Psalms 49
1 You people of all ethnic groups, listen! You people all over the world,
੧ਪ੍ਰਧਾਨ ਵਜਾਉਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਦੇ ਲਈ ਕੋਰਹ ਵੰਸ਼ੀਆਂ ਦਾ ਭਜਨ। ਹੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਲੋਕੋ, ਇਹ ਸੁਣੋ, ਹੇ ਜਗਤ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਵਾਸੀਓ ਕੰਨ ਲਾਓ!
2 important people and unimportant people, rich people and poor people, everyone, [listen to what I am saying],
੨ਕੀ ਊਚ, ਕੀ ਨੀਚ, ਧਨੀ ਅਤੇ ਕੰਗਾਲ ਇਕੱਠੇ।
3 [because] what I am thinking is very sensible, and what I say will enable you to become wise!
੩ਮੇਰੇ ਮੂੰਹ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਬੁੱਧ ਦੀਆਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਨਿੱਕਲਣਗੀਆਂ, ਅਤੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ ਦਾ ਵਿਚਾਰ ਗਿਆਨ ਦਾ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ।
4 I think about [MTY] (proverbs/wise sayings), and while I play my harp, I explain what they mean.
੪ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਕੰਨ ਦ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟਾਂਤ ਵੱਲ ਲਾਵਾਂਗਾ, ਮੈਂ ਬਰਬਤ ਨਾਲ ਆਪਣਾ ਭੇਤ ਖੋਲ੍ਹਾਂਗਾ।
5 I am not [RHQ] afraid when I am in trouble/danger, when I am surrounded by my enemies,
੫ਬੁਰੇ ਦਿਨਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਮੈਂ ਕਿਉਂ ਡਰਾਂ, ਜਦ ਧੋਖੇਬਾਜ਼ਾਂ ਦੀ ਬਦੀ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਘੇਰ ਲੈਂਦੀ ਹੈ?
6 by evil men who trust that [things will always go well for them because] they are wealthy, and who boast about being very rich.
੬ਜਿਹੜੇ ਆਪਣੀ ਮਾਇਆ ਉੱਤੇ ਭਰੋਸਾ ਰੱਖਦੇ ਹਨ, ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਧਨ ਦੀ ਬਹੁਤਾਇਤ ਉੱਤੇ ਫੁੱਲਦੇ ਹਨ,
7 [They may be rich], but no one can pay money with the result that he would live forever! No one can pay God enough so that God will allow him [to continue] to live,
੭ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਕੋਈ ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਦਾ ਛੁਟਕਾਰਾ ਕਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਕਦਾ, ਨਾ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨੂੰ ਉਹ ਦੇ ਬਦਲੇ ਪ੍ਰਾਸਚਿਤ ਦੇ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ,
8 because that cost is too great, and he will never be able to pay enough
੮ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਜਾਨ ਦਾ ਛੁਟਕਾਰਾ ਮਹਿੰਗਾ ਹੈ, ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਸਦਾ ਤੱਕ ਅਸਾਧ ਹੈ,
9 with the result that he will live forever and never [die and] be buried!
੯ਕਿ ਉਹ ਅਨੰਤ ਕਾਲ ਤੱਕ ਜਿਉਂਦਾ ਰਹੇ, ਅਤੇ ਕਬਰ ਨੂੰ ਨਾ ਵੇਖੇ।
10 We see that foolish and stupid people die, but we see that wise people also die; they all leave their wealth, and others inherit it.
੧੦ਉਹ ਤਾਂ ਵੇਖਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਬੁੱਧਵਾਨ ਵੀ ਮਰਦੇ, ਅਤੇ ਮੂਰਖ ਅਤੇ ਖਚਰਾ ਦੋਵੇਂ ਨਸ਼ਟ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੀ ਮਾਇਆ ਹੋਰਨਾਂ ਲਈ ਛੱਡ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
11 Those wise people once had [houses on] land that they owned, [but now] their graves are their homes forever, the place where they will stay for all time!
੧੧ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਇਹ ਭੁਲੇਖਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਸਾਡੀਆਂ ਕਬਰਾਂ ਸਦਾ ਤੱਕ ਅਤੇ ਸਾਡੇ ਨਿਵਾਸ ਪੀੜ੍ਹੀਓਂ ਪੀੜ੍ਹੀ ਰਹਿਣਗੇ, ਓਹ ਆਪਣੀਆਂ ਭੂਮੀਆਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਨਾਮ ਰੱਖਦੇ ਹਨ।
12 Even if people are great, that cannot prevent them from dying; all people die, the same as animals do.
੧੨ਪਰ ਆਦਮੀ ਆਦਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਨਹੀਂ ਟਿਕੇਗਾ, ਉਹ ਡੰਗਰਾਂ ਵਰਗੇ ਹਨ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਨਸ਼ਟ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
13 That is what happens to those who foolishly trust [in what they have accomplished], to those who are delighted in [all] that they possess.
੧੩ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਇਹ ਚਾਲ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਮੂਰਖਤਾਈ ਹੈ, ਤਾਂ ਵੀ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਮਗਰ ਆਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਓਹ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪਸੰਦ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ। ਸਲਹ।
14 They are certain to die just like sheep, when a shepherd leads them away to be slaughtered. [PRS, MET] In the morning righteous people will rule over them, and then [those wealthy people will die and] their bodies will quickly decay in their graves; they will be where dead people are, far from their homes. (Sheol h7585)
੧੪ਇੱਜੜ ਵਾਂਗੂੰ ਉਹ ਪਤਾਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਰੱਖੇ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਮੌਤ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਅਯਾਲੀ ਹੋਵੇਗੀ, ਅਤੇ ਸਵੇਰ ਨੂੰ ਧਰਮੀ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਰਾਜ ਕਰਨਗੇ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਰੂਪ ਪਤਾਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਗਲ਼ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ, ਉਹ ਦਾ ਕੋਈ ਟਿਕਾਣਾ ਨਾ ਰਹੇਗਾ। (Sheol h7585)
15 But it is certain that God will rescue me so that I am not kept in the place of the dead. (Sheol h7585)
੧੫ਪਰੰਤੂ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਮੇਰੀ ਜਾਨ ਨੂੰ ਪਤਾਲ ਦੇ ਵੱਸ ਤੋਂ ਛੁਟਕਾਰਾ ਦੇਵੇਗਾ, ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਉਹ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਕਬੂਲ ਕਰੇਗਾ। ਸਲਹ। (Sheol h7585)
16 [So], do not be dismayed when someone becomes rich and the houses where they live become more and more luxurious,
੧੬ਤੂੰ ਨਾ ਡਰ ਜਦ ਕੋਈ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਧਨੀ ਹੋ ਜਾਵੇ, ਜਦ ਉਹ ਦੇ ਘਰ ਦਾ ਪਰਤਾਪ ਵਧ ਜਾਵੇ,
17 because when he dies, he will take nothing with him; his wealth will not go with him.
੧੭ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਉਹ ਮਰਨ ਦੇ ਵੇਲੇ ਕੁਝ ਵੀ ਨਾ ਲਈ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ, ਉਹ ਦਾ ਪਰਤਾਪ ਉਹ ਦੇ ਪਿੱਛੇ ਨਾ ਉੱਤਰੇਗਾ,
18 While [a rich person] is alive, he congratulates himself, and people praise him for being successful,
੧੮ਭਾਵੇਂ ਉਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਜਿਉਂਦੇ ਜੀਅ ਆਪਣੀ ਜਾਨ ਨੂੰ ਮੁਬਾਰਕ ਆਖਦਾ, - ਜਦੋਂ ਤੂੰ ਆਪਣਾ ਭਲਾ ਕਰੇਂ ਤਾਂ ਲੋਕ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਸਲਾਹੁਣਗੇ, -
19 but he will [die], joining his ancestors, who will never see daylight again.
੧੯ਤਦ ਵੀ ਉਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਪੁਰਖਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਪੀੜ੍ਹੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਜਾ ਰਲੇਗਾ, ਜਿਹੜੇ ਕਦੇ ਵੀ ਚਾਨਣ ਨਾ ਵੇਖਣਗੇ।
20 Even if someone is great, that cannot prevent him from dying; he will die, the same as animals do.
੨੦ਜਿਹੜਾ ਆਦਮੀ ਆਦਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੈ ਪਰ ਸਮਝ ਨਹੀਂ ਰੱਖਦਾ, ਉਹ ਡੰਗਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਵਰਗਾ ਹੈ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਨਸ਼ਟ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ!
