Psalms 96
1 Sing to Yahweh a new song! [You people] throughout the earth, sing to Yahweh!
[Vergl. 1. Chron. 16,23-33] N Singet Jehova ein neues Lied, singet Jehova, ganze Erde!
2 Sing to Yahweh and praise him [MTY]! Every day proclaim [to others] that he has saved/rescued us.
Singet Jehova, preiset seinen Namen, verkündet [Eig. verkündet als frohe Botschaft] von Tag zu Tag seine Rettung!
3 Tell about his glory/greatness to all people-groups; tell all people-groups the marvelous [things that he has done].
Erzählet unter den Nationen seine Herrlichkeit, unter allen Völkern seine Wundertaten!
4 Yahweh is great, and he deserves to be praised very much; he should be revered more than for all the gods,
Denn groß ist Jehova und sehr zu loben, furchtbar ist er über alle Götter.
5 because all the gods that other people-groups [worship] are [only] idols, but Yahweh [is truly great]; he created the skies!
Denn alle Götter der Völker sind Nichtigkeiten, [O. Götzen] aber Jehova hat die Himmel gemacht.
6 Those who are in his presence honor him and can see that he is a great king. They can see in his temple that he is very powerful and is very beautiful.
Majestät und Pracht sind vor seinem Angesicht, Stärke und Herrlichkeit in seinem Heiligtum.
7 You people in nations all over the earth, praise Yahweh! Praise Yahweh for his glorious power [HEN]!
Gebet Jehova, ihr Völkerstämme, gebet Jehova Herrlichkeit und Stärke!
8 Praise Yahweh like he deserves to be praised, Bring an offering and come to his temple.
Gebet Jehova die Herrlichkeit seines Namens; bringet eine Opfergabe und kommet in seine Vorhöfe!
9 Bow down before Yahweh [when he appears] in his holy/sacred temple; everyone on the earth should tremble in front of him, because he is majestic and holy.
Betet Jehova an in heiliger Pracht! Erzittert vor ihm, ganze Erde!
10 Say to all the people-groups, “Yahweh is the king! He put the world in its place, and nothing will ever be able to move/shake it. He will judge [all] the people-groups fairly.”
Saget unter den Nationen: Jehova regiert! auch steht der Erdkreis fest, er wird nicht wanken. Er wird die Völker richten in Geradheit.
11 [All the beings that are in] [MTY] the heavens should be glad, and all [the people on the] earth should rejoice. The oceans and all the creatures that are in the oceans should roar [to praise Yahweh].
Es freue sich der Himmel, und es frohlocke die Erde! es brause das Meer und seine Fülle!
12 The fields and everything that grows in them should rejoice. When they do that, [it will be as though] all the trees in the forests will sing joyfully
Es frohlocke das Gefilde und alles, was darauf ist! Dann werden jubeln alle Bäume des Waldes-
13 in front of Yahweh. That will happen when he comes to judge [everyone on] [MTY] the earth. He will judge all the people fairly/justly, according to [what he knows is] true.
Vor Jehova; denn er kommt, denn er kommt, die Erde zu richten: er wird den Erdkreis richten in Gerechtigkeit, und die Völker in seiner Treue.
