Psalms 98
1 Sing to Yahweh a new song, because he has done wonderful things! By his power [MTY] and his great strength [DOU] he has defeated [his enemies].
Psaume. Chantez à l’Eternel un cantique nouveau, car il a accompli des merveilles, soutenu par sa droite et son bras auguste.
2 Yahweh has declared to people that he has defeated his enemies; he has revealed that he has punished [them], and [people in] all the world have seen that he has done it.
L’Eternel a fait éclater son secours; aux yeux des nations, il a manifesté sa justice. Il s’est souvenu de sa grâce
3 Like he promised to us Israeli people [MTY], he has faithfully loved us and (been loyal to/not abandoned) us. [People who live] in very remote places in all the earth have seen that our God has defeated [his enemies].
et de sa bonté pour la maison d’Israël; toutes les extrémités de la terre ont été témoins du secours de notre Dieu.
4 All you [people] [MTY] everywhere should sing joyfully to Yahweh; praise him while you sing and shout joyfully!
Acclamez l’Eternel, toute la terre, entonnez des cantiques, chantez des hymnes!
5 Praise Yahweh while you play the lyres/harps, playing [delightful] music.
Glorifiez l’Eternel avec la harpe, avec la harpe et des chants harmonieux;
6 [Some of you should] blow trumpets and other horns, [while others] shout joyfully to Yahweh, [our] king.
le son des trompettes et les accents du Chofar, faites-les retentir devant le Roi Eternel.
7 The oceans and all [the creatures] that are in the oceans should roar [to praise Yahweh]. Everyone on the earth should sing!
Que la mer élève ses clameurs, la mer et ce qui la peuple, la terre et tous ceux qui l’habitent!
8 [It should seem as though] the rivers are clapping their hands [to praise Yahweh] and that the hills are singing together joyfully in front of Yahweh,
Que les fleuves battent des mains, qu’à l’unisson les montagnes retentissent de chants,
9 because he will come to judge [everyone on] [MTY] the earth! He will judge [all] the people-groups [in the world] justly and fairly [DOU].
à l’approche de l’Eternel qui vient juger la terre! Il va juger le monde avec équité, et les nations avec droiture.
