Psalms 87

1 The city that Yahweh established is on his sacred hill.

En Psalmvisa Korah barnas. Han är fast grundad på de helga bergen.

2 He loves that city, Jerusalem, more than he loves any other city in Israel.

Herren älskar Zions portar, öfver alla Jacobs boningar.

3 [You people in] [APO] the city that God (owns/lives in), people say wonderful things about your city.

Härlig ting varda i dig predikade, du Guds stad. (Sela)

4 [Some of those who know about God are the people of] Egypt and Babylonia, and also [the people of] Philistia and Tyre and Ethiopia; [some day they all] will say, “[Although I was not born in Jerusalem], [because I belong to Yahweh, it is as though] I was born there.”

Jag vill predika låta för Rahab och Babel, att de mig känna skola. Si, de Philisteer och Tyrer, samt med de Ethioper, varda der födde.

5 And concerning Jerusalem, people will say [“It is as though] everyone was born there, and Almighty God will cause that city to remain strong/safe/secure.”

Man skall i Zion säga, att allahanda folk derinne födt varder, och att han, den Högste, bygger honom.

6 Yahweh will write a list of [the names of] the people of various groups [who belong to him], and he will say that [he considers them] all to be citizens of Jerusalem.

Herren skall predika låta i allahanda tungomål, att ock någre af dem skola der födde varda. (Sela)

7 They will all dance and sing, saying, “Jerusalem is the source of all our blessings.”

Och de sångare skola alle i dig sjunga till skiftes, såsom i en dans.
