Psalms 72
1 A psalm written by Solomon. O God, enable [me, ] the king [whom you appointed in Israel], to rule justly. Show/Teach me how to judge matters fairly
੧ਸੁਲੇਮਾਨ ਦਾ ਗੀਤ। ਹੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ, ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣਾ ਨਿਆਂ, ਅਤੇ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣਾ ਧਰਮ ਸਿਖਾ।
2 in order that I will judge your people fairly, that I will govern your oppressed people justly.
੨ਉਹ ਧਰਮ ਨਾਲ ਤੇਰੀ ਪਰਜਾ ਦਾ ਅਤੇ ਇਨਸਾਫ਼ ਨਾਲ ਤੇਰੇ ਮਸਕੀਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਨਿਆਂ ਕਰੇਗਾ।
3 I desire that [all over the country—even] on the hills and mountains [DOU]— people will live peacefully and righteously.
੩ਪਰਬਤ ਤੇ ਪਹਾੜੀਆਂ ਪਰਜਾ ਲਈ ਧਰਮ ਦੇ ਕਾਰਨ ਖੁਸ਼ਹਾਲੀ ਲਿਆਉਣਗੇ।
4 Help [me], your king, to defend the poor people and to rescue needy people and to defeat those who oppress them.
੪ਉਹ ਪਰਜਾ ਦੇ ਮਸਕੀਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਨਿਆਂ ਕਰੇਗਾ, ਉਹ ਕੰਗਾਲਾਂ ਦੇ ਬੱਚਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਬਚਾਵੇਗਾ, ਅਤੇ ਜ਼ਾਲਮ ਨੂੰ ਕੁਚਲੇਂਗਾ।
5 I desire that your people will revere you as long as the moon shines, [forever].
੫ਜਿੰਨਾਂ ਚਿਰ ਸੂਰਜ ਤੇ ਚੰਦਰਮਾ ਬਣੇ ਰਹਿਣਗੇ, ਲੋਕ ਪੀੜ੍ਹੀਓਂ ਪੀੜ੍ਹੀ ਤੇਰਾ ਭੈਅ ਮੰਨਦੇ ਰਹਿਣਗੇ।
6 I desire that my rule will [be enjoyed by the people] [SIM] like [they enjoy] rain on growing crops, like [they enjoy] showers that fall on the land.
੬ਉਹ ਦਾ ਉਤਰਨਾ ਵਰਖਾ ਦੀ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ ਜਿਹੜੀ ਘਾਹ ਦੇ ਵੱਢ ਉੱਤੇ ਪਵੇ, ਅਤੇ ਝੜ੍ਹੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਜੋ ਧਰਤੀ ਨੂੰ ਸਿੰਜਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ।
7 I hope/desire that people will live righteously during the years that I rule, and that my people will live peacefully and prosperously as long as the moon shines.
੭ਉਹ ਦੇ ਦਿਨਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਧਰਮੀ ਲਹਿਲਹਾਉਣਗੇ, ਅਤੇ ਜਿੰਨਾਂ ਚਿਰ ਚੰਦਰਮਾ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਨਾ ਰਹੇ ਸ਼ਾਂਤੀ ਭਰਪੂਰੀ ਨਾਲ ਵਾਸ ਕਰੇਗੀ।
8 I hope/desire that the kings [of Israel] will rule [the people] in all the area from one sea [in the east] to another [in the west], and from the [Euphrates] River to the most remote/distant places on earth.
੮ਉਹ ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਤੋਂ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਤੱਕ ਅਤੇ ਧਰਤੀ ਤੋਂ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਦਰਿਆ ਦੇ ਬੰਨੇ ਤੱਕ ਰਾਜ ਕਰੇਗਾ।
9 I hope/desire that those who live in the desert will bow down before them, and that their enemies will throw themselves on the ground [in submission] to them.
੯ਉਜਾੜ ਦੇ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਉਹ ਦੇ ਅੱਗੇ ਗੋਡੇ ਨਿਵਾਉਣਗੇ, ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਦੇ ਵੈਰੀ ਖਾਕ ਚੱਟਣਗੇ!
10 I hope/desire that the kings of Spain and of the islands [in the Mediterranean Sea] will bring (tribute money/taxes) to the kings [of Israel], and that the kings of Sheba [to the south] and of Seba [to the southwest] will bring them gifts.
੧੦ਤਰਸ਼ੀਸ਼ ਅਤੇ ਟਾਪੂਆਂ ਦੇ ਰਾਜੇ ਭੇਟ ਲਿਆਉਣਗੇ, ਸ਼ਬਾ ਤੇ ਸਬਾ ਦੇ ਰਾਜੇ ਨਜ਼ਰਾਨੇ ਪਹੁੰਚਾਉਣਗੇ,
11 I hope/desire that all the [other] kings [in the world] will bow before the kings [of Israel], and that [people of] all nations will serve them.
੧੧ਸਗੋਂ ਸਾਰੇ ਰਾਜੇ ਉਹ ਦੇ ਅੱਗੇ ਮੱਥਾ ਟੇਕਣਗੇ, ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਕੌਮਾਂ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਕਰਨਗੀਆਂ।
12 They will rescue poor people when they (cry out/plead) for help, and help those who are needy and those who have no one to help them.
੧੨ਉਹ ਦੁਹਾਈ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਕੰਗਾਲ ਨੂੰ ਅਤੇ ਮਸਕੀਨ ਅਤੇ ਅਨਾਥ ਨੂੰ ਬਚਾਵੇਗਾ।
13 They will pity those who are weak and needy; he saves the people’s lives.
੧੩ਉਹ ਗਰੀਬ ਅਤੇ ਕੰਗਾਲ ਉੱਤੇ ਤਰਸ ਖਾਵੇਗਾ, ਅਤੇ ਕੰਗਾਲ ਦੀਆਂ ਜਾਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਬਚਾਵੇਗਾ।
14 Our kings will rescue the people from being oppressed and from being treated cruelly, [because] (their lives/they) [MTY] are precious to our kings.
੧੪ਉਹ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਜਾਨ ਨੂੰ ਛਲ ਤੇ ਅਨ੍ਹੇਰ ਤੋਂ ਛੁਟਕਾਰਾ ਦੇਵੇਗਾ, ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਜੀਵਨ ਉਹ ਦੀ ਨਿਗਾਹ ਵਿੱਚ ਬਹੁਮੁੱਲਾ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ,
15 I hope/desire that our kings will live a long time! I hope/desire that they will be given gold from Sheba. I desire that people will always pray for our kings and praise them all the time, [every day].
੧੫ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਜਿਉਂਦਾ ਰਹੇਗਾ ਅਤੇ ਸ਼ਬਾ ਦੇ ਸੋਨੇ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਉਹ ਨੂੰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ, ਅਤੇ ਓਹ ਉਹ ਦੇ ਲਈ ਨਿੱਤ ਪ੍ਰਾਰਥਨਾ ਕਰਨਗੇ, ਸਾਰਾ ਦਿਨ ਉਹ ਨੂੰ ਮੁਬਾਰਕ ਆਖਣਗੇ।
16 I hope/desire that the fields will produce plenty of grain [everywhere, even] on the tops of the hills in the land where they rule, like the grain that grows [on the hills] in Lebanon. I hope/desire that the cities [in Israel] will be full of people like the fields are full of grass.
੧੬ਧਰਤੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਪਹਾੜਾਂ ਦੀ ਟੀਸੀ ਉੱਤੇ ਬਹੁਤਾ ਅੰਨ ਹੋਵੇ, ਉਹ ਦਾ ਫਲ ਲਬਾਨੋਨ ਵਾਂਗੂੰ ਝੂਮੇ, ਅਤੇ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਦੇ ਲੋਕ ਧਰਤੀ ਦੀ ਹਰਿਆਉਲ ਵਾਂਗੂੰ ਲਹਿ ਲਹਾਉਣ!
17 I desire that the names of our kings will never be forgotten. I hope/desire that people will remember them as long as the sun shines. I hope/desire that people of all nations will ask (God to bless them/that they will be blessed by God) just like he has blessed the kings [of Israel].
੧੭ਉਹ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਦਾ ਰਹੇ, ਜਿੰਨਾਂ ਚਿਰ ਸੂਰਜ ਰਹੇ ਉਹ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਵਧੇ, ਅਤੇ ਲੋਕ ਉਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਬਰਕਤ ਪਾਉਣ, ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਕੌਮਾਂ ਉਹ ਨੂੰ ਧੰਨ ਆਖਣ!।
18 Praise Yahweh, the God whom [we] Israelis [worship]; he is the only one who does wonderful things.
੧੮ਮੁਬਾਰਕ ਹੋਵੇ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ, ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦਾ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ, ਉਹ ਇਕੱਲਾ ਹੀ ਅਚਰਜ਼ ਕੰਮ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ,
19 Praise him forever! I desire that (his glory will fill the whole world/people all over the world may see that he is very great) [MTY]! Amen! May it be so!
੧੯ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਦਾ ਤੇਜਵਾਨ ਨਾਮ ਸਦਾ ਤੱਕ ਮੁਬਾਰਕ ਹੋਵੇ, ਅਤੇ ਸਾਰੀ ਧਰਤੀ ਉਹ ਦੇ ਤੇਜ ਨਾਲ ਭਰਪੂਰ ਹੋਵੇ! ਆਮੀਨ ਤੇ ਆਮੀਨ!। ਯੱਸੀ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਦਾਊਦ ਦੀਆਂ ਪ੍ਰਾਰਥਨਾਂ ਸਮਾਪਤ ਹੋਈਆਂ।
