Psalms 87

1 The city that Yahweh established is on his sacred hill.

Von den Kindern Korahs. Ein Psalmlied. Er hat sie fest gegründet auf heiligen Bergen;

2 He loves that city, Jerusalem, more than he loves any other city in Israel.

der HERR liebt die Tore Zions mehr als alle Wohnungen Jakobs.

3 [You people in] [APO] the city that God (owns/lives in), people say wonderful things about your city.

Herrliche Dinge sind von dir zu melden, du Stadt Gottes! (Pause)

4 [Some of those who know about God are the people of] Egypt and Babylonia, and also [the people of] Philistia and Tyre and Ethiopia; [some day they all] will say, “[Although I was not born in Jerusalem], [because I belong to Yahweh, it is as though] I was born there.”

Ich nenne Rahab und Babel denen, die mich kennen; siehe, Philistäa und Tyrus und das Mohrenland: «Dieser ist dort geboren!»

5 And concerning Jerusalem, people will say [“It is as though] everyone was born there, and Almighty God will cause that city to remain strong/safe/secure.”

Aber von Zion wird man sagen: «Mann für Mann ist in ihr geboren, und der Höchste selbst wird sie befestigen!»

6 Yahweh will write a list of [the names of] the people of various groups [who belong to him], and he will say that [he considers them] all to be citizens of Jerusalem.

Der HERR wird zählen, wenn er die Völker verzeichnet: «Dieser ist dort geboren.» (Pause)

7 They will all dance and sing, saying, “Jerusalem is the source of all our blessings.”

Und man singt und spielt: Alle meine Quellen sind in dir!
