Psalms 63
1 God, you are the God whom I [worship]. I greatly desire to be with you like [SIL] a person in a dry hot desert greatly desires [some cool water].
En Psalm Davids, då han var i Juda öken. Gud, du äst min Gud, bittida vakar jag upp till dig. Min själ törstar efter dig, mitt kött längtar efter dig, uti ett torrt och törstigt land, der intet vatten är.
2 So, I want to see you in your temple; I want to see that you are great and glorious.
Der ser jag efter dig i dinom helgedom, att jag måtte skåda dina magt och äro.
3 Your constantly loving [me] is (worth more/more precious) than [my] life, so I [MTY] will [always] praise you.
Ty din godhet är bättre än lif. Mine läppar prisa dig.
4 I will praise you all the time that I live; I will lift up my hands to you while I pray.
Der ville jag gerna lofva dig i mina lifsdagar, och upplyfta mina händer, i ditt Namn.
5 [Knowing you satisfies me more than] [IDM, MET] my eating a very big feast, [so] I will praise you while I sing [MTY] joyful songs.
Det vore mins hjertas fröjd och lust, då jag dig med gladom mun lofva skulle.
6 While I lie on my bed, I think about you. I think/meditate about you all during the night,
När jag mig i säng lägger, så tänker jag uppå dig; när jag uppvaknar, så talar jag om dig.
7 because you have always helped me, and I sing joyfully knowing that I am protected by you [as a little bird is protected] under [its mother’s] wings [MET].
Ty du äst min hjelpare, och under dina vingars skugga vill jag fröjda mig.
8 I cling to you; and with your hand/power you protect me.
Min själ håller sig intill dig; din högra hand uppehåller mig.
9 But those who are trying to kill me will [die and] descend into the place of the dead;
Men de stå efter mina själ, till att öfverfalla mig; de måste under jordena nederfara.
10 they will be killed in battles [MTY] and their [corpses] will be eaten by jackals/wild dogs.
De måste falla i svärd, och räfvomen till lott blifva.
11 But I, the king [of Israel], will rejoice in what God has done; and all those who revere and trust God will praise him, but he will not allow liars to say anything.
Men Konungen fröjdar sig i Gudi; den vid honom svär, han skall prisad varda; ty de lögnmunnar skola tillstoppade varda.
