< Psalms 62 >
1 God is the only one who can give me peace in my inner being, and he is the one who saves me [from my enemies].
Dura buʼaa faarfattootaatiif. Yeduutuuniif. Faarfannaa Daawit. Lubbuun koo Waaqa qofa eeggatti; fayyinni koos isa biraa naa dhufa.
2 Only he is like an [overhanging] rock [under which I can be safe] [MET]; he will be [like] a shelter, [with the result that] I will never be defeated [MET].
Kattaan kootii fi fayyinni koo isa qofa; inni daʼoo koo ti; ani gonkumaa hin raafamu.
3 When will you, [my enemies], stop attacking me [RHQ]? I feel that I am [as useless against you as] a wall that is about to fall over or a broken-down fence [MET].
Isin hamma yoomiitti nama miitu? Hamma yoomiitti akka keenyan manaa kan duufeetti, akka dallaa raafameettis lafaan isa dhaʼuu barbaaddu?
4 My enemies plan to remove me from my important position so that people no longer honor me. They delight in telling lies. They bless people by what they say [MTY], but in their inner beings they curse [those people].
Isaan aangoo isaa guddaa sana irraa, guutummaatti gad isa deebisuu barbaadu; isaan sobatti ni gammadu. Afaan isaaniitiin ni eebbisu; garaa isaaniitiin garuu ni abaaru.
5 God is the only one who gives me peace in my inner being; he is the one whom I confidently expect [to help me].
Lubbuun koo Waaqa qofa obsaan eeggatti; abdiin koo isa biraa dhufaatii.
6 Only he is [like an overhanging] rock [under which I can be safe] [MET]; he is [like] a shelter, and [as a result] I will never be defeated.
Kattaan kootii fi fayyinni koo isa qofa; inni daʼoo koo ti; ani hin raafamu.
7 God is the one who saves me and honors me. He is [like an overhanging] strong rock under which I [can] find shelter [MET].
Fayyinni kootii fi ulfinni koo harka Waaqaa keessa jira; kattaan koo jabaan, iddoon ani itti kooluu galu Waaqa.
8 [You my] people, always trust in him. Tell him all your troubles, because he is (our refuge/the one who protects us) [MET].
Yaa namoota, yeroo hunda isa amanadhaa; garaa keessanis fuula isaa duratti dhangalaasaa; Waaqni iddoo nu itti kooluu galluudhaatii.
9 People who are considered to be unimportant are [as worthless/unreliable as] a breath of air; people who are considered to be important [also] really (amount to nothing/cannot be trusted [to help us)]. If you put them all on a scale, [it would be as if] they weighed less than a puff of air.
Gosa tuffatamaa irraa dhalachuun homaa miti; gosa kabajamaa irraa dhalachuunis sobuma; yoo madaaliidhaan madaalaman lachanuu qilleensa caalaa salphatu.
10 Do not trust in money gained by extorting it from others; do not try to gain anything by robbing others. If you become very wealthy, do not trust in [IDM] your money.
Waan saamichaan argattan hin amanatinaa; waan hatameenis hin koorinaa. Yoo qabeenyi keessan guddate illee, qalbii keessan isa irra hin kaaʼatinaa.
11 I have heard God say more than once that he is the one who [really] has power,
Waaqni yeroo tokko dubbate; ani immoo yeroo lama nan dhagaʼe; kunis akka humni kan Waaqaa taʼee dha.
12 and that he is the one who faithfully loves [us]. He rewards every one [of us] according to the deeds that we do.
Yaa Gooftaa araarri kan kee ti. Ati dhugumaan tokkoo tokkoo namaa akkuma hojii isaatti gatii isaa ni kennitaaf.
