Psalms 98
1 Sing to Yahweh a new song, because he has done wonderful things! By his power [MTY] and his great strength [DOU] he has defeated [his enemies].
Psaume. Chantez à l’Éternel un cantique nouveau! Car il a fait des choses merveilleuses: sa droite et le bras de sa sainteté l’ont délivré.
2 Yahweh has declared to people that he has defeated his enemies; he has revealed that he has punished [them], and [people in] all the world have seen that he has done it.
L’Éternel a fait connaître son salut, il a révélé sa justice aux yeux des nations.
3 Like he promised to us Israeli people [MTY], he has faithfully loved us and (been loyal to/not abandoned) us. [People who live] in very remote places in all the earth have seen that our God has defeated [his enemies].
Il s’est souvenu de sa bonté et de sa fidélité envers la maison d’Israël; tous les bouts de la terre ont vu le salut de notre Dieu.
4 All you [people] [MTY] everywhere should sing joyfully to Yahweh; praise him while you sing and shout joyfully!
Poussez des cris de joie vers l’Éternel, toute la terre; éclatez d’allégresse, et exultez avec chant de triomphe, et psalmodiez!
5 Praise Yahweh while you play the lyres/harps, playing [delightful] music.
Chantez les louanges de l’Éternel avec la harpe, avec la harpe et une voix de cantique!
6 [Some of you should] blow trumpets and other horns, [while others] shout joyfully to Yahweh, [our] king.
Avec des trompettes et le son du cor, poussez des cris de joie devant le Roi, l’Éternel!
7 The oceans and all [the creatures] that are in the oceans should roar [to praise Yahweh]. Everyone on the earth should sing!
Que la mer bruie, et tout ce qui la remplit, le monde et ceux qui y habitent!
8 [It should seem as though] the rivers are clapping their hands [to praise Yahweh] and that the hills are singing together joyfully in front of Yahweh,
Que les fleuves battent des mains, que les montagnes chantent de joie ensemble,
9 because he will come to judge [everyone on] [MTY] the earth! He will judge [all] the people-groups [in the world] justly and fairly [DOU].
Devant l’Éternel! car il vient pour juger la terre: il jugera le monde avec justice, et les peuples avec droiture.
