< Psalms 47 >
1 You people all [over the world], clap your hands for joy! Shout joyfully to [praise] God!
Kumqondisi wokuhlabela. ElamaDodana kaKhora. Ihubo. Qakezani izandla zenu, zizwe zonke; hlokomani kuNkulunkulu ngomsindo wokuthokoza.
2 Yahweh, who is much greater than any other god, is awesome; he is the king who rules over all the world!
Wesabeka kangakanani uThixo oPhezukonke, iNkosi enkulu kuwo wonke umhlaba!
3 He enabled us to defeat [the armies of] the people-groups [that lived in Canaan].
Wazehlula zonke izizwe zaba ngaphansi kwethu, abantu babangaphansi kwezinyawo zethu.
4 He chose for us this land where we now live; we Israeli people [MTY], whom he loves, are proud that we own this land.
Wasikhethela ilifa lethu, igugu likaJakhobe amthandayo.
5 God has gone up [into his temple]. The people shouted joyfully and blew trumpets as Yahweh went up.
UNkulunkulu usekhuphukile phakathi komsindo wentokozo, uThixo uphakathi kokukhala kwamacilongo.
6 Sing songs to praise our God! Sing to praise him [DOU]! Sing to God, our king!
Hlabelelani indumiso kuNkulunkulu, hlabelelani indumiso; hlabelelani indumiso eNkosini yethu, hlabelelani indumiso.
7 God is the one who rules over everything in the world; sing a psalm to him!
Ngoba uNkulunkulu uyiNkosi yomhlaba wonke; hlabelelani kuye ihubo lokudumisa.
8 God sits on his sacred throne as he rules over the people of [all] ethnic groups.
UNkulunkulu uyazibusa izizwe; uNkulunkulu uhlezi esihlalweni sakhe sobukhosi esingcwele.
9 The rulers of those people-groups gather as God’s people, the people [descended] from Abraham, [do]. But God has more power than the weapons/shields [of all the kings] on the earth; (he is greatly honored/people honor him) everywhere.
Izikhulu zezizwe ziyaqoqana njengabantu bakaNkulunkulu ka-Abhrahama, ngoba amakhosi omhlaba angakaNkulunkulu; uphakeme kakhulukazi.
