; praise him while you sing and shout joyfully!
Lafti hundinuu Waaqayyoof ililchaa; faarfannaa gammachuutiin iyyaa; weedduu galataas weeddisaa;
5 Praise Yahweh while you play the lyres/harps, playing [delightful] music.
baganaadhaan faarfannaa galataa, baganaa fi sagalee weedduutiin Waaqayyoof faarfadhaa;
6 [Some of you should] blow trumpets and other horns, [while others] shout joyfully to Yahweh, [our] king.
malakataa fi sagalee gaanfaatiin, fuula Waaqayyo mootichaa duratti ililchaa.
7 The oceans and all [the creatures] that are in the oceans should roar [to praise Yahweh]. Everyone on the earth should sing!
Galaannii fi wanni isa keessa jiru hundinuu, addunyaa fi wanti ishee keessa jiraatu hundinuu haa huursan.
8 [It should seem as though] the rivers are clapping their hands [to praise Yahweh] and that the hills are singing together joyfully in front of Yahweh,
Lageen harka isaanii haa rurrukutan; tulluuwwanis tokkummaadhaan haa ililchan;
9 because he will come to judge [everyone on] [MTY] the earth! He will judge [all] the people-groups [in the world] justly and fairly [DOU].
isaan fuula Waaqayyoo duratti haa faarfatan; inni lafatti murteessuu ni dhufaatii. Inni addunyaaf qajeelummaadhaan, namootaaf immoo utuu wal hin caalchisin murtii kenna.
