< Psalms 75 >
1 We give thanks to you; our God, we thank you. You are close to us, and we proclaim to others the wonderful things that you have done [for us].
Fún adarí orin. Tí ohùn, “Má ṣe parun.” Saamu ti Asafu. Orin. A fi ìyìn fún ọ, Ọlọ́run, a yìn ọ́, nítorí orúkọ rẹ súnmọ́ tòsí; àwọn ènìyàn ń sọ ti ìyanu rẹ.
2 [You have said], “I have appointed a time when I will judge people, and I will judge [everyone] fairly.
Ìwọ wí pé, “Mo yan àkókò ìyàsọ́tọ̀; Èmi ni ẹni tí ń ṣe ìdájọ́ òdodo.
3 When the earth shakes and all the creatures on the earth tremble, I am the one who will (keep its foundations steady/prevent it from being destroyed).
Nígbà tí ayé àti àwọn ènìyàn ibẹ̀ wárìrì, Èmi ni mo di òpó rẹ̀ mú ṣinṣin.
4 I say to people who (boast/talk proudly about themselves), ‘Stop bragging!’ and I say to wicked people, ‘Do not proudly [do things to] show how great you are [IDM]!
Èmí wí fún àwọn agbéraga pé, ẹ má ṣe gbéraga mọ́; àti sí ènìyàn búburú; ẹ má ṣe gbé ìwo yín sókè.
5 Do not be arrogant, and do not speak so boastfully!’”
Ẹ má ṣe gbe ìwo yín sókè sí ọ̀run; ẹ má ṣe sọ̀rọ̀ pẹ̀lú ọrùn líle.”
6 The one who judges people does not come from the east or from the west, and he does not come from the desert.
Nítorí ìgbéga kò ti ìlà-oòrùn wá tàbí ní ìwọ̀-oòrùn, bẹ́ẹ̀ ni kì í ṣe láti gúúsù wá.
7 God is the one who judges people; he says that some have sinned and must be punished, and that others have not done what is wrong.
Ṣùgbọ́n Ọlọ́run ni olùdájọ́; Ó ń rẹ ẹnìkan sílẹ̀, ó sì ń gbé ẹlòmíràn ga.
8 [It is as though] Yahweh holds a cup in his hand; it is filled with wine that [has spices] mixed in it [to cause those who drink it to become more drunk]; and when Yahweh pours it out, he will force all the wicked people to drink it; they will drink every drop of it, [which means that he will give them all the punishment that they deserve].
Ní ọwọ́ Olúwa ni ago kan wà, ọtí wáìnì náà sì pọ́n, ó kún fún àdàlú, ó fún ọtí àdàlú tí a pò mọ́ òórùn dídùn tí ó tú jáde, àwọn ènìyàn búburú ayé gbogbo mú u pátápátá.
9 But [as for me], I will never stop saying what the God whom Jacob [worshiped has done]; I will never quit singing to praise him.
Ṣùgbọ́n èmi, ó máa ròyìn rẹ títí láé; èmi ó kọrin ìyìn sí Ọlọ́run Jakọbu.
10 He will destroy the power [IDM] of wicked people, but he will cause righteous people to become more powerful.
Èmi ó gé ìwo gbogbo ènìyàn búburú, ṣùgbọ́n ìwo àwọn olódodo ni a ó gbéga.
