Psalms 50
1 God, the all-powerful one, speaks; he summons all people, from the east to the west.
Ein salme av Asaf. Gud, Gud Herren talar og kallar på jordi frå solekoma til soleglad.
2 His glory shines from Zion [Hill in Jerusalem], an extremely beautiful city.
Frå Sion, fagerleiks kruna, strålar Gud fram.
3 Our God comes to us, and he is not silent. A great fire is in front of him, and a storm is around him.
Vår Gud kjem og skal ikkje tegja. For hans åsyn gjeng etande eld, og ikring honom stormar det sterkt.
4 He comes to judge his people. He shouts to the [angels in] heaven and to [the people on] the earth.
Han kallar på himmelen ovantil og på jordi til å døma sitt folk.
5 He says, “Summon those who faithfully [worship] me, those who made an agreement with me by offering sacrifices to me.”
«Samla til meg mine trugne, som hev gjort pakt med meg um offer!»
6 The [angels in] heaven declare, “God is righteous, and he is the supreme judge.”
Og himlarne forkynner hans rettferd; for Gud er den som skal halda dom. (Sela)
7 God says, “My people, listen! You Israeli people, listen, as I, your God, say what you have done that is wrong.
«Høyr, mitt folk, eg vil tala; Israel, eg vil vitna imot deg; Gud, din Gud er eg.
8 I am not rebuking you for making sacrifices to me, for the offerings that you completely burn [on the altar].
Ikkje for dine offer vil eg lasta deg; dine brennoffer er alltid framfyre meg.
9 But I do not really need [you to sacrifice] the bulls from your barns and the goats from your pens,
Eg vil ikkje taka uksar frå ditt hus eller bukkar frå dine grindar.
10 because all the animals in the forest belong to me, [and all] the cattle on 1,000 hills also belong to me.
For meg høyrer alle dyr i skogen til, fe på fjelli i tusundtal.
11 I [own and] know all the birds and all [the creatures] that move around in the fields.
Eg kjenner alle fuglar på fjelli, og det som rører seg på marki, er meg for augo.
12 [So], if I were hungry, I would not tell you [to bring me some food], because everything in the world belongs to me!
Um eg var hungrig, vilde eg ikkje segja det til deg; for meg høyrer jordriket til med alt det som fyller det.
13 I do not eat the flesh of the bulls [that you sacrifice], and I do not drink the blood of the goats [that you offer to me].
Skulde eg eta kjøt av stutar og drikka blod av bukkar?
14 The sacrifice [that I really want is that] you thank me and do all that you have promised to do.
Ofra lov og takk til Gud og gjev den Høgste det du hev lova,
15 And pray to me when you have troubles. [If you do that], I will rescue you, and [then] you will praise me.
og kalla på meg den dag du er i naud, so vil eg frelsa deg ut, og du skal prisa meg.»
16 But I say this to the wicked people: (Why do you/It does not benefit you at all to) [RHQ] recite my commandments or talk about the agreement that I made with you,
Men til den ugudlege segjer Gud: «Kva hev du med å fortelja um mine lover og taka mi pakt i din munn,
17 because you have refused to allow me to discipline you, and you have rejected what I told you to do.
etter di du hatar tukt og kastar mine ord attum deg?
18 Every time that you see a thief, you become his friend, and you spend [much] time with those who commit adultery.
Når du ser ein tjuv, er du gjerne med honom, og med horkarar er du i lag.
19 You are [always] talking [MTY] about doing wicked things, and you are [always] to deceive people.
Din munn slepper du laus til vondt, og di tunga spinn i hop svik.
20 You are always accusing members of your own family [of doing wrong], and slandering them.
Du sit og talar imot bror din, set ein skamflekk på son til mor di.
21 You did [all] those things, and I did not say anything to you, [so] you thought that I was [a sinner] just like you. But now I rebuke you and accuse you, right in front of you.
Dette gjorde du, og eg tagde; so tenkte du eg var liksom du sjølv; men eg vil yvertyda deg og leggja det fram for deg.
22 So, all you who have ignored me, pay attention to this, because if you do not, I will tear you to pieces, and there will be no one to rescue you.
Gjev gaum etter dette, de som gløymer Gud, so eg ikkje skal riva burt, og ingen frelser.
23 The sacrifice that [truly] honors me is to thank me [for what I have done]; and I will save those who always do the things that I want them to.”
Den som ofrar meg takk, han ærar meg, og den som gjeng den rette veg, honom vil eg lata sjå Guds frelsa!»
